I don't think I've ever read something where the omega didn't magically start loving the assigned alphas/pregnancy forced upon him.
Ray is pissed, miserable, doesn't want anyone to touch him, hates when anyone puts his unborn before him, and just wants to be alone.
Have I found my spirit animal? If anyone can relate to having the chesticular fortitude to be a miserable bitch no matter the circumstance, IT'S ME.
Part of me understands why this book received such low ratings - people want a happy ending, where everyone's fine and accepting of their lot in life, even if it starts off angsty. This book is NOT that. I love it even more for that very reason....more

I can't quite figure out what Yugo's deal is. Is he a psycho/sociopath? It seems like he experiences something akin to remorse for how he treats Kuon, but it's not easily identifiable as such. Yugo can't seem to put a name to it, either.
He goes through periods of blind rage, where he nearly kills his captive, and then periods where he seeks some twisted sort of comfort from him, wishes to give Kuon pleasure. I don't fully believe it's for Kuon's sake, though. It's more like a cruel child who has gotten tired of burning ants with a magnifying glass or pulling wings off flies, suddenly decided to try something new. To see if he can nurture the little beings and foster something akin to familiarity or affection.
And that's what it comes down to. Yugo is almost child-like in his inability to control, categorize and convey his emotions. He does things and seems confused by the consequences/reactions they bring.
The whole concept of this book is very strange.
Did I cry? Yes. Because Kuon was freaking mentally tortured to the very end.

P.S. (view spoiler)[That scene immediately after Yugo rapes Kuon was INSANE. I feel like I need to create a tag for sex injuries, just for that alone. Later, Kuon almost freaking DIES. (hide spoiler)]...more

I can say, with almost 100% surety, that the author had a dream/daydream about this and then wrote it down. For a lot of folks who like mpreg, this is a pretty standard ideation. Just a step above primitive mating.
While it leaves a little to be desired due to the boar god not forming any sort of intimate bond with his "offering" Sander, it does make sense. He's a god. He is untouchable by human wants, other than the need to procreate and the resulting like during the process.
I'm not really sure how to categorize this...mmm? That would imply a love triangle, which this isn't. It's not love, nor is whatever intimacy between Sander, the boar god, and another omega offering equally shared. Menage is ruled out. A lust corner? 2 beings focusing their mindless lust and devotion on the god? Sander finds friendship, and a true depth of caring for the other omega offering. It was genuinely nice to see....more

Miguel is on a mission to avenge the murder of his family in Mexico. His mother has made it her mission (and in turn, Miguel's mission) too see then end of Raul Moreno, head of the Moreno Cartel in Columbia. However, getting to him isn't so easy. Miguel works his way up the ranks and becomes Nero Moreno's bodyguard. Nero, the heir of the Moreno Cartel is an outlier in every way. Tattooed and scarified, pierced dingaling, teeth filed to sharps points, and deadly. Oh, and gay. Unapologetically fucking everything that moves, Nero makes it his own life mission to crack the facade that Miguel has around him as an emotionless, exasperated, and presumably straight bodyguard. In the process, he realizes that their goals aren't so dissimilar.
---END SUMMARY---
TL;DR - Miguel is a robot with a gooey center. Nero is an actual lizard man with broken emotions.
---------
Now, you'd think that Nero would be the hottest of messes in this duo, but it all depends on how you look at it. Miguel's life mission being to put himself in the line of fire to end Raul Moreno's reign isn't something a mother would make her last remaining child do, right? Yeah, well, their relationship is toxic AF. Miguel sees himself as a tool with one purpose. What will he do when that purpose no longer exists?
Other than his mission, he doesn't create a life for himself. He lives, breathes, and eats the taste of killing Raul Moreno. That doesn't leave much room for himself to develop as a person. He has his demons, but the biggest one is his unwanted attraction to Nero. Something that doesn't fit into his plans.
Nero, on the other hand is over the top and larger than life. Bright hair, gaudy fashion sense - don't let his appearance fool you. Even when he's fucking someone, they're not safe. He's every bit as deadly as the caimans tattooed on his body. Sexed up product of nepotism, he is actually as naive as Miguel in many ways. There's a scene where he gets turned into one of these:
[image] [image] (if the images are broken, just imagine a lizard lollipop)
and Miguel is worried for him, physically and mentally, and Nero brushes it off as not being a huge deal because he's 'been through worse.' He's more moved that Miguel cares about anything happening to him.
They both come across as bumbling fools when it comes to acknowledging their attraction for each other, so you can imagine how they are at acknowledging the depth of the feelings they have for each other.
As much of a hot mess that they BOTH are, they still come across as sweet, and romantic on top of possessive and aloof. The fun times didn't last as long as I've hoped before shit hit the fan, but it's a bonus if you love action and drama.

Also, these characters are weird af. They kinda feel like cartoons. Like, I can't picture actual human beings while reading this. Connecting with either of the MCs is out of the question.

Like I said - dummies.
But they're so cute, like dumb golden retrievers. Well, Liv is more a black lab, but I digress. They have exceptionally shitty luck on top of that, so you can probably tell that this book was full of wtf/face-palm moments. They made my eyes sweat, multiple times, I admit it. They are flawed, but they don't mean to do the crappy things they sometimes ended up doing. Their dumb little hearts are so pure.

The story starts off a dub-con: Colt's wife, Bethany, abandons him after cheating on him, leaving her college-age son Quin behind. Colt gives Quin an ultimatum - replace his mother as his tradwife, or leave his home, money, and security behind. Quin, used to mooching off of the wealthy men his mother dates/marries, reluctantly agrees to the arraignment.
Though it started off dubiously, Quin soon realizes that maybe all of these things aren't as foreign and unwanted as he thought they were. Colt realizes that Quin means more to him than a means to fulfil his kink....more
