Taking Her

Rate this book
To protect her, I had to take her.

Once a rock god, I lived life in the fast lane,
I was a king. I owned this world.
Men wanted to be me.
Women wanted to be with me.
Life was one big party until my best friend died,
And I left it all behind.
I found success and kept my billions.
I was untamable, cold, and incapable of love.
Then a twist of fate brought me Zoe.
A raven-haired beauty with curves, and luscious lips.
I claimed her innocence and she became my new addiction.
But someone thinks he owns her.
And he'll do whatever it takes to steal her from me.

When it comes to Zoe and our unborn child.
I'll do everything to keep my family safe.
Even if that means taking her...
If they try and stop me, I'll make them pay!

Nope.

The blurb for this book is very misleading. It basically tells you how the book anticlimactically ends and not what the book really focuses on. “Taking” is in the damned title for fuck’s sake and yet there is no taking (aka kidnapping her for her safety) to be had until almost 90%.

Furthermore, the book itself is just plain bad.

Once again the innocent heroine goes from complete virginal purity to “oh yeah, baby, fuck me harder” virtually within minutes. And, by the way, she also gives head like a skilled pro. #clevergirl

The first person MALE narrator/main character describes his OWN eyes as sparkling green jewels *snort*.

And the plot itself just felt like it was going for a grittier tone with heartfelt moments...but simply fell short all around.

Her BFf decides she should sleep with a random stranger, turns out he is a rich hot alpha guy with connections to badass PIs that will help her slay the vilains( her father and co worker)...
So :
She is dumb and a pushover ( hot lawyer who supposedly is smart enough to graduate from Stanford law waiting in a hotel room for the guy your BFF will randomly choose for you to f*ck is as stupid as it comes)
He is a cliche (rich recovering addict billionaire musician with a heart of gold but also muscles and who knows badass PI guys )
Her father is an asshole
...
The plot is really far fetched, it did not work for me.

I fell in love with this book!! Its wonderful!!!!!

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Honestly, this book wins all the stars! Its a wonderful tale of self discovery and acceptance, courage, and true love that will leave you begging for more.

As always, R.R. Banks has astounded and wowed me! He blended his enchanting humour with some heavy themes and situations seamlessly, beautifully, and with care, creating a truly fantastic book. The main characters were not only charming, endearing, and lovable, they had depth and grew before us on the pages. And, their chemistry was off-the-charts-sizzling-in-the-sun hot!! SCORCHING! I reeeeally enjoyed the banter, I laughed and giggled a lot. The antagonists were perfectly wretched and despicable, real quintessential pigs, and I enjoyed loathing them! I love that Mr. Banks can write personalities of a wide range believably and thoroughly, and completely convince me they could be real people. Thats talent worth reading, folks.

This stellar book deserves all kinds of accolades and I simply CANNOT recommend it enough! Its an absolute winner of a read!

I was thoroughly entertained by the charming Irish rogue Connor Grigson. He has overcome so much in his thirty-eight years. His earlier years of excess got him addicted to drugs. Rehab and years therapy brought him to the man he is today. Musician, artist, business owner. He lives in a gorgeous home and plays at small venues when he can. One evening by happenstance introduced him to the love of his life. Zoe Nichols is a twenty-six-year-old lawyer. She works for her domineering father Ryan Nichols and works with her father's golden boy Bryant Brooks. Zoe has been under her father's thumb all her life. Her father intimidates her, bullies her, treats her with disrespect. When he treats her like this she reverts back to being a child that is scared of her father totally dependent on him and she feels powerless to do anything about it. Izzy is Zoe's best friend and she tries to encourage Zoe to take one step at a time and find her inner strength to break free from her father. Quit his firm. But right now, Zoe has less than zero confidence in herself. Izzy also tells her she needs to get laid. Zoe is still a virgin and it terrifies her to think of a relationship let alone sex. Izzy tells her that she herself hires an escort. Easy no fuss no muss. No commitments, no strings attached, no relationships. Zoe is shocked by this. Izzy tells her to go to her hotel room and wait. She is calling the escort service and sending someone to her. Zoe tries to decline but Izzy won't hear of it. She shoos Zoe off to her room. At the same time Connor was playing at the bar where Izzy and Zoe were at. On his break, Connor is propositioned by a lovely young woman. She gives him the key to her room number 326. When he arrives at the hotel he goes to room 362. Which happens to be Zoe's room. Hmmm what are the odds? Well Zoe was expecting an escort and when Connor knocks on her door she thinks its him. Connor is confused. Zoe is not the same woman from the bar. But Zoe tells him to hurry in and strip. Well Connor thanks his lucky charms and goes with the flow. Soon he realizes that Zoe thinks he is an escort. Well who is he to turn down such a beautiful woman. They share an amazing evening together. Zoe realizes what she has been missing all these years and is glad she found out what all the fuss was about. When their time comes to a close Zoe aka Misty asks Connor aka Andy to leave. But before he does he leaves his cell number for her. A few minutes later there is a knock-on Zoe's door and she thinks it's aka Andy. But it turns out to be the actual escort. OMG Zoe freaks out. She calls Izzy. Izzy tells her that it has happened to her that she had been double booked by the agency and for her not to worry. Zoe cannot get aka Andy out of her mind. Connor is also unable to think of anything else but aka Misty. Both of them think they will never see each other again. But they do. Nichols and Associates file a fraudulent lawsuit against Connor. Ryan, Bryant and Zoe go to his home to discuss a settlement. When Zoe sees Connor, she wishes the ground would open up and swallow her. She realizes he is aka Andy from her night of passion. Connor acknowledges her not as aka Misty but by her real name. They have a special connection and a strong chemistry between them. Well here the story takes a turn for the worse as the reasons for the law suit continue to be exposed. Zoe could be in real danger and Connor knows it. So, he tries to protect her. At the same time Zoe and Connor become closer. They can’t seem to stay away from each other. Despite how careful they are, there are long lasting consequences. Ryan and Bryant are up to no good. This fraudulent lawsuit is only the tip of the iceberg. When Connor uncovers damaging evidence against them he shows Zoe the proof. She is undone and can’t stop crying. Her heart is broken that her own father would implicate her in an illegal situation that would cause her to lose her license. But there is more. Ryan tries to have Zoe marry a man she abhors. Ryan wants Zoe to marry Bryant. But she does not understand why her father is so vehemently pushing for this marriage. Because of Connor now she does. Zoe does not know what to do or how to get out of the mess she is in. Connor with the help of his friends comes up with a plan. But he needs Zoe to be 100% in on it. Zoe now trusts Connor and agrees to do it. Will Zoe be able to stand firm against her father? Will she buckle before him as she usually does? Will she finally succumb to the pressure to marry Bryant? What of Connor, will she lose him forever? Will Connor intervene again to help Zoe? Will Zoe get out of this mess? Will she ever be happy? Will she ever be free of her father’s tyranny? This is an excellent read. It grabbed my attention from page one. It has a medium pace and took four to five hours to read. The storyline was unique. It involved realistic situations. There were so many ups and downs, twists and turns in this book. The characters were so well defined that I either ended up liking them or disliking them. And/or disliking the way they represented themselves e.g. facets of their personalities. There was so much going on in this book. I highly recommend it. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Such a great read!!

I totally LOVED this story. So awesome. Connor and Zoe have off the chart chemistry. A recovering addict rock star with a good girl lawyer. These two are a perfect couple. Every one needs a rockstar boyfriend like Conner! Whew!! A+. You will not be disappointed.

This author writes amazingly good books with a strong story line that captures the reader’s attention right away. Connor Grigson thinks about addictions, especially back in his rock and roll performing days, and knows that his remaining addiction now is women. He has come to terms with that. He gets substance cravings now and then but can get through those.

Zoe, a lawyer, is questioning a prospective client, Jay Hill, about the facts of his potential case against a band called FUBAR, as her father listens and observes. She knows he’s lying. The man claims he wrote just about all of their songs and never got credit for it. It was pretty obvious the man was a junkie and overdue for his next fix. Zoe asked if he had proof of his claims, but he said Connor kept all his notes. To her surprise, her father spoke up and said they didn’t necessarily need such proof! Bryant Brooks, her father’s right-hand man, strode in and took over. He encouraged the client to ask for $100 million – planning on pretty much extorting the true song-writer for a large portion of that figure. Zoe was disgusted and outraged.

Zoe met her lawyer friend, Izzy, at the Velvet Orchid to tell her about this travesty. She heard a singer in the background with a great voice and so much emotion and pain in his song. Izzy asked what she was going to do, but she really had no idea. She was so stressed! So Izzy suggested a night with a guy to relax. Working 60-70 hours a week, that isn’t likely to happen for her. So Izzy sends her back to her hotel and tells her to wait – then makes the call for her to an escort service she herself uses. This will solve all her problems!

Done with his set, Connor has a beer as a cute blonde starts flirting with him. She gives him her hotel keycard and walks back to her table of lady friends. When he goes to the hotel later, he tries the keycard in the wrong room and has to knock on the door. The beautiful woman drags him inside, acting like she expected him and yet they don’t know each other. She’s sexy, but he’s seeing her innocence and he’s intrigued. He’s pretty sure she thinks he’s a male escort, judging by the way she is behaving, and he helps her ask for what she wants and be more assertive. But he feels her tension and won’t rush her. And Izzy finally feels confident, strong, and for the first time … free! She still doesn’t know his name. What will she do when she ends up facing him in the courtroom?

Zoe and Connor’s story is filled with all kinds of strong emotions which will bring the reader right into the heart of things. Zoe needs to become her own person and break from her father’s strangling hold on her life. Connor has moved further along in his life and is a perfect man to motivate her to become strong. Be ready for an emotional ride that will leave you breathless to the end! The author will make you feel intensely, both the good stuff and the bad that the characters experience. No doubt about it, the book is powerful and very satisfying as the author leads you to the conclusion.

Taking Her is just another example of Mr. Banks unsurpassed talent. To me, there are a select group of Authors who display their creativity as well as versatility in every release. Mr Banks has consistently impressed me with his amazing mind time and again. Taking Her is an unbelievably addictive read that touches on so many important subjects you just wish you could shake this man's hand all while patting him on the back. While I try immensely hard never to give away the plot, there are just parts of Taking Her that impress me so much that they are bound to shine through this review. Here it goes...

Zoe Nichols is a lawyer that devotes her skills at her Father's firm, however, she is treated with such blatant disregard always. Connor Grigson is an Irish immigrant that struck it big in the music world. Connor has overcome so much in his past, you can't help but hurt for him. True strength is portrayed by these two characters in many ways. Within these amazing pages you will find plenty of drama as well as the beauty of a well crafted journey to Connor and Zoe's happily ever after. Zoe grows as a person from cover to cover and with someone like Connor on her side, she has an incredible inspiration, him. After meeting Connor by chance, Zoe has an unbelievable one night stand (all without knowing his real name). Returning to work only to learn of an unethical lawsuit her Father and coworker, try to ensure will stick and be beneficial to them by guaranteeing they can extort money out of Connor, Zoe finds herself backed into a corner and accompanying them to the initial meeting with Mr. Grigson. Only she finds herself face to face with the exemplary man she met the other night. While both are baffled, the storyline really takes off running and will keep you glued to your Kindle just like I was from page one all the way throughout. Taking Her hits on so many sensitive subjects (ongoing struggles of addiction, loss, betrayal, violence and an all consuming love) leaving reader's, like me, feeling in awe of Mr Banks talent yet again (as I said). Trust that this only touches lightly on the awesomeness of this book.

I was incredibly fortunate to have requested an advanced reader's copy of Taking Her in exchange for my honest opinion and I believe this read is just another must read masterpiece of R.R.'s. I can not wait to see what he gifts us with next.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

This was an awesome book packed with suspense, mystery, drama, intrigue, and passion continue to keep you glued to the pages of this fascinating story. This book was impossible to put down, and it will have you on the edge of your seat because the momentum of the story keeps you wanting to read more. R.R. Banks has become one of my favorite authors—you know that his books will be salacious with an engrossing love story, an interesting plot and dialogue with strong characters and conflicts. I loved the main characters of Zoe Nichols and Connor Grigson and the other cast of characters in the story. I loved the banter and cynicism between Zoe and Connor. Zoe is a competent lawyer who works for her father’s law firm. Her father is like a tyrant, who wants to rule Zoe and her personal life as well. Connor is tall, handsome, arrogant, alpha Irish brogue, wealthy, and former rock star/songwriter for a well known band until his partner died. When Zoe’s father takes on a case in which they want to sue the rock star/entrepreneur, Connor Grigson, Zoe informs her father that there is no possible case. When Zoe meets Connor—mistaken identity as her escort and the chemistry between the two was off-the-chart hot!! Connor is pure alpha who likes to be in control and is used to getting what he wants—and Zoe is the lucky recipient of his ministrations! It is clear that Zoe has affected him in ways no other woman has before and I loved how he constantly pushes against her barriers to get to know her, despite her resistance. I loved the dilemma that ensues with Zoe and who gets in the way and causes trouble. Such a conundrum! There are several twists and turns within the story that makes it interesting. The scenes are well written, fast-paced and flow smoothly from one scene to the next. The book will pique your interest and draw you in from the beginning to the very end.

This was a good one!

I'm sure I've read other RR Banks books but I didn't realize he was a man..yes a MAN, as he humorously stated at the end of this book! Maybe thays what gave a nice bad boy edge to the MC, Connor, with his witty, self deprecating sense of humor & brogue-ish sayings. I got a kick out of him & oh so sexy was he in every way. Former rock star, heroin addict, bad boy lover of any & all women it seemed. Now with a cleaned up life & positive outlook after all the therapy he's been thru, he is successful again in a new career as an artist & owner of a vineyard. He still makes time for his music, just on a local scale now, playing solo.

The other MC, Zoe, was smart, but weak when it came down to standing up for herself with her father, the head of the law firm where she is also a lawyer. Her father keeps pushing her towards his a$$hole partner who she absolutely despises. She's not going there, that's for sure but neither wants to take her 'NO' seriously. One nite Zoe's bestie decides a good one nite stand with a hot man is what she needs to liven up her all work no play lifestyle & she's offering to send her an escort but ends up unexpectedly with someone else, unbeknownst to her until after the fact. Really, it's her lucky day..maybe his too..luck of the Irish perhaps?

There is something strange going on at the law firm, some shady dealings & underhanded plotting which now involves Zoe & Connor. What's up here? How will this play out. Secrets, lies, mysterious happenings, backstabbing plots, steamy, super hot times to boot. Read this page turner that just flows so perfectly into a book that's difficult to set aside..even for dinner!

I'll be sure to check out Mr. Banks & his catalog of novels. I loved his style & this book. Can't wait to see what else he has up his sleeve!

He used to be a rock god, a former addict, and now is a reformed bad boy who owns a winery and plays intimate bars rather than sold out stadiums. She is a brilliant attorney who is browbeaten and casually used by her father. What do they have in common? A trumped up lawsuit bordering on extortion. This forms the basis of R. R. Banks' newest release, Taking Her. I was amazed by the tightly woven storyline, the undercurrent of violence, the complex relationship between Zoe and her father, and the sketchy, would-be Mafia connection.
Zoe meets Connor, the washed up rock star when she mistakenly assumes that he is the escort ordered by her best friend for an evening of no strings pleasure. Imagine her surprise when she discovers that he is the client her firm is suing! The connection between Zoe and Connor is immediate and electric. While Zoe's mind is torn ethically, her body knows what it wants. Connor feels something different with Zoe and pursues her with a single-minded determination. Then, things get even more interesting!
Zoe uses her liberating experience with Connor as a template to finally stand up for herself, not realizing that there are forces already in motion to completely curtail her freedom. And even though Connor could force her to accept him, to accept his help, he gives her choices, something she has never had before.
This book has danger, scandal, betrayal, and heartbreak. The characters are well-written, the dialogue is believable, the story is engaging, and the sex is blisteringly hot! IMO, this is R. R.'s best book to date. You won't want to put it down until its stunning conclusion and perfect epilogue. You, too, will become a R. R. fan!

Ugh! Warning --- this review will probably contain spoilers and spoilerish comments so stop reading now if you’re one of those readers who doesn’t want a heads up.

I liked Conner. He used to be in a rock band and lived a wild, fast life as most rockers do. After a life changing event, he stopped and went to rehab for his additions. Conner now appreciates life and sees the blessings he’s been given. He has a great attitude considering what he's been through.

I wanted to like Zoe. I tried to like her. But that woman worked my nerves with everything she did. She’s a bright, intelligent attorney working with her father’s law firm, and she has absolutely no back bone whatsoever. She is weak. I felt sorry for her at first, but then I just got angry. Zoe follows along behind her father and never questions him, even though she knows what he is doing is unethical. It was hard to read the way Zoe allowed him to speak to her and tell her what to do. Don’t get me started on the whole Bryant thing. That was just unbelievable. Then there was the push/pull and mixed signals she gave Conner that genuinely annoyed me. But the kicker was when Bryant tells her a lie about Conner, the one man in her life who has been nothing but honest and loving, and she chooses to believe Bryant without allowing Conner to explain the truth. Conner should have kicked her to the curb. I understand why he didn’t, but Zoe should have had to do some major groveling to make up for that.

Overall, this was just not a favorite of mine. It’s hard to like a book when you have zero respect for one of the main characters.

Baffled and not for a good reason

I don’t even know where to start with this book. Like all good love stories it starts with a virgin losing her virginity UNDER FALSE PRETENSES (aka RAPE). I hated it but it all mostly boiled down to a horrible female heroine...again. She had no back bone and somehow after losing her virginity she gains the ability to finally stand up for herself as if sex is what can make a woman gain strength and self respect. She leads Connor on over and over again and that’s not even the worst part. She knows her father and Bryant are horrible people but are willing to believe them when they speak negatively on Connor and can’t even let him explain. After he saves her life she STILL treats him horribly and accuses him constantly of being a worse person than he ever was. After he clears his name of no wrong doing she’s obviously very remorseful and he just takes her back. She then proceeds to catch her father and this Bryant man doing some really grimy stuff to her such as SELLING HER! So when the father goes to jail she VISITS HIM and is heartbroken when he turns her away. Zoe is a trash woman and didn’t deserve any of the good stuff that happened to her she didn’t deserve Connor or even happiness. She’s the stereotypical weak pathetic women that we all aspire to NOT be. Even after growing a back bone (from magical sex) she’s still one of the weakest and worst character I’ve come across. Throw this dribble away and look somewhere else because you will be disappointed and disgusted just like me.

The Virgin lawyer and her Irish rock star

This is a tale of a very shy young lawyer Zoe, tagged with a condescending father, his own firm . And her journey from having no back bone, ‘a way of life ´to taking charge of it through the encouragent of her new Irish love rock star Connor.

Who knew that Irish luck was about to strike for Connor in a vicious battle of extortion and blossoming new love when he meets the virgin that will rock his world not only in a battle of extortion due to Zoe’s dad but through sheer perseverance from those two as they concoct a plan to bring down the firm to his knees, and also that will save Connor from being ripped of.

This story from the begging had me quite on edge, from Zoe’s weak character to being a virgin rubbed me the wrong way, I was ready to call it out. But again this is what R.R does so well. He brings out the worst and best from you as you continue this journey.

Count on him to spin and entertain you slow and easy ,then fast and hard with Zoe and Connor’s descent to extreme sexual delights , new doors to different experiences in a world of hard spanking. This is a pleasantly new phase for Mr. Banks and I’m loving the new growth of storyline. You rock !!

HE never disappoints! But please Sir, Have pity on the virgin stories, and bring back more of the mafia drama . Wink!
R. R,😋J’aime beaucoup tes bouquins mon cheri!!!!

I received this ARC and I also borrowed it ( KU) , my views are totally my own.

I love the work of this author. Honestly I didn't like the beginning chapter as it was gritty and raw and wondered if I would like the book. I read on and discovered that the reality of the main character, Connor's, life was raw and gritty. The story held my interest until the final chapter and final word. In fact I read it in one night! The story is a romance of Connor and Zoe. The cicumstances that had them meet and have hot scorching sex was hilarious and an incredible and a humorous chance encounter. Connor was broken and reborn and Zoe was emotionally frail. Zoe lacked self confidence and was under the thumb of her condescending and evil father. Besides her father she was harassed by her father's golden boy Bryant. Be prepared to hate him! There is intrigue and hold your breath moments as the plot unfolds. Banks is masterful at character development and wonderful plots and this one is a winner. Oh, and did I mention the emotional and sexual relationship between Connor and Zoe was hot, hot, and hot. I recommend this book 100 %. I recieved an advanced copy for my honest review.
I can not give details away as it would ruin it for you.

I absolutely loved this book. I would definitely give it 5+ stars if I could. I was hooked from beginning to end and just couldn’t put it down. It’s a romance that’s full of intrigue that slowly unfolds throughout the story. The characters are wonderful, except for the ones who are downright evil. R. R. Banks writes in a manner that has the reader totally engrossed and involved in the story. I almost felt as though I’m watching a video in my mind and I’m right there by their side as they work through the issues. I felt the humour, the sadness, the confusion, the disbelief and especially the anger as the characters were allowed to grow and develop in order to deal with the twists and turns thrown in their path. I found myself really hoping that they would overcome the issues and fight to achieve their rightful happy ever after. Oh, and the evil ones get what they deserve too. I’ve read quite a few books from R. R. Banks now, and this one is definitely up to the excellent standard I’ve come to expect. Congratulation on and thanks for another fabulous and entertaining story.

Connor Would Be Mr. Right

There's something really special about a man with a good mind and a sharp wit. If he's also easy on the eye, talented and financially stable, IMHO he's perfect. Connor Grigson fills that bill and, like me, Zoe Nichols finds him irresistible. Zoe is a young lawyer who, after years of having been raised by her heartless, demanding, manipulative and totally unethical father, the head honcho of the law firm Zoe works for, is finally beginning to come into her own and attempting to stand up for herself.

Connor wasn't always perfect. He came from the streets of Ireland and, after making his way with his best friend, Ronnie, to the U.S., the two formed a band and became extremely successful rock stars, living the high life including all the sex, drugs and rock and roll associated therewith. Unfortunately, only Connor lived to tell about it, and turned his life around. His only real remaining vice was sex.

This was a very enjoyable read, told by a very capable storyteller/author. I haven't yet read many of his books, but that's likely to be remedied in the very foreseeable future.

If you want to know what it's like to have a truly evil father, then you have to read this book. The depth of Zoe's father, Ryan's, propensity to do evil things really astounded me. And when he teams with Bryant it's even worse! Zoe and Connor meet accidentally but when he officially meets her as one of 3 attorneys suing him things definitely take an interesting turn! Zoe needs to find the backbone to fight her father and Bryant. She's been controlled for so long that although she's of strong character, getting the backbone to stand up to him proves a little more challenging.

There is chemistry, hot passionate moments, humor, and support between Zoe and Connor. Connor will definitely help her develop that backbone and Zoe will help him too. They're strong together.

Amazing job by R.R. Banks on writing this story. He captures your interest from the beginning and writes every scene so well you can feel it and imagine it while you're reading. I recommend it!

Really, really liked it! What a mix-up of room numbers and the belief that her guest at the door is the escort her friend has engaged for her. Connor, the singer has the room key of a conquest he connected with at the bar but has inadvertently switched the room number and ends up knocking on Zoe’s door. After the evening is completed, Zoe tells him to leave. That when Connor realizes she really believes he was the escort. Zoe is an attorney in her father’s firm. Her father is intent on matching her to his associate, Bryant whom she really dislikes. She feels something is going on but she is treated as ignorant during all their meetings. Her father and Bryant pick up a client they can use to extort money from Connor under the premise that the client wrote the music for Connor’s former band. During a meeting, Zoe and Conner realize they know each other from the wild night.
There is lots of wonderful drama in this book. Great writing and will keep your attention from page one!

I HATED THE HEROINE

I cannot tell you how excruciatingly it was for me to finish this book. it was well written but I have to say that the h was just stupid.stubborn and not in a good way and OMG was she weak weak weak. I cannot stand a weak woman. even in my fiction and the H was not nearly as Alpha as I like. although that seems to be the style with this author just an fyi...not quite as Alpha as I would like and not nearly as much as the summary would have you believe. So I would have given it one star or even two stars because of these things but I gave it three because I was really well written I don't like that the h runs from the H without listening to his explanation and then turns out to be completely 100% in the wrong. and the H getting beat up is unacceptable to me. I don't think I'll be reading any more books by this author because I have read several already and I have picked up on the pattern of H's that are not Alpha enough and h's that I don't like very much.

An amazing contemporary romance with heat and intrigue. 💕💖🔥💦💕

I can't say how much I absolutely love this book! I finished reading yesterday and I honestly want to read it again tonight... it is that good! 💗

Now I have to honest here... this is not the first book by R.R. Banks that I have read and it hopefully won't be the last. His books are so very well written and developed that you get dragged in from the first page and, in my case at least, I usually can't put one down until I'm done reading it.

Taking Her is no exception to the rule. Zoe is a lawyer in her fathers firm and is trying to get out from under his control. Connor is a man who has been through fame, addiction, and tragedy to come out the other side with a better understanding of who he is and who he wants to be. The connection between the two when they meet as the result of a twist of fate is both heady and powerful. 💞😍💞

I loved this book!! It has so many aspects that makes it a great and well rounded piece of work. Zoe is a lawyer that is completely railroaded by her father Ryan and their colleague Bryant. Those two are a piece of work. What they plan and do to Zoe drove me nuts!! In comes Connor. A very sexy and very honest Irish guy / rock and roller. The two pieces of work's next target. I just loved Connor! He is a great character and as honest as they come! There is honestly so much one can say about this book I can review for hours! I do not however want to spoil it for others. What I can say is that the book is truly magnificent, the characters were fantastic and how Zoe and Connor started was really creative (and extremely hot!!). I would highly recommend this book to all. You won't regret it!

Can someone tell me what exactly “Virgin curves” are? I mean is this author for real?

I enjoy finding new authors especially independent ones that I can support but there is so much crap out there in the ebook world and I hate wading through it.

I just don’t understand the all the hype around books like this one that play into such horrible stereotypes and add to the constant rape culture we already live in. Where are the strong heroines who’ll stand up for themselves? Why does every hero have to be a manwhore billionaire? (To each their own when it comes to who and how many people they sleep with, I’m totally against slut-shamming.) Where are the supportive best friends? (Note: telling your friend they need to get laid then seeking out a random dude is not being a good friend and more like setting your best friend up to be hurt.)

I don’t recommend this book.

There are tons of amazing contemporary romances out there. Read one of those instead.

I enjoyed every moment of this book. The characters, especially Connor and Zoe, were so well written. The plot was interesting, face paced with lots of twists to keep the pages turning at a fast fun pace. I loved the growth of these characters, especially Zoe. I loved reading her fire to break free from the repressed life she had been living under her father and to an extent Bryant. The craziness that she had to push through and fight against was mind blowing and at the same time very believable. It was so easy to connect to and care about these characters. This is not the first time I have read something from this author and it definitely will not be the last. I love the writing style and the impeccable care given to developing the characters so that you feel invested in them and the outcome. Well done. I look forward to the next offering.

Irresistible

I loved this book by R. R. Banks about Connor Grissom and aging rockstar who now plays shows and tends to his wine business after he’s put all the sex and drugs of the rock business behind him. Well, at least the drugs. He still needs sex for his addiction fix. That is how he manages to meet Zoe Nichols, a lawyer and obedient daughter to her domineering, lawyer father. The first step she decides to take to be her own person is to shed her v-card, and that is how she meets Connor. The circumstances to their meeting is priceless. When she achieves her goal, she leaves him in her wake. When she manages to meet up with him again during a shady legal case her father takes on, they resume their hot, sexual encounters and become more deeply involved. It’s this involvement that will eventually save her life. I like the different storyline with its twists and turns, and I especially loved Collin, who is a better version of his younger self and Zoe.

Taking Her by R. R. Banks is another great book by this amazing author, very well written. It is a story that grabs you from the very beginning and keeps you hooked till the very last word. This was a fun and exciting story, it has some really great bantering, a touch of humor with some suspense, drama and definitely hot and sexy. The characters are strong, intriguing and al around interesting. Connor and Zoe are very well developed with an undeniable chemistry that you can feel coming from the pages. He’s in a band and she is a lawyer this is where the fun and intrigue starts. I absolutely recommend this great book it has some very interesting twists and turns that will keep you wanting to read this book in one sitting. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and I was not disappointed.

Whenever you want to read a book that is going to blow your mind, read one by RR Banks. So well written the story leaps off the page and pulls you into the story alongside the characters. I found myself mumbling in exasperation at Zoe for not standing up for herself time and time again. (Everyone else is sleeping right now so I can't scream at her). So much strange behavior from her father should have raised major warning signs. But even I couldn't foretell what mayhem was going on as created by some of the foolish characters in the book. Total mind ...you know what! I absolutely fell in love with Connor. While he was a bit brash and full of himself, he owned it. Zoe was the perfect foil to him. The author did an excellent job of creating characters who will stick in my memory for a long time to come.

Zoe is a lawyer and she currently works for her father's firm. Connor is a famous musician and someone from his past is trying to sue him for money. Zoe's father and another associate take the case against Connor and when they have a joint meeting Zoe realizes that Connor is the man she lost her virginity to. Connor is surprise when he sees his Misty and can't wait to get her alone. Will Zoe's father's firm cause conflict between her and Connor? Can Connor save Zoe from the evilness that is her father?

This is a great story once I started it I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between Connor and Zoe just about melted my kindle. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this to any of my book friends.

Am i always going to be a daddy’s girl, and do everything he demands including marrying a guy he wants? Zoe is asking her best friend this, and Izzy tells her she needs to get laid!!! Best way is with an escort service.. Connor just happens to be at the right place at the right time, and when Zoe opens the door to her room he goes with the act of being an escort.

Neither can take their mind off of each other, but used fake names. When they cross paths both wonder if its fate or coincenadence. After a few more days they secretly decide to meet, but her father and Bryant, partner at firm, don’t like the idea.

Will Zoe and Connor be able to beat the odds including her father and Bryant to be together or will she continue to follow her father’s orders and marry Bryant?

The luck of the Irish

Loved this story about Conner & Zoe.
Conner has certainly lived his life to the full, but little did he realize at the time that what he was doing can only lead to one thing , destruction. After heartbreak he manages to pull himself into a life he is proud of , although he still has one addiction.
Zoe is a lawyer , but who she got there wasn't her decision. In fact everything in her life isn't her decision, her lawyer father rules her life . He is even trying to false her into going out with his right hand man , Bryant . Zoe hates Bryant.
Conner & Zoe meet in a very unconventional way . Being together will not be easy, especially when Bryants want for Zoe becomes more dangerous.
Great story & characters. Couldn't put it down
