I love a story that ends with a kiss, whether it's a book or a movie. That's the big payoff! So that's the kind of books I like to write, and I call my style "cotton candy for the soul"-- light, sweet, gone. We all need a little escape from reality for a while, and escapist fiction can be the perfect remedy.

I'm a moderately bad housekeeper, I have a black thumb, and it takes a small miracle to get my hair to curl. My handsome husband and I live in the Arizona desert where we're raising our five children, who never let us stop laughing.

It's not a secret that I love a fun celebrity story, especially when a "normal" person is involved. Holly has basically given up to life to fulfill the items on her deceased fiance's bucket list and this list causes her to be a very selfless woman, which is what leads her to talk to Chet. He is a man who is very down on life after his wife of a dozen years passed away.

I fell so in love with the setting that I actually tried to find where Getaway Bay is so I can add it to my bucket list. But my big love was the characters. Chet and Holly have a larger-than-life romance that blossoms from out of nowhere, yet develops in a very natural and sweet way, albeit fairly quickly. I love how they each help and complement the other and are willing to do whatever it takes to assist in their individual healing. That bucket list really added a fun dimension to the story and brought Chet and Holly closer together. I was laughing out loud in several places, earning me a few strange looks from my husband.

The swoon was alive and well in this story! Jennifer Griffith has a knack for developing a very realistic and butterfly-inducing romance that resonates deep in my soul. The chemistry ignited flames in my heart that weren't easily put out, even when they weren't kissing. But their relationship is also more than physical, which made it impossible to discount. I was rooting for them from the start.

Content: mild+ swoony romance (steamy clean kissing); very vague talk of death

I might just be a little gushy, or fan girly in this review. I've been reading a lot of Jennifer Griffith's novels lately and I just absolutely love them. They're fun, witty, sweet, swoony and plenty of ups and downs to keep me hooked and reading. I love the characters. They are easy to connect with. The emotions that the author connects with them show characters who have heartaches and sorrow, yet they are trying to live a good life and find joy along the way. They're extremely funny as well. I think I really connected with Holly in this book due to her humor. I'm subscribed to this author's newsletter and she cracks me up with her stories (her real life stories). Her natural humor really comes through in her characters and their humor as well as joy for life. It's hard not to connect to these characters and their stories.

Holly and Chet are both trying to survive life after losing a person they loved dearly. Holly is working on a bucket list left behind by her fiance. Chet is pretty much in stasis after the death of his wife. After a chance meeting on the beach and some funny mistaken moments of identity in that initial meeting, chance seems to keep pushing them together.

I laughed so many different times while reading this book. Not just a little inside my head chuckle, but full on laughing out loud and couldn't stop laughing. These characters tickled my funny bone for sure.

There's plenty of mistaken identities, moments of healing, moments of sorrow, heart pounding sweet romance, beautiful Hawaii, a crazy character (female who was in love with Holly's fiance and out for revenge crazy), a volcano, a sinking boat, soup kitchen, plenty of fishing, designer clothing, audition challenges, heartthrob movie star, a crime to solve, action movie marathon, celebrity live tv challenge, swoony kisses, saying goodbye, saying hello, and most importantly two characters who find healing and learn to love again.

I know this has Christmas in the title, but don't let that stop you from reading this at any moment of the year. It's set in a beautiful, warm, sunny place and would be one I would happily read anytime of the year. I might be rereading it again soon, it was just that great! Oh, and the next book in this series is also by this author and coming out soon...it's going to be one of my upcoming reads pretty soon!

Content: Clean. Talk of death and loss of a loved one. I enjoyed how the author made the two main characters' relationship not feel more important than their previous relationships and love. She did a great job of showing that love can happen again and that there's not a need to compare the two relationships but to embrace the individual relationships for the uniqueness and joy that they are. Some kissing, some very mild innuendos, but nothing more.

I received a copy from the author. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.

Happy Reading!!!

This is one of those books that is exactly what the title says it is. It was about a billionaire (and the girl who thought he was a homeless dude), it was about being blue (he was widowed and her fiance died), and Christmas (and New Year's and stuff, but mostly Christmas with all the Christmas things you could ever want). It was also clean, and on a beach in Hawaii. So, that's pretty much all you need to know.

The Billionaire's Blue Christmas (Clean Billionaire Beach Club Romance #13) - PG
Violence: none
Language: nothing offensive
Sex: a couple kisses

It’s a good story and I fell into their world. I loved how Holly didn’t know Chet. Ugh, I totally felt the heartache they both shared. I’m a sucker for the “stars are real people” romance thing. I wish it were longer because I love these two together.

Reading Christmas romance books is almost as good as watching the newest Hallmark movie! I love the sweet plots, the way the story wraps up fairly quickly. And the characters!

Let’s start with Chet. He’s an actor. But he doesn’t look like one. He looks like a homeless man hanging out on the beach. Chet had lost his wife almost a year before the story opens and hasn’t learned how to function yet. I loved the way that when Holly talks to him, his world starts to come alive again. He really is a good guy, even if he is a wealthy actor.

Then there’s Holly. She’s a young woman who lost her fiance to war. Instead of coming up with her own life goals, Holly has taken her fiance, Rick’s, bucket list as her own to finish. I thought that was sweet, until I realized that almost everything on the list was for himself, leaving Holly almost completely off of it.

The plot of this one has tons happening. There’s Chet trying to do one last show for his dead wife. And there’s Holly trying to complete Rick’s list. When the two purposes meet and Chet and Holly team up things get so much fun! I loved the five date idea and it just went so well with Rick’s list.

I loved this book by Jennifer Griffith! It’s a great Christmas read.

-‘They sat a long time on the doorstep, Holly against Chet’s chest, just breathing in and out. Two people who had lost the most important person in their lives many, many days ago. Two people determined not to forget.’-

Oh my goodness this was soooo good! I was glued to it from the start and it didn’t disappoint. Loved, loved, loved it. Such an original storyline. I highly recommend it and would read it again. It was so good!

-‘Until he got that infernal list out of the way, he’d never be able to gauge whether Holly Day could ever be free of the memory of Rick Abbott.’-

I got a complimentary copy from the author but it didn’t affect my opinions and these are all my own thoughts and opinions.

Way too convoluted for me

Used-to-be actor, dead wife, ready to resume career. Meets willing-to-be fake girlfriend required to qualify to resume his career. Then, a missing crèche, and we are now in full Scooby Doo mode.
Confused? Yeah, me too.
I couldn’t keep up with the stupidity, and frankly, it wasn’t interesting enough for me to try.
I read several chapters before giving up. Unfortunately, this is not a book I would recommend.

A feel good romance.

When Holly Day first met Chet she thought he was a homeless person. Scraggly beard, on the beach trying to fish from shore. Chet needed to find a date or rather five dates with the same person in order to secure another job. And Holly was the one he asked. They ended up on more than five dates, however. But that’s not all. Many twists and turns and adventures lay in store for them. I really enjoyed Holly as a character. She is petite and talkative, likes to cook for others, helps regularly at the homeless soup kitchen catching as much fish as she can for their dinner, essentially giving of herself selflessly. I liked that Chet was a little humble and didn’t like to make a big deal out of his stardom. This was a very enjoyable, clean read. I especially liked the HEA at the end. I highly recommend reading this feel good romance.

Part of me liked this story and part of me was just okay with it.

He and she both lost the one they loved and their lives were on hold until they made peace with their losses. She lost her fiancé to the war, and was working hard to finish his bucket list - things that she has no desire to do but feels like she has to do it for him. He has put his acting career on hold but now has a chance for a role in a movie of his former wife's favorite show - Colt Five! (His stage name is Colt). They meet one day when she goes out fishing to provide meals for the homeless - and he looks homeless himself. He asks her to give him five dates so he can get this job but doesn't tell her who he is. Of course they start to care for one another, but her list and his deceiving her stand in their way - oh, and a rather nasty frenemy tries to horn in too!

This is a clean read. 3.5 stars

Moving On From Loss

Chet's mourning the loss of his wife. He has no motivation to do anything except wallow. He just sits on the beach fishing.

Holly is mourning the loss of her fiance. He was killed at war and she is determined to finish his bucket list as a tribute of her love for him. When she stumbles upon a homeless man she finds herself talking to him and trying to learn what she can to help him.

What she doesn't realize is Chet is really Colt Winchester, movie star and not as homeless as she thinks. When he approaches her to be his girlfriend, for five dates, so he can relaunch his career. When everything falls apart can he ever convince her that his feelings are genuine or has he lost her forever~

I received this book as a free ARC copy. I am voluntarily reviewing in my honest opinion.

This was a really great story. I love that they were able to heal together. Their pain was there, but The author didn't longer so much on doubts like characters in other stories with similar situations.
There was major chemistry between Chet and Holly but without getting to wrapped up in the way it made their body feel (which I consider to be more hormonal than real love-like stuff). This story was very well written. Every character had a story, and there was growth and improvement in each one.
I look forward to reading more from this author!

This next year I’ve decided to just be more relaxed when choosing stars. I’m always over analyzing it because how do you compare books with different genres? Themes? Author’s previous works? This is like a little Christmas present under the tree and you wait for it to be opened because it’s so beautifully wrapped. As soon as it’s opened you find your favorite thing inside. All the romance and feels to make the book a perfect Christmas read. It’s fun and thoughtful and the setting is perfect. Did I mention super swoony? Um yeah. When can I watch Colt’s new show? I couldn’t finish it fast enough.

A story about a billionaire actor who moves to Hawaii and is in disguise to stay out of the limelight while he grieves his late wife for nearly a year is pulled out of his grief to audition for a new part that his wife would have wanted him to do. The catch? He has to show that he's in a stable relationship when he's only spoken to a few friends and assistants for the past year...oh, and that lady who thought he was a homeless guy fishing....
This was set in December, but doesn't actually have much Christmas in the book, other than dressing up or listening to carols. It was a fun, clean story though and can easily be read without reading every Billionaire book.

The Billionaire's Blue Christmas is a delightful book for any time of year.. it just happens to be set over Christmas and New Year. Chet and Holly are both clinging to their individual pasts and not really living their lives. One beach encounter changes all that .. find out how by reading this lovely, sweet, billionaire romance from a very talented author. The characters are great, the chemistry is perfect and the story original. Add in a HEA and you have everything you need. I thoroughly enjoyed it and definitely recommend it.

A refreshing, engaging read.

This was my first Jennifer Griffith read and I enjoyed every moment! The lead characters were realistic in their grief and despite the odd circumstances which threw them together, their friendship/relationship flowed in a believable way. Great character development.

My only "gripe" was the overbearing, over-the-top villain. She seemed a little unbelievable at times. Perhaps if her mental instability was focused on more, it could've explained the darkness of her personality.

I liked both Chet and Holly. Both of them were dealing with grief and in very different ways. I'd have to say that hers was more positive but still not really healthy. It was interesting that both of them had lost their loves and were trying to find a way to live for that loved one as opposed to one character having lost and the other saving the day. These two needed to save each other. And they both kept secrets for a good part of the book.

Usually it bugs me when one character doesn't communicate important information and I want to yell, "just get on with it!" but this time I actually liked the first part of the story better when Holly doesn't know who Chet is and thinks he some down and out guy she needs to help. It was true he was down but as a billionaire, he certainly wasn't out. And Chet doesn't know that Holly's fiance has died. That portion of the book was more interesting to me. I think I'm getting too old because as soon as love interests start wanting to make out all the time I get less interested in the story. So when their physical attraction heats up was when the story took a little decline in my interest levels. I was far more interested in the way they were dealing with their grief and how they would be able to move on with their lives than I was with their wanting to kiss all the time. I know. People like kissing books. But just a little is enough for me. This wasn't descriptive-over the top- making out but just not as interesting to me as the rest of the story. Okay, I'm done now.

I thought the story line was unique and interesting. It is a clean, easy read and made me wonder a bit about bucket lists. I don't really have one. Should I make one?

No language, violence or sex.

Chet - a movie star who gets a chance to act in a series that his deceased wife loved -- if he can prove he's in a steady relationship.
Holly - trying to do her deceased fiance's bucket list.
As Chet and Holly spend time together as "boyfriend/girlfriend" they help each other in their quests. A fun, clean HEA story.

Wow! What a beautiful journey to find love!

I love Jennifer’s books. This is another story that is unique and intriguing. Both of them are trying to recover from the death of a loved one. The bucket list was like a third character in the story. You will enjoy this lovely tale of finding the joy in living and the joy of love.

Okay, Okay, Okay

This novel was okay, not the best that I have read but definitely not the worst. I enjoyed this book for the majority of the storyline but towards the end I felt it was too drawn out. I wish they could have wrapped it up a little sooner, I feel like it would have worked out better.

Unexpected life

Two people helping each other trying to get through each day. Missing one's "true" love, finding that if you open yourself up, love sneaks into your heart. Mr. Winters and Miss Day were wonderful heart filled characters that thought about others before themselves. When they started thinking about themselves......WOW!!

Sweet Romance

I love that they’re both working for their past significant others in order to “move on.” I was impressed by Holly’s perseverance on that long list! I also loved how things worked out at the end! There were some great kisses and one swear word.

I was drawn into the characters lives from the beginning, and loved seeing how their relationship progressed. There were many twists and turns and enjoyed seeing how both Holly and Chet were able to help each other recover from the loss of his wife and her fiancé, who were both deceased. Nice, short romance set near Christmas.
