THE ULTIMATE BILLIONAIRE FINDS HIS MATCH.
He doesn't mind sharing with his best friends, but that gets quickly complicated when he meets her.

Bigger than life, James Sexton has everything. Money, looks, power.
Men want to be like him. Women want to be with him.

Sheltered and idealistic, Rain Morgan stumbles upon him and his two best friends, the three young billionaires living like modern-day Kings in a wealthy town not far from Aspen, Colorado.

Surrounded by mystery, they fascinate Rain and her best friend, Eve, igniting their imagination.
Intrigued, Rain and Eve break into the billionaire's secret mansion, setting in motion a chain of events.

Getting involved with an innocent woman is not James' style, but stepping away from a dare isn't either.

A book lover and a storyteller since she was a kid, Shayne writes stories that blend romance, suspense, a hint of darkness at times, humor, and real-life bits.

A suspenseful, spicy romance with a layered plot is what she likes best.

Her lead men are broody, dominant, and alpha all the way.

They keep their cards close to the vest and can be morally gray.

They lead, love passionately, and challenge their women. Therefore, they are far from perfect.

If you enjoy what she likes, you are not alone.

The readers who share her taste devour her books.

Her books best suit readers who like their stories mixed with spice, a shred of mystery, a dash of darkness, and (sometimes) slow burn.

3.5 actually

This book was fast paced... an instant gratification type of book with a cliffhanger.
I like it..didn't love it actually but if you're in a mood for something 'light' then give this one a go.. it's short but keeps you satisfied. It has your 'typical' bad boy, an innocent girl, and a sister I hated from the core of my being.

Do you see my dilemma? I've finished this book, now hours ago, and I still can't.

I.

Just.

Can't.

So, here's the gist of why this book has me like this:

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

When I get Arcs, or sign up for them, I'm expecting a good read. Sometimes, I'm let down, but when an author trusts me enough to throw their book in my lap, I just shake my head, and say, "You're crazy."

Why?

There is so much criticism!! I hate when an author almost steps on forbidden territory and then takes a COMPLETE 180 turn.

eh eh eh
city of bones

blah blah blah what?

I hate it in books. I hate when and author has me so pumped and then I turn the page, and it's like they should just stop and write, "LOL FUCK YOU."
So, most of my 1s are because of that reason, or for others which I won't bore you with. Now let's get to the nitty gritty.

SPOILER

i don't do spoilers, support the author and read the book for yourself, i'm not gonna tell you the climax, plot, and conclusion, so joke's on you sucka!

Sorry!

For real, here I go.
Talking about climaxes, well there were a...few steamy bits

JAMES, definitely lives up to the NA genre, and I applaud Ford for her connection. She even makes it a quick read, which in this case was awesome! She gets straight to the point, and like it says in her author description, she writes what she wants to read. So you don't get a Dianetics book thrown at you here!

Rain, probably wasn't my favorite character, but she did keep the story flowing. Eve was eh, and Daria, kept the drama alive. Although with all this three way of girls, Ford brought along the boy threesome!

Holy Jesus H. Roosevelt Christ.

Lex was so fucking hard to understand, Ed was a little awkward, but James he was a fucking masterpiece.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

When starting I was on the fence with James, but by the time I got to the finish line, I was rooting for him more then Rain. Was this wrong of me....fuck yes. I do believe that Ford set Rain up to be the protagonist and James the antagonist. I mean when we read we should love and root for someone and scream and yell at another. I wasn't like this. I read a James POV steamy scene to my husband and proceeded to through my iPad at him, because I wanted that lust and control James has.

Why I didn't like Rain? She was just a little to whinny for my taste. She wanted him, then she didn't. Back and forth, back and forth. Most of the time, I was screaming at her to just shut the fuck up and hump the billionaire.

she listened to me too

So now I'm done talking about the messy bits, and on to the ending.

I DON'T SPOIL, SO DON'T EXPECT IT.

I wasn't expecting it. I was at 95% finished and I had to stop and just, just....well:

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

yeah, didn't go to well when I got to 100. I guess I was expecting more of a 'conclusion' then I realized that the series continues and I bought that shit.

so yep.

then you're probably asking--if you got this far--why I gave 4s. one word.

Rain.

I just, I couldn't handle it anymore. I wanted a really strong female, which I like in a lot of books, but Rain was just like, here, take it. <-- you'll understand when you read it. If Rain just gave a little more chase, then 5s all around the clock.

Finally, here's the FINAL COUNTDOWN!

steamy: 5s
naughty language: 5s
characters: 4s
fuckable guys: 99999999999999999999999999s
final rating: 4.999999999999s

there ya have it!
love you babes

5 stars for sure!

This is a story about Rain and James.
Money has never been an issue for both of them I must say.
Only James has it all. He's the heir of his father's business. He's one of the kings of the dark castle. So young and powerful. It's easy to fall for him. He's following his father's steps and that includes to be totally closed to love.

Rain is taking a sabbatical year after high school. She's writing a book and is completely dependent of her parents She's trying to remedy that.
Despite being so young she realizes that her parents don't have the best marriage. That her sister is marrying out some douche only for the money and that she has nothing of her own.

When they met everything else stops. They emotions are well written in this book. It was insta-love but neither of them realized that because Rain never experienced nothing like that and James aversion to love.

They need to learn a lot of things.

I don't even want to write about how stupid James was at the end of this book!

Oh this book got me so hooked from the beginning!

Such an easy book to read.
I can't wait to read the other ones!

I totally recommend this!

I couldn't put this book down. James is the bad boy while Rain is innocent. FYI I hated to love James. Rain sister Daria is rude and awful to her. James and his friends Lex and Eddie run a adult club. Where married people have affairs. Rain and James were in all honest perfect for each other. Overall my favorite book and can't wait for the next part.

This book seriously confused me. In the beginning, I thought the heroine was some country-bumpkin of a girl who lived in the middle of nowhere. But it turns out she's from some super-wealthy family that has tons of money? And then I thought the hero was some fancy-schmancy billionaire, but it turns out he's a biker?!? And why is there a sex club in this podunck little town, and why does our super-rich heroine, whose mother leaves her and her sister alone for days, not have enough independence to have a driver's license and her own car, and instead has to peddle her bike everywhere. And is she 18 or 19? C'mon, let's be consistent here. What the hell kind of story is this? And how stupid are James and his friends? I pictured the Three Amigos, not three hot and schmexy billionaires, with how they talk and act around each other. Ugh, stopped after not even 30 percent. Just could not lose any more brain cells to this story.

Spellbindingly delicious storytelling...chomping at the bit to finish the rest of the series!

I received an Advance Reader Copy for James: Night Of The Kings Series Book 1 written by Shayne Ford and voluntarily reviewed this book. What a storyteller, and this is the first story I have read from this author. When I read the part about the Kings rolling in all mysteriously, cloaked in darkness, spied upon by Rain and her friend, I was totally drawn into the story from then on, and I could not put it down until I finished it.

The posse of Kings is lead by James Sexton, who is twenty-five and has never known anything beyond his privileged way of life. He is used to everything being handed to him and just has always gotten his way. He had learned at his father's knee that women are not to be trusted, and therefore, James neither wants nor needs any particular female in his life...until he sees Rain standing in front of him, so unique and special that even he can see through his own bulls**t walls. As Rain and James spend more time together, Rain blossoms, and as some of Kings' secrets slowly become revealed, Rain is forced to re-evaluate everything and everyone around her and make some hard choices. After all, James and his boys, Lex and Ed, are all just there for business and pleasure, so where does she really fit into all this, if at all? This story has a well-woven storyline, along with a well-defined cast of characters, and I am very much looking forward to more layers and secrets being revealed.

This book gave me the feels! When I first started I struggled to put together what the book was about but that's because I didn't read the blurb. But the way Shayne writes is brilliant, I felt the tension between the characters. Very well written.

Headline: I read, “To be Continued.” My reaction, "What the F**k!!"
The first 3 words caused the immediate reaction of the next 3 words. I yelled it so loud, I made myself jump along with my husband and 2 cats. I received James: A Night of the Kings Novel by Shayne Ford for my honest and voluntary review.
I don’t know how and I don’t know why, but this has got to be the one of the hottest books I have ever read, and that is saying something. I love me some smut. I’m not sure if it was the content itself, or if it was the way Shayne Ford was able to write it. All I know is…Damn.
Rain and James took my mind on a freaking amazing ride. One that I was not ready to stop. The next book needs to come out, like, YESTERDAY! Love the book, hate the cliffhanger. It still gets a 5-star review from me though, no doubt about it.
I’m not sure what else to say. My mind is mush. I’m so…..I’m not even sure how to describe it.
Basically, I highly recommend this book. If you are like me and HATE cliffhangers, add it to your wish list or “to-be-read” list and wait for next book. I can already tell you, with Shayne Ford writing it, it will be worth it. Happy Reading!
Quick Note: Starting reading 9PM. Finished 1AM. I couldn't put it down. I couldn't even look away.

Personally this book didn’t do anything for me. Yes, it does end in a cliffy. Which I am intrigued to know what happens next but not intrigued enough to move forward.
Book 1-
*heroine and her best friend are 18 year olds girls that are virgins. They, well mostly the Best friend, talk about taking and wanting to do the next step. They are only getting older per them. The heroine is a little more reserved until she meets one of the Kings, aka James.
* the H/H meet. He is dangerous and she is innocent
*the heroine sister is horrible, a bully, etc
* the heroine finally goes the next step and that is basically the rest of the book-if not all.
Its a repetitive book with the sister being a bully and the heroine finding out her family isn’t so perfect after all.

It’s not a bad book, the writing was good. It was just a skimmer for me. And not something I’ll remember tomorrow

**I received this ARC in exchange for an honest voluntary review** WARNING: This ends with the dreaded cliffhanger!! Shayne is a new author for me even though I do own her other books & I'm definitely intrigued. Really didn't know what to expect with this story but I'm glad I picked it up. Interesting dynamic between James, the 25 y/o billionaire that doesn't believe in love or commitment & Rain, the 19 y/o naive virgin. Awesome development of all characters & the interactions between them all, especially between James, Lex & Ed. Very interested in a little more background with them. Good story pacing, even with a cliffhanger. I love that Shayne has put time throughout the relationship & it's not insta-love. Makes it all the more realistic. Definitely cannot wait for part 2 of this story & the other respective stories for Lex & Ed! Would recommend :)

I struggled at first to like this book. There are a bunch of grammatical mistakes that are sometimes hard to overlook; grammar can really make or break a story for me! At times the storyline seemed choppy, and the connection between the characters seemed like it came out of no where without really any detail or build-up. It almost seemed unrealistic (although let's be real, are any of these connections realistic? Lol!) However, I did find the premise of the book to be interesting & engaging, and as the book progressed I really started to become hooked! The book has a good balance of drama and spice. I am bummed that it ended on a cliffhanger, because now I have to decided if I will read the next one! :)

Rain Morgan think her life is going pretty good but she constantly has issues with her older sister Daria. One night she goes to Red's and meets a man out in the parking lot who intrigues her but she knows he could break her heart.

James Sexton owns Red's and a lot of other properties in town. He is known as a womanizer along with his best friends, Lex and Ed.

James guards his heart tightly and as Rain begins to break down his walls will he let her in or find a way to break her heart?

This was an interesting book about love and betrayal.

I really liked Rain with all of her innocence at the beginning and then almost a naive sense of what was going to happen with James. Rain truly fell in love with James but couldn't do what she needed to in order to keep him with her. At the same time she had to deal with her evil sister Daria who seemed to have some jealousy when it comes to Rain but it is unclear why.

I definitely had a lot of mixed feelings when it came to James as he had a hardened heart for sure and freally didn't want to let Rain get to close to him. Yet he didn't want to let her go either and it almost became a bit of a cat and mouse game between the two of them. James also had a cruel side that allowed Rain to get hurt even though he warned her that she would never "have" him.

I was super mad at James at the end of the book and I am really looking forward to the next book and seeing what Rain is able to make of herself.

One Word - BINDING-STORY!

ARC provided by author in exchange for an honest review

I started reading this book and actually speaking I am coming back to finally review this when actually I am done with the whole series that is all 3 books of James Story. Interesting story and great writing style Shayne!

This books has several elements to bind anyone to it like:

1) Innocence
2) Romance
3) Bad Billionaire boy with all pomp and show of wealth
4) Full on Hot Sex Gods ;P
5) Drama
6) Arrogance
7) Amazing hot Love scenes
8) Friendship

The Story is about this cute little innocent virgin - Rain who is totally oblivious of harshness of life. Innocent or not, she is super confident and stubborn, if she wants something then she heads for it to achieve it, no matter what. She falls for this Billionaire named James who is a super hot sex God and is a total jerk who gives no shit to relationships with women.

This amazing story goes along these lines and finally pushing Rain to understand that James might throw her away once he gets bored of her and she makes some decisions on that basis and James does too. Now what happens is in the book 2 XD

Definitely Recommend!

This must be hands down one of the best stories I have ever read. You can't put it down and for all the right reasons. James is the ultimate hot alpha male. To make things steamier his two best friends are on par with him. The mystery, the settings, the love story, and the life tale are well put together in a cinematic flow. The dialogue is tight and smart and funny. The villain in form of Rain's sister is perfectly drawn. It's rare when a book hits flawlessly every single point on a desirability list. There's a mystery story, a love story, a sexy story (with some of the steamiest and tasteful scenes I ever read) a natural flow and progression that kept me entertained and guessing. There are twists and turns that you can tell draw inspiration from the real life. They made me feel as if I followed the story of real people. The characters are developed and captivating, and the author manages to describe them and their actions in such a way you feel the story as if you're them. The book does end on a cliffhanger, but it's not gratuitous as many are. It delivers everything and some, and the whole point of the ending is to mark a shifting point in the story and make you want read more. I definitely would. Great job.

James, a bad boy billionaire romance is the first of a series. It follows James, a local early 20's billionaire, 1 of 3 known as the Kings. James has inherited his fortune from his father, who died a few years ago. He is cynical about love and relationships after his mother walked out for a younger man when James was just a child. From there he's been exposed to escorts, and lived in a world where he sees men regularly cheat in their wives. Then there's Rain, an 18 year old virgin who to a certain extent idolises the idea of love. She hadn't given her virginity away, not because it is necessarily precious but because she hasn't found anyone she'd like to sleep with. She doesn't just want a sweet college guy, she wants someone to take charge, be slightly dangerous...so she offers herself to James. Then we follow the 2 of them, theirs chemistry, but James doesn't want the hassle and attachment of sleeping with a virgin. The 2 ultimately come together but can they give each other what they need, can Rain stand up to her parents, and how will ultimately hurt the other.
Really enjoyable easy read, looking forward to the next in the series already.

When Rain and her best friend Eve decide to try to catch a glimpse of The Kings it is for fun and out of curiosity. She has no idea the changes that this simple action will bring to her world. From the first moment of eye contact with James their attraction simmers and burns. Rain is eighteen and a virgin. James is twenty-five and doesn't believe in love or commitment. Once they meet neither on will be the same. When Rain is called upon to pick up her sister at Red's an adults only club. When her sister isn't waiting for her Rain must try to enter the club to find her and that is when she literally runs into James. This is the beginning of a passionate, heartwarming and yes heartbreaking love story. Everything is not wrapped up into a HEA at the end of this book and normally that would bother me. However, I am too interested and happy with the book to mind. I just want MORE and ASAP. Would love stories for Eve, Lex and Ed and hopefully with patients we will get them. I received an Arc copy of this book to provide an honest review.

Our "King" may be losing his crown
What you won't get from this first book:

*Answers -this ends on a cliffhanger - though I will be the first to admit I never saw it coming- it is written so that it does not lessen what you have already read - it's not like a mid-scene cliff hanger

*The Warm Fuzzies - there is no HEA here people just the brutal truth (We can blame the cliff hanger)

What you will get:
*One intriguingly twisted story about greed, lust, and corruption
*A book hangover - This is one of those books that you just have to know.. you have to turn just one more page, read just one more scene
* More questions than answers - I want to know more about the "Kings". We get a lot of glimpses and some great answers and backfill but Ford does a great job of just giving us enough to sate our appetites while leaving us starving for more

This should have been a 5 star read - it has everything and I am excited to move to book 2, yes I am thirsty for more - but!
3.6 Stars - due to a few grammar and scene errors

As much as I love Rain and James, I have to say I am disappointed with this book. There is obvious chemistry that Shayne does a great job bringing out. However, I felt that it was too fast. One minute Rain has no interest in being with a man and then boom she’s ready to give it all up to James after meeting him one time. There was no build up.

Once I got past this, I enjoyed the story and couldn’t wait for more. And then the end came. How dare he get pissed at her for wanting to move to New York when before she even told him, he cheats on her!? He blames her and says she’s just like every woman when he clearly isn’t any better. I wanted to jump through the pages and strangle him! He sets this double standard and it isn’t fair.

Having said this, I think the story has potential and I am looking forward to finishing the series. As I said in the beginning, I just wish there was more of a falling for Rain and not an immediate “get in my pants” reaction.

This is the first book that I have read by Shayne Ford and I have to say that the writing is outstanding. This book draws you in and you can't put it down until you find out what happens. Oh but the agony, it ends in a cliffhanger so I have to wait to find out more. I love the characters chemistry and their interactions. James and Rain have such wonderful connections that you just keep rooting for them. James is the all out hot, dangerous bad boy and Rain the good girl that is just a little bad. The writing is extremely well written and the flow of the story is superb. This is not the typical romance and that is perfectly fine because it is wonderful to have something different. This is a must read. I voluntarily review an advance reader copy of this book.

I was really pleased to do this honest review of an ARC I received from this fabulous author who has a knack of writing in great detail the psyche of all the characters which explains why they are all like they are. It begins with Rain and her best friend Eve. Fabulous start to this series. Darius is her slutty, devious sister who hates Rain with a passion. Rain then has her first meeting with James, Lex and Ed. James is not interested in a virgin at all or come to that any type of relationship. The rest of this first book becomes so interesting, dark with money, power and lies that never mix well. Jumping straight into the second book so that I can hurriedly get into doing my ARC of Lex. I'm absolutely loving this author and her great novels.

Shayne Ford has the unique ability to take her characters and storyline and weave a tale so realistic you feel like you know them and their situation personally. This isn't your glossed over boy meets girl love story. These characters are going through emotions and trials just like you and I. Even with all the flawed characters you won't be able to help yourself by falling in love with them. Rain is a 19 year old who has always been taken care of and has an idyllic belief in people and love. James has been raised by a father with money, a ruthless business sense, and a distrust in women. When these two come together, there will be an epiphany from both parties that you won't see coming. I always thoroughly enjoy Shayne's writings and am never disappointed.

The beginning of Rain and James' story.
*I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Hot guy + young, inexperienced girl with a wild streak= super hot story! I like that even though Rain was fairly innocent, she still had some wild in her which made her a fun character. James is your typical bad boy, never settling down guy, but I still loved him and want more. Daria is the absolute worst, can not stand her. I wish Rain would kick her ass already. I got through this all in one sitting and I'm excited to read book 2.
If you're looking for a fun, quick, and dirty read, here you go!

OH MY GOSH!! This is my first read for this author, and I am completely hooked! I am so checking out the rest of this series asap! The back story is given out throughout the book in ways that will keep you hooked. The dynamic between James and Rain is so different it is intriguing, James is world wise and understands that not all things are sunshine and rainbows. Rain is rather sheltered, she sees the good and happy things and doesn't see the real in life. I so want to enjoy the rest of their journey!

Omg!!!! James is a hard ass and young. Being only 25 years old and having money isn’t always easy. Rain is a young girl/women who has always wanted to be someone. She takes a year off to become a writer when she meets James outside of his bar to pick up her sister. She’s falls for him fast but he isn’t a relationship type of guy. Heck, he can go from one to another girl in a moment till something or someone catches his eye and he an Rain have a hidden life together but when things hit the fan they turn on each other quickly and James becomes nasty to Rain. I need more of this series.
