Removed The Colors of the Rain, which is 2018. Also removed Bilal Cooks Daal, I Will Be Fierce, A Friend for Henry, Maybe Tomorrow, Conan the Librarian, Old MacDonald Had a Baby, and The Itty Bitty Witch, which are all picture books.
Removed Ana Maria Reyes Does Not Live in a Castle. This is a 2018 release.
Looks like someone ignored the rules and had their fans vote a self published book to the number 1 spot. This book is also on a bunch of YA lists. I asked the author, and apparently the two MCs are 15, while the frame story has a 12 year old character. Opinions on whether this should be removed?

if it violated any gr rules by having fans upvote it then definitely. seems shady??
it has ya as its genre on its gr page (but that's only two people??) so i say, let the author choose and only keep it on one type of list. it's not fair to be on the mg and ya lists.

Thanks for the heads up, Laina. I removed The Wizard's Daughter. Not only is it YA, it's also a 2018 release.
Rachel, I do agree The Legends of Eve should be deleted based on Jasmine's note, "We ask authors to please refrain from voting or inviting their fans to vote on this list." Not to mention the age of the characters makes it an iffy inclusion. Perhaps we should leave it up to Jasmine?

I went ahead and removed it because all the cover copy and reviews list it as YA, not MG.

Rachel, I do agree The Legends of Eve should be deleted based on Jasmine's note, "We a..." And because of the bumping it to the top of the list situation.

That's a good question. Leslie Connor mostly writes middle grade, although she has written YA in the past. I will ask on the book's page and report back with any news.
Cool :) I tweeted at the author, but she doesn't seem to be very active. Hard to tell at this point, but I did notice it was on another YA list.
I searched through the list and couldn't find my book KAZU JONES AND THE DENVER DOGNAPPERS. Any way that could be added?
Removed Ghost Squad, The Good Hawk, The Thief Knot, and The Winterborne Home for Vengeance and Virtue, which all got pushed to 2020, along with several other pre-2019 releases.
Thanks for the heads up, Kerrie.
Good grief, this list just got hit with a bunch of people adding non-2019 releases. I removed all the ones I could find. If you spot any others, let me know.

Removed Birdie and Me, Pixie Pushes On, Taylor Before and After, and Martin McLean, Middle School Queen, which all got pushed to 2020. Also deleted a few non-2019, non-MG titles.
Removed Summer and July, The Inside Battle, The Legacy of the Stewardship, Green Lantern: Legacy, and Batman: Overdrive, which all got pushed to 2020. Also deleted Coral, which was delayed until 2021.
Thanks for the heads up, Bobbie. I removed Amal Unbound, along with a few other pre-2019 releases. Also deleted Connect the Dots, The Colossus of Roads, and When She Came Back, which all got pushed to 2020.
The first two Nevermoor books (the Trials of Morrigan Crow and Wondersmith) are both lovely, vote-worthy books, but neither were published in 2019.
Thanks for the heads up. I removed Wundersmith, although I didn't see the first book you mentioned anywhere. Also deleted Warrior Queens and We Are Makers, which are non-fiction, not novels.
"Maniac Magee" and "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" should both be removed, as they were published DECADES ago. "The Lost Scroll of the Physician" has been pushed to 2020.
Yikes, thanks for the heads up! Looks like someone went crazy with the non-2019 releases. I removed all the ones that I saw. Let me know if you spot any others.
@jenny the kindle edition still had the original 2019 release date but i edited it and removed it from the list. i'll make sure it's added to the 2020 list
