En este segundo libro, conocemos paisajes y personajes nuevos. Con ellos vienen nuevas mentalidades, puntos de vista y maneras de ver la vida. Descubrimos también una Neilén más profunda, que -habiendo dejado atrás todo lo que conoce- atraviesa su propia búsqueda.
El universo que creó Flor crece de las maneras más hermosas. Sentí cada hoja como una brisa fresca que no solo me arrastraba por la historia sino que me llevaba a pensar cosas que me conectaban más conmigo misma.
Porque Namilkurá no es solo una historia, es un llamado a abrir los ojos y ser un poco más conscientes de cómo nuestras decisiones afectan al mundo que nos rodea. Si nosotros no cuidamos nuestro hogar, ¿quién lo va a hacer?
Y no por eso deja la aventura de lado. Me pareció un libro balanceado, con plot-twist que me dejaron MAL. Esta bilogía es un mimito al alma y lloré mucho cuando la terminé. Necesito más. Se necesitan más libros así. Les juro que, si lo leen, no se van a arrepentir.

Hace mucho que no me pasaba que un libro me dejara una sensación tan linda, a lo cozy/soft/warm/safe place, les juro que había momentos en los que se me caían las lágrimas y en el interior me sentía toda osdighjfmvckb. Es uno de esos libros que uno lee y grita QUÉ LIBRO DEL BIEN.
Para empezar, algo que no me canso de decir en todos lados, es increíble lo mucho que llega el amor y el respeto por la naturaleza que transmite este libro. No es solo lo que dice, sino también cómo lo dice. Las imágenes que se presentan me llegaron muchísimo, el modo en que presenta al mundo como si fuera poesía y el cómo se resalta que es algo que no le pertenece a nadie así que nadie tiene el derecho de conquistarlo. No sé, hay mensajes tan lindos que, aunque lo leí en digital, me lo terminé comprando en físico para marcarlo todo.
Otra cosa que me encantó es el choque de culturas, el cómo Anelina se ve conflictuada con mil cosas que Neilén no entiende cómo pueden ser un conflicto. El vínculo que comparten es hermoso, sobre todo ver cómo se abren la una a la otra a pesar del choque que sus mundos están teniendo a su alrededor. Su relación me pareció mil veces más linda que cualquier otra pareja que nos puedan presentar, sns, viva el NeiLina (?)
Una última cosa que quiero resaltar y que viene relacionada a lo anterior es cómo se presenta el rol de la mujer a lo largo de la historia. Teniendo tintes históricos, nos encontramos con un mundo de hombres que esperan que las mujeres no sean más que adornos bonitos que organizan eventos sociales y se quedan tranquilitas. Pero, acá, con el problema que tiene Anelina, la autora nos adentra en algo que no se suele ver para nada en ese tipo de libros, algo muy importante que recién en los últimos años se empezó a visualizar más en la literatura: la salud mental.
Es una de las tantas cosas que se visualizan en la novela y que dan para discutir por horas. Me tomó por sorpresa encontrarme esa vuelta de tuerca, más aún al darme cuenta que, hasta el momento, en las novelas históricas que he leído y que presentan conflictos similares, todo acaba relacionado con el romance o con algún hombre.
Esta novela aporta un montón, me parece un buen libro para regalar, sobre todo a personas jóvenes, porque permite captar la atención respecto a ciertos temas sobre los que quizás sino no se hablaría....more

Creo que lo más lindo de todo es ver el desarrollo de Leah como personaje. Es una historia que no solo se centra en el amor, sino que toca temas delicados, como el duelo, el miedo a no ser suficiente o lo frágil que puede resultar una amistad en determinadas situaciones.
La trama está bien construida, los personajes fueron evolucionando y atrapándome más en la historia. Mi problema principal con este libro es que, de la mitad en adelante, pareciera que Axel solo pensara con el pene. Sentí que el personaje perdió mucha profundidad, y varias de las cosas que hacían que quisiera a este personaje se perdieron porque no dejaba de pensar en sexo.
También me chocó un poco la forma en la que se justifica la intensidad de esas emociones, me quedé con la sensación de que estaban mezclando dos cosas que no necesariamente tienen mucho que ver.
Así que, aunque disfruté de la lectura en sí, de a ratos se me hizo un poco cuesta arriba.
Por demás, súper recomendable. Amo cómo escribo Alice y me encanta cómo ningún personaje sobra o está al pedo. Ya sean los integrantes de la familia, los amigos, todos tienen un rol en la historia. Creo que el problema es que, al haberlo escrito Sica, todo el mundo se esperaba un terrible puterío contra GG, sobre todo teniendo en cuenta la historia y los rumores en torno a la novela.
Si bien hay alguna que otra cosa que podría interpretarse, resultó no ser el terrible salseo que esperaba, así que la novela me sorprendió para bien. ¿Es lo mejor que he leído? No, para nada, pero tampoco me encontré con los personajes planos que esperaba. Sí hay alguna que otra cosa que hmmm un poco meh, sobre todo en cuanto las cuestiones amorosas, que parece que van de a saltos en vez de seguir un camino.
Pero tampoco está tan mal, es una novela young adult bastante entretenida y, para pasar el rato, va bien. Disfruté leyéndola porque gira en torno al kpop, algo que me gusta mucho, y me atrapó lo suficiente como para querer leer la segunda parte. ...more

No suelo leer mucho sobre viajes náuticos y piratas así que era algo bastante diferente a lo que estoy acostumbrada, ¿valió la pena? Sí.
La historia nos presenta a Caro, una balandrera que se dedica a navegar por los ríos junto a su padre, realizando transporte de carga y, en ocasiones, contrabando. Su vida cambia por completo cuando, de un día para otro, unos hombres de mar destruyen todas las balandras de un puerto, su padre se ve encarcelado y se ve obligada a transportar una carga acerca de la cual no sabe nada para salvarlo. Navegando sola por primera vez, deberá enfrentarse a un montón de problemas y mostrar las cualidades de las que los Oresteia están tan orgullosos. La cuestión es que un destino mucho más grande que el que ella espera podría estar esperándola, el problema es… ¿Estará Caro a la altura?
Hace rato no me enganchaba tanto con un libro de aventuras; se nos presenta un mundo de fantasía pero que tiene ese dejo clásico de los relatos históricos en el cuál es bastante fácil sumergirse. Al principio me costó engancharme porque es un libro bastante distinto a lo que suelo leer, pero una vez que le agarré el ritmo fue cuestión de tiempo. La única complejidad que me encontré fue el vocabulario técnico referente a la navegación; más de una vez acabé buscando qué era qué pero al ser palabras que aparecían de forma tan constante, acababa mareándome un poco.
Lo único que no me convenció fue el romance, se me hizo bastante forzado. Recae mucho en el cliché de “vivimos una aventura juntos así que nos enamoramos”, pero en ningún momento sentí que hubiese una verdadera conexión amorosa entre los personajes, de modo que las escenas de amor se me hicieron un tanto awkward.
Por otro lado, Kenté me pareció uno de los mejores personajes, al igual que Nereus. Por el cierre que tuvo, no sé si vamos a volver a saber de ella en la segunda parte de la bilogía pero espero que sí, porque su historia me pareció de las más interesantes para leer. ...more

Soy muy fan de la peli de Tim Burton, y a pesar de haberla visto tantas veces, tardé un montón en descubrir que estaba basada en un libro (y ahora descubrí que tiene parte dos, que también tengo gana de leer).
Tenía un poco de miedo sobre lo que iba a encontrarme, pero me venía como anillo al dedo para el desafío de Copa de las Casas de este mes. Teníamos que leer algo que nos recordara a Halloween pero que no fuese terror ni horror, y este libro, si bien no lo muestra de forma directa, tiene algo de esa vibra creepy que tanto suele aparecer en los clásicos originales (por no mencionar que estuve investigando sobre otros personajes que se iban a incluir pero que se terminaron recortando y uff, intensa la cosa); además, tiendo a asociar a Halloween con los dulces, así que todo encajaba.
Por suerte, debo decir que me llevé una sorpresa muy grata, porque la novela me encantó. Ya partiendo de la introducción que incluye y que ya te sumerge en la historia (me sentí totalmente identificada con eso de que uno llega al punto de tensión y de golpe lo interrumpen), hasta los primeros capítulos en los que vamos conociendo a Charlie, resultó ser un libro que disfruté un montón.
Es una historia entretenida pero conmovedora, y lo cierto es que a uno no le faltan ganas de que exista un Willy Wonka con una fábrica tan increíble y que haya un boleto dorado para cada niño (y adulto, yo también quiero ir) del mundo.
