At a first glance, this is a thriller, but it is so much more. I love how it deals with difficult complex topics and also kept my attention with the twists. I would definitely recommend this. The story is rich, thought provoking and the character interesting and dynamic. I also liked the ending and how at fist I thought I knew how its going to end, then I wasn't sure and the ending was somewhere in the middle of all this....more

I expected a dull book about writing and technicalities, but got interesting facts about Stephen King, his writing process and his opinions on what it takes to be a good writer. I will definitely come back to this in a later time to re think, maybe read it in German if I can find the translation.
Definitely recommend if you like Stephen King, his books, reading and you always wondered how he can create such vivid stories in such a short amount of time....more

I could relate to Tori just as much as I related to Frances, maybe even more so. Tori's anger, sadness, frustration, passive-aggressiveness felt real and relatable. I love how Oseman manages to incorporate deeper topics in her novels, like depression in this case, while still managing to make an interesting plot and setting. I also loved Nick and Charlies past and will read Heartstopper soon. Can't wait for Loveless, coming out on Thursday...more

I loved how real the characters felt and how they developed through out the book.
I also liked how mental illness was approached and described, and all the factors that have impact on it.
Anyhow, its a story about sisters, family and mental illness and I recommend it...more

I could relate to Isabel in many ways in this book, and I like how there was finally a character who didn't have things figured out. Eventhough the story didn't go in the direction in which I hoped it would I still liked it because it talked about grief. I wonder where Isabel will go with all this at the end of the book, and liked that the author left that open because finishing the book in one way would deminish the strngth of the book. I love the old vibe to this, and the way the house is playing and frightening the guests. I can only hope that the rest of her books will be this great. Some people said it's a slow burn at the beginning, and I might agree, but for me, Stephen King did an amazing cozy beginning to a chilling fantasy story. I wouldn't say it's necessarily scary, but I don't think the author wanted to go in that direction either. It's just a darker fantasy story, which I loved! Perfect for Halloween. As for the characters, I mostly liked Charlie, loved the dog, and felt confused by the almost nonpresent (or naive? but also non important) father. Would definitely recommend it, and will definitely re-read it....more

If you still haven't, I recommend also the latest adaptation with David Tennat, who interpreted the character a little more insecure than he is in the book, but still nevertheless great in his own way. I must say, I'm surprised at how much I loved this book. I like Verne's writing style, the way he creates characters and makes you root for them. It was spooky, full of twists, but at the same time, not too difficult or too gory to read. I read every Sager book up to this point, and I just love his writing style, plot ideas and executions.
