Blair's first venture into the non-paranormal world! And, in my honest opinion, it was bomb! But I'm not surprised; I kept saying it before, she is an amazing writer and no matter what genre she gets her mind set to, it would also probably most likely be bomb too. I've not read much romantic suspense, but I've thoroughly enjoyed this novel. The twists and turns in this novel had kept my head spinning, which she is known to do to me from her previous novels too. The characters are layered with much depth, the plot is not as you would expect! I highly recommend this book to fans of romance, and most especially if you're a fan of romantic suspense novels!

Oh. My. God. I did not count on this. This book tore me to pieces. So many feels, man. So many feels.
I did not count on Tennessee Smith having his own book, but he did spark my interest from the previous books in the series. He had a rather peculiar relationship with Big Tag. So I was pleasantly surprised when things were finally cleared up in Jesse and Phoebe's book. This book was... epic, compared to the previous books in the series. I was totally not prepared for this book. I wish I had known! But the experience was great all the same. All I can say now is that Lexi Blake is seriously getting her game on!
Ten Smith is a man hell bent on revenge. Senator Hank McDonald is the reason why he has lost his brother and why the Government is on his ass. What better way to get through to the bastard than becoming seriously involved with his beloved daughter, Faith McDonald?
Dr Faith McDonald's life is dedicated to helping the poor and healing the sick. She regularly goes on commissions abroad where medical help is limited. When life gets too much, she flies back to the States and spends a few weeks in the arms of a... Dominant.
Ten is going to be that Dom for her upcoming vacation. But when she was finally in his clutches, he didn't count on falling for her too...
Like I said above, there was so many feels in this book. My heart was heavy, my stomach was in knots, and my mind was all but going berserk.

I couldn't put this book down. I even had to sacrifice gym time for this book. That's how engrossing this book is; romance, sex, suspense with so much FEELS. Masters and Mercenaries has now 10+ books, one would think that you'd start feeling a little burned out, right? Wrong. Lexi Blake continues to dazzle her readers with each new book in the series! I can't wait to read Kai's book!...more

Lexi Blake seems to be focused on the suspense part rather than the romance and BDSM elements which I both found quite weak. At the moment, I'm unsure whether I'm going to continue with the series....more

A troublesome cop, a frantic relative and a new threat hovering over their heads, as well as Dylan's responsibilities, will Alex be able to be the person that Dylan needs and how will she be able to deal with all of these while focusing also on her own career?
Fatal Divide is twice more thrilling than the previous installment of this particular series and the author has amped up her game in the mystery aspect of the book. It has the same dynamic as the previous book and I really like that the author is consistent with the theme but I had hoped for more romance but that is selfishness on my part. I would not slash a well-deserved star just because I didn't get everything I want!
I think the struggles Dylan and Alex face are quite plausible; in their early and mid 20s, at that age they are still finding their place in this world. Like, how the hell are they gonna have sex in such a small town? They couldn't do it at her place after the episode when they were teenagers! They couldn't do it at his place because his mother is there in a comatose state - it wouldn't be right! They couldn't do it at a motel because everyone will start babbling! I feel for them. I really do. Just a little sexy time! Is that too much to ask!? Poor Dylan and Alex! LOL.
But kidding aside, I really enjoyed this one perhaps even more than the previous book!
Like in Fatal Exposure, there are still loose ends to the book but there is no cliff hanger. You can bet that I will be waiting for the next release in this series. I look forward to finding out what trouble Dylan is going to stumble upon next and how his and Alex's relationship will develop now that they have made some serious decisions revealed near the end of the book.

Enraged, he threatened to sue Dylan since he was of legal age and she was, unfortunately, not. That lead to many realizations and Dylan was forced to leave town, assuring Alex that he was never looking back.
But he did and now he was back. With a murder looming over their heads, an enraged suitor, Dylan's family issues and with someone actually targeting Alex this time - will they be given a second chance before it's too late?
This was an exciting read! The romance was merely secondary to the exciting mystery/crime plot. Alex is a very interesting character. She's young and persistent. She won't let herself be bullied by those around her! Dylan on the other hand is not your average hero. He may not be your typical alpha male but he is still hottie in a uniform (forest ranger) - and don't we all love that?
The author did an awesome job in the mystery side of the book! It was great and there were twists here that I honestly did not see coming. By the time I reached the end of the book, I found that I liked Alex - damn, what adrenaline rush could do to that girl! :D
There's still loose ends at the end of the book but rest assured that this didn't end in a cliffhanger. Their story continues on in Fatal Divide I look forward to getting started on that! I do hope that we get a little more romance in that book. ;)

What a beautiful bittersweet conclusion to a great series! I will surely miss Ty and Zane. They had come a long way from reluctant partners to lovers to real partners and we've seen the gradual development of their relationship. Sigh! I do plan to reread the entire series in the future....more
