The author has a captivating writing style that grabs you immediately and has you flying through the pages until you reach the end. If you're into dark, age gap, and/or taboo erotica, you're in for a real treat!
It's a novella, so be mindful of that going into it. You're not going to get serious long term relationship development or anything, because that would be impossible given the length. However, it does a good job in it's 73 pages of giving you a complete short story with a satisfying ending.

It's my first book by both authors, but not my first reverse harem or dark romance by a long shot. Reverse harem and dark romance are two of my favorite sub-genres of romance, so when I saw the blurb for this book, I was beyond excited! It sounded like something I would absolutely love. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case.
Snow is taken from her home by seven huntsmen tasked with killing her by the queen. The huntsmen decide to keep Snow for themselves as a sexual play thing instead. Her life has been spared, but she is still very much a prisoner.
Snow tries to run away from them, but they catch her in a trap in the woods where she hangs upside down with her nightgown over her head. The first thing they do is stick their fingers in her holes while she screams and fights to get free. Pretty much every sex scene after that is rapey, too. It's dark romance, so I was prepared for that. However, the scenes weren't hot to me at all. I won't go into detail to spoil, but this one just totally missed the mark for me. When you couple that with a barely there plot, a ridiculously weak heroine, and virtually no romance, I just couldn't enjoy the book.
I'm giving it a 2, because I like the idea behind the story. I think it had great potential to be scorching hot and entertaining. The writing wasn't bad either. I just didn't enjoy the content. For that reason, I would still try something else by these authors in the future. Despite this one not being for me, I recommend you give Snow and the Seven Huntsmen a try if the blurb interests you, and judge for yourself. ...more

Lunch time, appointment waiting rooms, bus rides, or bath time, this is one you can fit in anywhere! Being as busy as we all are, these type of books can come in handy often, so I was happy when the author brought this one to my attention.
Rachel met Simon on Twitter, and after falling for his charm, agreed to go on a blind date with him. She has never seen his picture, but he claims to look like Joey from friends which has her more than curious. Simon is mysterious and intriguing to Rachel from the beginning, and when she finally meets him, he does not disappoint! After a few drinks and some flirty conversation, Simon whisks Rachel off to an luxurious hotel where he gives her a night she will never forget!
Blind Date is a fast and steamy read that will leave you wanting more. It's my first book by Alessa Stone, and what stood out to me most about her writing is the gorgeous way she describes the opulent bar and hotel. It helps set the mood perfectly. Since this novella is about a one night stand and nothing more, if you are looking for a story with a little more substance, this is not going to be for you. However, if you want something hot that gets right to the point, then this just might hit the spot!...more

Before now, I honestly had no interest in reading a romance with this type of kink, because it’s just not something I particularly find appealing. I’m down for bdsm romance any day, but it’s the “daddy” part that turns me off. That being said, I am a curious person by nature. I wanted to see if reading this book might show me something about this particular kink that I didn’t already know or help me understand the appeal of it to others. I’m nothing if not open-minded!
It didn’t take me long to realize that I had chosen the perfect book for my introduction into the DDlg lifestyle. The heroine, Abby Williams, is a professional dancer that has no idea she is anything other than vanilla. What she does know is that things that other people leave behind in childhood still bring her comfort. She wants to sleep with her stuffed animals and color for fun which are things that the parents she lives with don’t understand. They don’t approve of her chosen profession either despite the fact that she is talented. Abby goes about her days just trying to live her dream and hopes that one day they will be proud of her.
The owner of the theater where she works, Rufus Kingsolver, makes Abby realize that she likes a bit of discipline when he bends her over and spanks her ass in his office. The fact that she was dripping wet when he was done was a surprise to her, but not to him. He saw what she needed, and he gave it to her. Slowly, he starts inducting Abby into a lifestyle she never knew existed, one where women like her are called littles and men like Rufus are called daddy. A whole new world is opened up to her, and she has never felt more understood or at peace with who she is. Everything seems to finally make sense, and she has a renewed sense of self-confidence ....that is until something happens that makes her question everything.
Little Dancer is as entertaining as it is informative. Not only did it capture my attention and keep it, but it taught me a few things, too. It felt kind of like it was DDlg for beginners. The story explained a lot about the lifestyle itself, why it might appeal to some people, the way those individuals might struggle to understand their urges or desires in the beginning, and what it might feel like for them to not be understood or accepted by the people they care about.
This is my first time reading Brianna Hale's writing, and I will definitely be reading more of her work in the future. Her writing style is engaging, she made me feel for the characters, and the romance between Abby and Rufus was sweet and steamy. If you are on the fence about reading this type of book for the reasons that I was, or you are just interested in learning more about the DDlg lifestyle, I highly recommend this book to you! If you already love these types of stories, I wouldn't hesitate to one-click this one!

When a book makes me this aggravated, I can't recommend it. Do I think some people will enjoy this? Yes, I do!! I'm just not one of them! I'm not going to write a longer review, because it would definitely turn into a long rant. Plus, I would have to give away a major spoiler. Honestly, I have already wasted enough time on this one, and I don't want to waste anymore. ...more

It would be easy to read on your lunch break or while waiting for an appointment, but I wouldn’t read this one in public, people!! If you do, I hope you have an awesome poker face!
“Every time I see Professor Harrison, my panties get wet.”
The story starts off with the eighteen year old heroine, Ivy, lusting after her sexy professor, Colton. She has been wanting him for the past 6 months, and she can’t hold her feelings back any longer. When Ivy tells Professor Colton she needs some extra help after class, he sends her to his office. Not wasting any time, she offers herself up to him right then and there, and he doesn’t say no. He has been fantasizing about this moment just as much as she has. They decide to take things back to his apartment, and things just get hotter from there.
“Shh,” he says. It’s okay. You want my thick cock inside this tight little pussy, don’t you, baby girl? That’s why you’re here, isn’t it? You want me to fuck you real good, don’t you, Ivy?”
Okay, I’m not going to beat around the bush! This is straight up smut with a naughty virgin, an alpha, a serious case of instalove, lots of sex, and a happily ever after. Is it realistic? No, but it’s not supposed to be. It’s fun, it’s quick, it’s over the top, and best of all, it’s dirty. If that sounds like exactly you’re looking for, I recommend this one to you!

Batteries Not Included is a short, steamy read with a clever title that intrigued me right way. I always find it difficult to review novellas. Reviewing this one is even more difficult than ones I have reviewed in the past, because it is only 29 pages. Anyway, here goes nothing!
Maize’s vibrator breaks at the most inopportune time. Frustrated in more ways than one, she rushes to the store to pick up a new one along with, you guessed it, a pack of batteries. Before she can make it to the register, she runs into the Mandel twins, Evan and Eric. Well, it was more like they startle her and she throws a vibrator and batteries at them, but you get the idea. Seeing that she is in need of some help, they offer to give her hand… or a number of other body parts. Having seen those body parts in detail when then modeled for her drawing class, she can’t resist their offer for long. You can use your imagination about what comes next, or you can pick up a copy of this and see for yourself!
Batteries Not Included grabbed my attention in the first paragraph and kept it until the end. I enjoyed the writing style, the menage aspect, and the story itself for the most part. I cringed when I read the words “sweet, tart cream,” and when one twin thinks about the fact that he can feel his brother’s penis through the wall of Maize’s vagina (ew). The final sexual act seemed like it was cut really short, and left me wanting more. Other than that, it was hot. Overall, it was a decent little bit of smut. If this was a full length novel that had time to build off of everything, I would read it. I recommend reading this if you need something to read during your lunch break or anytime you just want something quick and dirty!

This is a story of a woman discovering a new side to herself, and a man reclaiming a part of himself that he has been suppressing. It is also the story of a man and a woman learning to trust again. Engaging, emotional, informative, and kinky, Dominate Me is definitely a worthwhile read!!
Recently divorced, Haley has decided now is the time to explore a side to her sexuality that she has ignored her whole life. She sets up a meeting with a local bdsm club owner, Dylan, to take a tour and find someone to train her as their sub. Dylan thinks she would be perfect for his friend, Jensen, and invites him to come see for himself.
Jensen is reluctant, because he has been out of the lifestyle for the past couple of years due to a traumatic event involving his previous sub. He goes to the club to appease his friend, but winds up staying once he lays eyes on Haley. It doesn’t take long for him to agree to train her, because he can’t deny that his friend was right about her. She is perfect for him, but he makes it clear to her that this is an arrangement, not a relationship. Once he trains her, she will move on to find another Dom. Dating and feelings will never enter the equation.
Haley is excited to begin this new journey in her life. She trusts Dylan, and when he tells her Jensen is the one who should train her, she goes with it. It doesn’t hurt that Jensen is incredibly attractive, sweet, and charming, or that they have amazing chemistry both in and out of the bedroom.
Soon, the lines of their relationship begin to blur. Haley and Jensen are confused, and wind up hurting each other along the way. What happens when their hearts become involved in something neither one of them thinks they are ready for? Will they have to walk away from each other for good?
I really enjoyed Haley and Jensen’s story of two people that decide to stop denying who they truly are once and for all. Haley and Jensen are likable characters with back stories that make you sympathetic to their hang ups. It is easy for the reader to become invested in their relationship right away, because it is clear that they are exactly what each other needs.
Dominate me is well paced and well written. The characters are strong, yet vulnerable, open minded, and passionate. The romance is sweet, and the sex is kinky! If you like bdsm romance, are a fan of this author’s writing, or want to give some of her work a try, I recommend this to you!
