Sinek not only discusses what makes a good leader, but really his lessons are about what makes one a better person in general. As he does so he also throws in a lot of lessons in how we arrived at the society we're currently mucking about in these days. Interested in how we made it into the current banking world? It's touched on. Want to know what date the world of business changed drastically (it's in the 1980s) as far as employee retention and layoffs? It's here.
I listened to the audiobook - it's read by the author who did a great job of holding my normally ADD attention. I may have to give it a run through again at some point, but for now I'll hold off in hopes that someone else picks this gem up at the library. ...more

I put it down a few times because I didn't want it to be over too quickly, and because, frankly, it is an intense and sometimes uncomfortable read. Minnow Bly is an escaped survivor of a cult, where she has survived horrific abuse. She has been sentenced to a juvenile detention center, and it is there that she begins to recount and come to terms with her experiences. As time passes she also begins to explore her own thoughts on the big issues - God, the universe, etc....more
