In true Emma Lord fashion, I enjoyed this one and the characters, but it didn’t have the WOW factor for me. I ADORED tweet cute, and now unfortunately look for her others to match up to that. I wanted more backstory with June and Levi— it seemed a bit unrealistic to me that they fell back together so easily without talking for so long. Something was just missing and I can’t put my finger on it, but it was still a fun summer read and I would recommend if you’re looking for something light and also if you are a fan of scones! Some of those creations sounded so good! Thank you NetGalley and publisher for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review!...more

I love unlikely duos and Georgia and Kelsey didn’t disappoint! Told in alternate POVs of both FMCs -this one does have some heavy themes in it, but was written in a way that isn’t super depressing. You’ll also think about all the times you’ve said no to things, and what may have happened had you said yes!

Overall I landed at 3.5⭐️ — some of it was just a little too perfect for me. As a little free library steward, I loved the premise of this one.. strangers passing letters through books in the LFL, what a dream! The books they chose were classics which definitely aren’t up my alley, but I was still captivated by the back and forth and couldn’t wait to find out how they finally found out who they were corresponding with.
One thing I absolutely LOVED about this book was the dialogue between James and his best mate, Joel. They talked about how guys don’t often discuss their feelings on deeper levels - and they made an effort to ensure they went past surface level conversations with each other. I really appreciated that vulnerability captured in those scenes.
Overall, I would recommend this one to readers who love books about books! There’s something just magical when reading books about books ❤️

I enjoI grew up reading Ellen Hopkins books, so I was thrilled when I won this one! It was so angsty and definitely took me back to my younger years. I enjoyed the alternating POVs between Lake and Storm and their relationship was so special. I felt more drawn to Storm’s story, maybe because he was older? It was a tough depiction of foster life but also very realistic. I also feel that both siblings were rather lucky considering what the alternatives could have been. I wish that it would have tied up a little differently with some more closure, but overall I would recommend this one! I read this while also listening to the audio, and due to it being written in verse, the audio at times was a little awkward with some pauses etc. This was a very quick read, and one I would recommend if you’re looking for something different from the traditional genres of romance, thriller etc. ...more
Wowza. This one was a LONG one and what I felt a very slow burn, with much of the action happening in the last 20% of the book. That being said— this Wowza. This one was a LONG one and what I felt a very slow burn, with much of the action happening in the last 20% of the book. That being said— this is a story of love, hope, some mystery. It’s my first by this author and surely won’t be my last. I can totally understand why this book is being so hyped up but the length of it really was a struggle for me. I loved how it all came together in the end and overall I’m giving it a 4/5! It needed to be shorter and less descriptive. Big win on the short chapters though, had they been longer, I’m not sure I could have stuck with it. ...more

I have come to love his thrillers, and this one was no exception! Told in alternating POVs— this thriller kept me on my toes! At first I wasn’t sure how things connected, but once the bomb was dropped.. it all started making sense. Usually with alternating POVs I struggle with at least one of them, but I found myself invested in all of the perspectives of this one. Highly recommend for a fast paced thriller that you can devour in just a few settings! ...more

Yes it’s a love story, but this isn’t your typical romcom. This is real life, messy love. It’s frustrating for so much of the book. Two people brought together in their teens, and then throughout their adult lives. It’s amazing the impact that one person can have on another, and Will and Rosie were certainly that person for each other.
This is a hard one for me to describe, but I would absolutely recommend. Know that you’re not getting a fluffy love story when you pick this one up— but you’re getting a great read. One that I will certainly hold close and will continue to think about. ...more
