I went blind into this one and I'm happy I read it.
Infatuation is a sweet second chance read with one hot H, who knows what he wants and does everything to get it. I also liked h and sympathized with her situation and her fear of history repeating itself. What their 'parents' did to them when they were young was just cruel and I doubt any loving parent would do that to their child. Thankfully we get to see the couples HEA.
A great read. :)
Safety-gang:(view spoiler)[ There is no cheating at all. H/h know they want each other, so it's a safe read. There is one of H's exes at the wedding, who thinks to spend time with H again but H makes it clear he doesn't want her. That doesn't mean she gives up that quickly. Also at the wedding night in H's POV there was a sentence that really bothered me while he was having sex with h: "I’ve never taken someone so intensely or savagely before, and it’s amazing." I could have gone without this reminder. (hide spoiler)]

Well that for sure was a fun, short read that left me wanting for more. That cliffhanger at the end, I tell ya, did not like it at all. Now all I want to know is what happens next. I've read more than thousand mangas and it never gets old. I love the artists style for this one and the story itself is not bad. It definitely keeps my attention. Although I find the heroine a bit naive, but overall not dull. Not to mention the hot new guy. I guess I will just have to wait for the next volume to find out what's next in the store for these two. ...more

I wonder what will happen between these two in the next book, hopefully they get together for real (and stay together). This book was quite all right and I liked it but I don't think I'm going to continue reading the rest of the series. Why? Well some parts of the plot were just too slow for me and I just wished more from her potential lovers. I adored Tye and Shade but Coal and River were just mean jerks that had their walls so high up that I do doubt Lera will ever be able to tear them down. Other than that I liked the plot for the most part, it's fresh and has a lot of potential. I also liked Lera's character. She was fun and brave when needed. I've already finished the third book by now and I'm reading the fourth one, because I simply couldn't wait to know what happens next. I'm not going to spoil anything from the plot but it's safe to say that the plot gets better and also the characters mature a bit. I started to like more of them but there was one scene where I really wasn't happy with Nero and his behaviour towards Leda. I get that the author wanted to push the plot in a certain direction but I'm sure she could've done it in a different way that didn't make me feel a bit disappointed in the hero of this series. Some might say that it was all right what he did but I always try to put myself in the heroines shoes and I for one wouldn't forgive him that fast, if at all. There are just some lines that you don't cross and that one was one of mine. That all being said, I still - obviously like the series and I'm going to continue reading it. Let's hope I don't get to read another scene like the one in this book, cause that would be a bummer.

There are some similarities but nothing that would make me stop reading the book and call for author rights. In this series the whole world is so much different from what I'm used to reading about and that made me like the plot a lot. It's basically how the world looks like after armageddon. And all the angels and gods versus demons stuff is also quite amusing. I'm sure some wouldn't see it that way, but these days I just have a wicked kind of humor. Can't wait for Halloween btw.

Anyway, as I was saying the book is a treat, wonderful really! That being said, I wished there was more N/A instead of YA. You know, a bit more action on that front. But nonetheless, the characters had great chemistry and some I even found annoyingly lovable. I also wished we'd get a HEA but it's more of a HFN, maybe, for now. So I'm onto reading the next book and see what's the fuss about becoming an angel all about. With the speed the main character is progressing it certainly won't be long for her to be one.

Besides The Deep in Your Veins Series, this one is my favourite from this amazing and funny author. I love her works and this book for sure didn't let me down. Devon and Tanner are simply perfect for each other. I couldn't wait for their story and I'm so glad how it turned out. They both tease each other so much that it only made sense for them to be together. It wasn't a smooth journey to get there but with love it never really is, right? Also the infamous ow-om drama was compared to other books from this author quite mild, which I liked. And not to mention we finally get to see little Asher again, he's so adorable and cute. I also loved to read more about the rest of the gang. I'm fairly sure that the next book will be awesome and super hillarious, since it's supposed to be about Keenan and Khloe. Also, we get to see new characters, some I liked, some I didn't. Especially with the Lightwood family, that is really messed up btw. There is just so much that happened in this story, it's just wow. And I like that in a book, it's at least never boring. I liked that we got to see more of Will and how he truly feels and also why he is behaving the way he is. But at the same time, my heart just broke for him. At the end, that was just mean Cassandra Clare. Just mean... That poor boy. I'm sure it will get better in the third book, let's hope. Then there is the famous love triangle. I'm usually not a fan of them but in this book I can't say that I mind it. I can understand why Tessa is feeling the way she is and also Jem is a wonderful character. Who wouldn't fall in love with him. Got to say I received a complimentary copy of this book from Thomas Nelson through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Got to say that I'm pleasantly surprised by this book. It was quite good actually and I really liked the heroine, Rhen and the whole concept of the story. When I first read the blurb my first though was that the story was going to be something similar to The Hunger Games and there was some resemblance to it, with the game and the oppression, but not as much as I thought it would be. In the end that was a huge plus, since otherwise I think the plot would be a bit boring to read. Aside from that the plot is much more focused on Rhen, her mother's sickness and how to find a cure to save her. In the end the only hope for Rhen to save her mother is by breaking tradition and entering a game to win a scholarship that would later on give her the means to create said cure.
The romance aspect of the story was all right, but to me it didn't feel like it was the center of the story. Which made the story better for me, as a reader. Lute was a cute character and I really grew to like him, sadly I can't say the same for Vincent. Now, he was just a terrible boy and he deserved everything that came his way. Beside those two I also was quite fond of Rhen's counsin, Seleni and Mr. Holm. To me, Seleni felt like Rhen's other half. Both go though thick and thin together, no matter the consequences. I really loved that. They were more like real sisters than cousins. And as for Mr. Holm, let's just say that there is more to this character than meets the eye. This character brings all the elements of magic with him.
Last but not least, is my favourite character and that obviously has to be Rhen. She was such a strong yet gentle character that one couldn't help but fall in love with. Her mind preceded her time and it was so great to see a girl in those times breaking the norm. She stood up for herself and her loved ones and if she had to break a few rules, so be it. You could say she was the black sheep of the society and she was at the same time also, at least for me, the beginning of a new era where woman's rights would exist and be heard.
All in all, this is a great story with strong characters and a great plot. It's also a quick read, so why not give it a chance... ...more

That was the first series tMan, it's been awhile since I last read one of Cassandra Clare's books. I feel in love with her Mortal Instruments series. That was the first series that I've read from her and while I was waiting for the last book in that series I decided to buy all three books from Infernal Devices Trilogy, which is also a prequel series to the Mortal Instruments series. I was convinced that I would love each book and to be honest, so far I am. Thankfully, might I add, since lately I find it hard to find really good fantasy books that move you. And Clockwork Angel is now one of my new favourites. What I find so great about Cassandra Clare's writing style is that I, as a reader, can really envision the places this book is taking place in. I can connect with the plot and the characters so easily, that in the end it's truly a pleasure reading one of her books. And while the Mortal Instruments take place in the present time, this series is taking place in the 19th century. I'm not much into histirical type of books but I did enjoy that concept in this series. And as for the plot in this book, I liked it. There were some plot twists that I didn't see coming, not by a long shot, but that's what makes it a good story. The same can be said about the characters. You could say that liked the majority of them. My favourite ones of course being the main characters but I also liked the rest of the team. Not so much Jess and Tessa's brother and the vampires, since their personalities were just not what I would like to see in a friend. But what surprised me the most is that we get to see more of Magnus Bane and how he lived in this time, before he met Alec. I liked his character right of the bat and this book just proves that my intuition is spot on.
All in all, this is a great book and a nice start of the series.

I With each book that I read from these authors I'm becoming more and more a fan of theirs. It's such a great concept for a couple to write together. I feel like their ideas and imagination really come to life within their books. So far I've read a couple of their books and I like almost all of them. And this book was no exception.
It's been awhile since I've last read the Kate Daniels series, but I can still remember Hugh and even then I kinda liked him. Granted, he wasn't the best love interest for Kate but he sure is for Elara. To be honest, I'm glad he was dumped by Roland. At least now he knows Roland's true face and although it almost killed him to part from him, since after all he was Hugh's father figure, he can now make a fresh start and a new life with Elara. And what a start it is. Let me tell you, it's not everyday that you get married at such a speed and end up living in a castle. That all comes with a price for both Hugh and Elara but it's a price worth paying for, since their enemies are starting to crawl at them from all sides and both of them need to protect their own people.
The plot is awesome. So much action and just a great plot in general. The characters are also great, especially Elara. She's not and never will be a damsel in distress, no sir, not by a long shot. She's a strong character and whenever I try to envision what her true form is, I always think of the anime Hellsing.

All the eyes, teeth and so on really do remind me of that anime. It's an awesome one by the way. Anyway, I can't wait to find out what she really is.
The only thing I didn't want in this book is perhaps all the unnecessary ow drama. It wasn't needed in my opinion and made me at the beginning dislike Hugh. Thankfully he did grow on me after all of that drama was over.
All in all, this is a great spin off and a wonderful start of a new series. Hope we'll get the second book soon. ...more

Ahhh, I got my AR fill. In my eyes AR can do nothing wrong with the stories and heroes, they are simply a wish come true. I finally got my dose of OTT alpha hero and a sweet yet quick read that made me feel giddy with joy. I liked how this story didn't have that insta love thing or at least the heroine didn't give into the relationship right away. I liked the chase and how she was her own woman first and foremost. Of course she eventually gives in and the scenes that follow are so hot. Loved it. Also, the hero is simply perfect and I wish they would make them in real life. Besides that I enjoyed to see the characters from the previous book and how their relationship evolved and that their love was stronger than ever. I wonder if we'll get to see another couple in this series, that would be awesome. As always, I adore AR books and this one was no different. ...more

Her PNR series are very good, so when I was searching for new PNR reads, I knew this author wouldn't let me down. And she didn't. I really, really enjoyed Burn for me. It's quite different from her Kate Deniels series, at least to me. There's obviously a lot of action and mystery but in this book there is more romance and I lived for that. It's not your usual romance story but we do get to see the potential to become an awesome pairing and I hope we'll get to see that in the sequel. Nevada is a strong character and I liked that she didn't take shit from anyone, especially Connor. He could be at times quite pushy and demanding but that added to his alpha charm as well. I liked the action and since we got a lot of it that jujst might have been the saving grace for this story. I also liked some characters, like Raphael and the witches as well as Kate's friend from work that had a surprising little secret of her own. To be honest I skimmed the whole book and even dropped it almost at the end. I couldn't stand Shaye and her reason was a too weak one to excuse her behaviour towards a man who truly cared for her. I mean, I get you'd be ticked off when someone took you agains your will and threw you into a whole new, to you alien, word. But there has to be a line between push-pull play where it's still cute and interesting and between a time where it's just annoying as hell. The whole reason I didn't like this book was because of her childish behaviour. And the inner dialog, where one second she wants him and in the next she's all about finding excuses and making herself believe she hates and even loathes him. That really got on my nerves. I loved her, what seemed only, female friend and I was glad we got to see her story and her POV. She was way more mature and she's been through so much, I loved tha she found love. And boy, she'll have her hands full. ;) Beside that, I also liked Valerian and I could overlook his past, since we get his POV and see just how much he cares about that ungrateful child. His patience is made of steel. So there were some good moments but mostly I wished for more. I hope this won't be my last book from this author, since some books look quite promising....more

Above all it was simply just a messy read with a big dose of WTF moments. Now, I am used from this author to push my limits, so when I read the blurb I kinda knew it's going to be a fucked up read but I certainly didn't expect what I got.
