I think I can confidently state that Agatha Christie would be immensely delighted with the author's characterisation and plot line - not to mention the excellent, ultimate plot twist.
On the strength of my enjoyment of this novel, I've ordered the others in the series, and can't wait to read of Hercule and Catchpool's earlier adventures together....more

Sharon Bolton's novels never disappoint and The Fake Wife is no exception. The storyline moves along swiftly and the characters are very well-drawn.

The relationship between the two detectives is something which I hope the author will use as a starting point for a future series of novels, as it really does work well.
This was a straight 5* for me with a conclusion I definitely see coming.

I found DC Ffion Morgan a likeable and engaging lead character, and the descriptions of the North Wales landscape add a picturesque background to the drama.
Oh, and my review wouldn't be complete without a shout-out to Dave the Dog - hope to read more about him in future DC Ffion Morgan novels, too! ...more
