It is his hope that the move will bring his daughter emotional healing. Unfortunately, there are still issues she must deal with and Newt is lost as to how to help her.
Freddy is a teen counselor that uses her dog as an instrument to reach her patients. She first meets Millie at the high school and recognizes that the girl is hurting but that she has an instant affinity for Freddy’s service dog. When she takes on a new patient at her clinic, she is shocked to learn it is Millie and that she is the daughter of the man she has had a few run in’s with lately. None of them pleasant expect for the piercing eyes that seem to see through her.
I enjoyed all of these characters as this story is not just about the hero and heroine but includes Millie to the hundredth degree. Newt was such an amazing dad. He was strong and protective and yet knew when to draw the line even as he was able to share his soft side with both Millie and Freddy.
Freddy was an incredible heroine. Her past included so much loss over a short amount of time that it was a miracle she was still standing. The love she shared with those around her made her shine as did the care and attention she gave to her menagerie of animals. Freddy was the type of character you wish you had for a friend.
Millie was portrayed in the perfect teenage angsty light. Even as she begins to grow from her wounded soul, she never completely loses the fact that she’s fifteen and all teenager. I loved the strength she slowly gained and then eventually latched hold of and used to form her into the woman she would one day become.
This was a slow burn romance that covered the pain of loss and the methods that some teens deal with their loss of control and how the adults around them handle those issues. The first portion of the book was very slow but definitely lays the groundwork for character development. However, there was plenty of drama toward the last 25% and the epilogue was enough to bring tears to my eyes.
Overall, this was a heartwarming read that left me feeling satisfied at its conclusion.

Holy freakin’ Hades!!! This book! There are just no words! This book stirred up so many emotions then one by one plucked them from their hiding placesHoly freakin’ Hades!!! This book! There are just no words! This book stirred up so many emotions then one by one plucked them from their hiding places and flung them out in front of me to face them in all their messy glory. It was a painfully beautiful journey and I swear to any and all entities that I will never forget this amazing story!
My suggestion is to avoid reviews that give too much away. While it’s not a matter of constant twists and turns, the best part of this book is never knowing what’s going to happen next. Just settle back and let this author introduce you to her characters. They are incredible. Broken and imperfect but exactly what they needed to be to face their inner demons. Then be prepared to hold on emotionally as she takes you on a ride through a desperate and desolate plain where there is no hope to be found at its conclusion. Even the sparks of promise you glimpse along the way will always be overshadowed by the despair these characters live with.
This is a wonderfully written story full of depth. The angst is off the charts, the romance a welcome reprieve in the darkness and the secondary characters gaining a place in my heart without consuming the story. There are not enough stars for this book and I’m already feeling the mega book hangover Crazy Madly Deeply is going to leave me with.

What an amazing story! This was so much more than I was expecting. I knew this author would keep things authentic, but holy heck, I never realized how it was going to send me on an emotional roller coaster. The scenes written here were so vivid I ached. I felt the agony, the struggle and the complete desolation these characters experienced. And oh my, their strength, not only for themselves but for the women standing next to them. This is a story that will stay with me forever.

While a few of them took me by surprise, there was nothing that was a total jaw dropper. I had suspected some of the outcome. I will say that the storyline was original but the flow was difficult for me to follow through much of the beginning. This has so many characters and it felt disjointed moving from one to the other. Especially when listening to it on audio. I often had to stop and look at the ebook in order to fully understand whose point of view I was in and what was happening with them. Once I finally settled in with the cast of characters, I found this to be very enjoyable.

The worst of all is the ability to control someone to the point of that person bringing death upon himself. It’s easy to judge others and question how they could possibly get to that place, but a master manipulator knows the type of person that will allow it and they make their move.

While this had a lot of abuse and torture, it also had a lot of in between time where the author shared the situations that set everyone up for the ultimate abuse to take place. There was a time or two that the story lagged as the timeline became tangled a bit for me. Nevertheless, this was an eye opening read that educated me a bit more in the manner of abuse. It was particularly alarming as I was able to recognize a similar situation a family member was in but was quickly removed from. ...more

Gemma’s story held me captive as it was slowly revealed. She was a strong heroine despite her fears and uncertainties. I loved that her love and determination to protect her daughter took precedence over everything else in her life. When her choices were between doing the smart thing or that thing that readers scream about, she held fast to her character and remained strong.
Jethro was a unique hero with his accent and his special abilities. I adored him from the beginning. He was everything Gemma and Trudy needed and his interactions with the little girl were ovary exploding scenes that had me wishing for a Jethro of my own. He too had a background that was rising up to threaten him and what he was developing with Gemma and his protection of her and Trudy had me loving him all the more.
The scorching chemistry between Gemma and Jethro was enough to singe the pages. This also had several moments of intense danger and drama. I was glued to the pages as one thing after another was revealed to this couple and they were left to deal with it. Of course, the Deep Ops characters were there to give backup and I gobbled each delicious bite of them as they supported this couple.

I knew exactly what I was getting when I started this and, other than a bit more smexy times than I was expecting, it lived up to all my expectations. It’s been a long time since I read a book that had all the above attributes to it and I was more than ready to dig in.
This is definitely what I consider erotic romance. There are all kinds of sexploits taking place with a little story interwoven throughout. The hero is all that you expect of an alpha wolf who has just found his mate, she’s going into mating heat, and it’s a full moon. Add in that there’s a stranger lurking around, and this guy is in full on protection mode. Delicious.
This is a fast read and is perfect if you're looking for a little bite of something naughty and over the top.

It pulled me in and kept me, making it hard to set it aside. I had the advantage of being able to alternate between reading and listening which enabled me to continue enjoying it while driving or cleaning.
I really liked Bree and her total loyalty and concern for her family. When the hero makes a bit of a move towards her, there is an adult response between them that I wasn’t expecting. The romance is very low but because the hero, Matt, is included in a large amount of the book, and he has a thread of protectiveness to him, I didn’t really miss it too much.
I liked Matt just as much as Bree. He’s got some things from his recent past that give his character a bit of an edge as well as the potential for drama in the upcoming books. While he yielded to Bree’s expertise in most situations, he was also quick to rise up when she was putting herself in potential danger. He was alpha without having a beacon pointed at him.
This had a great pace to it. It never bogged down and while the action wasn’t hard core, shoot ‘em out, through its entirety, there was constantly something keeping the story moving. I’m very happy I tried this author and this book. I’m moving on to the next!

I was completely enthralled with each character and their individual stories. I couldn’t wait to find out how they all connected.
I liked the fact that this included characters of every nature. Some I connected with and my heart ached for them to find a measure of happiness, others were flat out evil even before the author shined a light on their actions, and then there were those that I found myself judging, wondering, and switching from one opinion to another as the story progressed. It all added to the overall feel and texture of this story.
There were several times I found myself heartbroken, near tears, and anxious and then with only a turn of the page I’d find myself ranting and raving. To say this pulled me into the story and kept me engaged doesn’t give the full effect this story had on me.

This is the story of three women dealing with different situations during a pandemic of violence. While the thought of violence being a pandemic was initially hard to believe, it didn’t take me long to connect it with the attitude and actions of many people in today’s society. The way this author used it as a spin for this story totally worked in my opinion.
I really liked that this is about a grandmother, her daughter and her granddaughter. Watching each of these ladies handle things according to the way they were raised is what this book is really about. The effect of love, abuse, acceptance or the lack of any of those things had my emotions on a tightrope through most of this story.
I found the growth within each of these women to be astounding, heartwarming and believable. This was so much more than what I was expecting and I’m so glad I had the opportunity to read it!

I connected with Memphis to the point that I was in agony each time she faced a new challenge to her self confidence. She was carrying some pretty heavy weight on her shoulders and while Knox was willing to help lift it, I was cheering her onward to do what her soul needed her to do. There were times when her story felt like cuts across my own soul.
Oh my gosh, Knox was amazingly perfect in every way. The little bit of conflict in the beginning was like baiting a hook and I was taking it as fast as I could. When that conflict included his moments with Drake, holy heck, I was scrambling to figure it all out. While Knox wasn’t insanely alpha despite all his gooey hotness, the epilogue showed a side of him that had me jumping and yelling for joy, figuratively, of course. I love the type of alpha protectiveness portrayed in the style here.

’He strode toward me, taking my face in his hands. “Then here’s another truth. I’m going to take them. I’m going to take all of your bests. Every da– one until you can’t keep track of the top five anymore because there are so many bests that you’ll need a hundred to capture them all.”
“Promise?” I whispered.
“I swear it.”’
[image]
This had a steady build up that made me feel twitchy, constantly waiting for the so-called “other shoe” to drop. The anticipation almost killed me. This was definitely one of those books that is impossible to set down and walk away from and had me reading late into the night in order to finish it.

Oh my gosh this narration was amazing!!! Ms. Campbell brought each of these characters fully to life as though I were standing next to them. With variations on the accents, there were never two characters that sounded the same. Add in the fact that her voice carried all the depth and emotion this heroine and her accompanying cast experienced and I was totally engulfed in the realm of the marsh girl.
Holy heck this book was everything I had heard it would be and more. My heart hurt for Kya as she survived in a place and time and in a way that is unimaginable in today’s world, but unfortunately realistic back in the 60s.
So much of this book takes place in isolation with really no dialogue except for that of Kya and her gulls or other nature and wildlife, or to a family that is no longer present. And yet, this never lagged, never bogged down and I never grew bored. In fact, I couldn’t listen to this enough. I refused to turn it off when I usually would do so as I was consumed with everything about this book.
I’m not a writer so there’s no way I can express how absolutely stunning this book was in every way. And while it deserves to be on the big screen, there is no way anyone could do it justice. Definitely a book I’ll relisten to...numerous times.

Due to the difference in social status between this couple, the story is set up, and I knew I was in for an emotional ride. The fact that Titus had loved Honoria for so long was the first reason I adored him. Watching him continue to love her throughout the years was enough to make me love him all the more.

My heart went out to both of these characters. Lord, I wanted to cry, shout, smack a father, and give comfort to this hero and heroine. I’m not sure when the last book had me walking such an emotional edge. I loved it!
”And you were the dream I didn’t dare to allow myself to hope for, even then.”
I was giddy with excitement as Nora is given advice that would lead her to do something unexpected. How original and unique! Watching it unfold was another angsty moment but also filled with giddy hopefulness, a bit of what I hope is the set up for a following book.

Along with the beautiful angst, this book is filled with wonderful characters, a touch of action/drama, as well as enough to heat to make what was between Titus and Nora believable. Can’t wait to read the next book!

Luna’s character surprised me and my heart immediately went out to her. Gunner was the perfect hero and I loved that he was so protective of her. She had endured so much and his calm, patient acceptance of what she needed to heal was beautiful.
This has a lot of drama and action and reading about the knights’ fights, caused my heart to race each and every time. However, none of that affected me as much as Gunner’s reaction when Luna was in danger. Holy heck, these knights are frightfully amazing when their mates are at risk and none, more so, than Gunner.
I loved that this has a few other stories running in the background and I know the wait for their conclusion is going to kill me. While this book could be read as a stand alone, you might feel a bit lost so I recommend you read the previous books first.

This series has completely stolen my heart but Cash and Katherine absolutely OWN it!!! Oh, the angst of unrequited love! Katherine has loved Cash for years but has been solidly placed in the “friend zone” with a side of “like family” to ensure she’ll never have the relationship she desires with him. So of course, a classic Cadillac convertible comes into play and Kat sets off to rid herself of the emotions the unattainable cowboy stirs in her.
I respected the heck out of Kat and the life she had worked so hard for. Because of her past she is hungry for love and a family that she can truly call her own. I totally understood her actions and reactions when it came to Cash as well as the rest of the family.
Cash on the other hand was a typical man with his inability to see what was right there in front of him and that is what sets up the angst that drives this story. However, I loved watching him wake up to his feelings as well as his patience at gaining more information from Kat regarding her history.
This is fast paced with characters that felt like friends, a touch of witty banter, and a backdrop that was brilliantly created. This chemistry between Kat and Cash was of the five-alarm variety even during a heartfelt epilogue that was perfect for this heroine. Highly recommending another friends-to-lovers book by one of the only authors that can do them right.

Never before have I met a book hero that knew exactly what was needed to help heal his woman while making a place for himself in her life. Matt has definitely earned a place on my favorite hero list and it’s going to be a while before another can outshine him.
This is written with so much heart as Erin is showcased by this author as being first a victim before moving into a survivor. But she’s barely surviving until new friends and Matt bring a support system that helps her to step into warrior mode. Watching this change was absolutely beautiful. The fact that it revolved around her strength made it all the more wonderful.
While there isn’t a lot of drama, this has a fast pace as Matt and Erin’s relationship develops. Once I started reading I could not stop. I loved this couple so much. The drama that is sprinkled throughout was just enough to keep me on edge about what would happen. Secondary characters are revisited and some of them were more fully developed which makes me hopeful they will get their own books.

The chemistry between Lila and Jesse is to the extreme! The fact that Jesse is one dirty talking biker adds to the heat factor. And yet, this isn’t just one smexy scene after another. It's two people falling in love as they wade through everything life has thrown their way.

Lila, sweet, kind and gentle was so much more than what she appeared on the surface. I love a heroine like her to switch things up sometimes and this was the perfect time. I especially appreciated that she didn’t yield to Jesse after he had messed up and she made him work for it.
While Jesse was resistant to forming a relationship with Lila, he also didn’t want her with anyone else. When he finally got his act together to go for her, he was fierce, determined, protective and wildly jealous.

Both of these characters have quite a bit of baggage from their families that affects the way they not only perceive themselves but that colors their relationships. This contributed to the drama with just a little relationship angst added in.

I don’t recall if the beginning of their relationship is covered in another book, but I missed it being included here. I really like to watch the hero trying to woo his heroine and I would have loved to see Jesse do so with Lila as she was pretty innocent and he was so protective of her.
Overall, this book kept me engaged from the first page. With a fast pace, perfect drama, and scenes that left me in a melted puddle, I read this in one sitting. Definitely recommending this one!
Dual POV Safe (view spoiler)[some ow/om drama - h’s ex threatens her but it doesn’t cause a break up - H’s sister-in-law who he’s rescued from his brother is lost and confused and causes a little drama but mostly it’s the h’s perception of the situation that causes her drama; h not a virgin but only had sex once; H is a manwhore until he met h; when H is drunk he screws up with h by not realizing who she is and accepting her attempts to seduce him which then makes him seem like a douche for being so easy, he also is very rude to her during that epidsode (hide spoiler)] Triggers (view spoiler)[domestic abuse; emotional abuse; religious constraints (hide spoiler)]...more
Holy heck, this has all the angst expected in a love triangle but even more so because two of these characters are brothers. That’sFive angsty stars!!
Holy heck, this has all the angst expected in a love triangle but even more so because two of these characters are brothers. That’s not a spoiler as we were given quite a few clues regarding them in the previous books. The fact that so much of this plotline revolved around not hurting one of the brothers kept my heart heavy throughout the story. I knew who she wanted and would ultimately choose, but oh my gosh, my heart hurt for the one not chosen.

Emily was exactly what you might expect with her red hair and fiery spirit to match. With a sharp word she pulled these boys in and made them her own but what really drew me to her was her kind heart, her concern for them. Despite being tender in nature toward the wounded, she was more than capable of standing up to these men when the occasion warranted it.
Ezra was known in their circle of friends as Violence, but I have to confess I didn’t really see that characteristic, at least not in the way I expected, and I was actually quite glad of it. I went into this book a bit leery of the violence and how it might showcase itself. He was very well developed and I loved that it took him one special moment to completely fall for Emily, and that moment centers around the very core of his pain and torment. Although he had shared her with his brother in the past, at the heart of him is a man who is demanding that he claim her as his own.

This has more relationship drama than anything else, but it does leave us a lot of clues that only adds to more questions regarding this group of men and their families. I cannot wait to find out how everything ties together. We also do not see the dissolution of Mason and Emily’s engagement so I’m expecting that to possibly come into play with the extended plot.

Each of these books has an abundance of wonderful characters and we learned even more about a few of them in this one. The steam level between Emily and Ezra was excruciatingly hot even as those scenes builds not only their relationship but their characters as well. Love how this author utilizes everything to build her world and characters.
I suggest you read the previous books before this one but be prepared to get caught up in this dark and gritty world of antiheroes.
