Rate this book
Everyone deserves a happy ending.

Especially Posy Reiling, the decidedly not evil stepsister from An Offer From a Gentleman. She's been living with the Bridgertons for three years, but despite Violet's most fervent matchmaking, she hasn't found a husband. #1 New York Times bestselling author Julia Quinn loves to dispel the myth that smart women don't read (or write) romance, and and if you watch reruns of the game show The Weakest Link you might just catch her winning the $79,000 jackpot. She displayed a decided lack of knowledge about baseball, country music, and plush toys, but she is proud to say that she aced all things British and literary, answered all of her history and geography questions correctly, and knew that there was a Da Vinci long before there was a code.

A graduate of Harvard and Radcliffe Colleges, Ms. Quinn is one of only sixteen members of Romance Writers of America’s Hall of Fame. Her books have been translated into 32 languages, and she lives with her family in the Pacific Northwest.

The Bridgertons, her popular series of historical romance, is currently in production by Shondaland as a Netflix original series starring Julie Andrews, Phoebe Dynevor, and Rége-Jean Page.

Audiobook: Narrator - Rosalyn Landor

I’m officially a fan of this narrator! She does an exceptional job of bringing the characters to life in a way that pulls me completely into the book to the point I don’t want to pause or stop the story. Her accent is such that I don’t need to adjust the speed or struggle to understand it. She also does a great job of distinguishing between the various characters both male and female.

I loved the Cinderella feel of this story but I especially loved the way Benedict was totally taken by his lady in silver through the years. That kind of dedication is exactly what I look for. Sophie was a strong heroine even when she was being beaten down by her circumstances. When Benedict came along, she knew who she was and what she wanted (or didn't want) in life and stuck to it.

I’m loving all the Bridgertons and I’ve refused to look ahead at the series and I’m not reading blurbs so I’m going in blind and that’s making this all the more fun. I can’t help but queue up the next book immediately.

It is about Posy and not about Sophie and Benedict who happen to be one of my favorite couples, so it was a little disappointment for me. But just a little, as I liked Posy’s novella very much: a budding romance is always captivating, especially love at first sight. And as usual, it's also written in a very engaging way.

Sophie and Benedict appear in this story, and they are lovely.
Benedict nodded slowly. “Do you think I should go out there?”
“Don’t you dare!”
“So I’m not supposed to protect her honor?”
“It’s her first kiss!”
He quirked a brow. “And here we are, spying on it.”
“It’s my right,” Sophie said indignantly. “I arranged the whole thing.”

I'm glad this sweet novella was written! I felt the 1st epilogue forgot about Posy. I'm glad to read the 2nd epilogue covered her deserved HEA.

What a lovely short story! To be fair, those who haven't read (and loved) the Bridgertons series won't enjoy this additional epilogue written by JQ. Obviously, I loved it. It was like revisiting old friends, and I was more than glad to find them still living well and enjoying the HEA promised in their original books.

As usual, JQ's witty writing was sharp as ever and I found myself laughing more than once. Here's one of my favorite quotes:

"Would you like some tea?"
"I would love some," Mr. Woodson said to Posy. "Above all else."
"How do you take it?" Posy asked.
"However you wish."
Oh now, this was too much. No man fell so blindingly into love that he no longer held a preference for his tea. This was England, for heaven’s sake. More to the point, this was tea.

Such a sweet little story! It's about one of Sophie's stepsisters, the one who always tried to be nice to her, but couldn't fully be because of their awful mother.

I was glad to see that Posy found her happily ever after. She and her suitor's love at first sight was adorable. It was also lovely to see her and Sophie getting along now that they were able to.

Thus far, this was the laziest epilogue of the 3 I have encountered. I am glad that Posy got her match. he even seemed like a good fit, but there just wasn't anything that stood out much about it.

It was more teenager make-out cringe than romance.

There was less Bridgerton insight in this than the others which made them enjoyable little extras.

Just ok. 2 Stars

“Oh, my. Maybe we should do something.”
“They’re not on the ground yet.”
“Benedict!”
“Normally I’d say to call the priest,” he remarked, “except that seems to be what got us into this mess in the first place.”

The Second Epilogue gives Posey a chance at happiness, the story following her on a visit at Sophie and Benedict's country home. Here, Sophie is determined to find a match for her sister and, having been charmed by the smile of the new vicar, she had decided to arrange a meeting between the two of them.

“And he doesn’t even look at my bosom!”
“Posy!”
“It’s my only good feature.”

It was fun, but short. I was happy to see Posey finding some happiness and I guess it was also nice to see a glimpse of the future Benedict and Sophie have together.

Glad that the second Epilogue was about Posy, Sophie's step sister. I'm also very happy, that she got her happy ending.

I’m really happy for Posie(I still don’t know how to write her name). She deserves a good husband and a happy and loving family like Sofi(I don’t know how to write her name either). Minty I just love it 😂.
“Oh, that was too much. No man falls so blindly in love that he loses all his preferences for tea. It was England, for God's sake! Especially since it was about tea.”

“We can't see them from here, but we can from my studio.
For two seconds, none of them moved. But only two seconds”

“"So I'm not expected to defend her honor?"
"This is her first kiss!"
He arched his eyebrows.
"And we're spying on her."

“"You know," said Benedict thoughtfully, "someday we might have a daughter."
"Please?"
He waved at the lovers on the lawn.
"Well this could be a great opportunity to exercise." I think I want to be a terribly overprotective father. I could go out and tear it to pieces.
Poor Mr. Woodson wouldn't stand a chance.
"I could challenge him to a duel—" I feel sorry for his future daughter 😂

Very cute! It's a little epilogue of Posy (the sweet stepsister) finding her own love and Sophie being the matchmaker behind it.
