This is not a stand alone book. It is a companion short story novella to The Omega Auction and The Omega Rescue Series. If you haven't read them, it may not make sense...
Ding-dong-ding-dong The deep bass of bells pealed soundly through the early evening air as the ancient brass bellpull bobbed gently back into place. “Good evening, Mistress,” Dragos greeted me warmly, swinging the door open wide to allow me entrance. “The Masters are out at present but assuredly will be pleased that you have arrived.” “Thank you, Dragos.” I allowed him to help me from my heavy woolen coat, shivering when the cold Alaskan air that had followed me in brushed against the bare skin of my neck. “I am pleased to have been invited.” Dragos allowed his formal mask to slip long enough to smile roguishly. “I am confident that I would not be overstepping to assure you that you are always welcome at Blackwell Castle, Mistress Rhodes.” I laughed and swatted his arm. “You old flatterer! Now, tell me everything I’ve missed?” Dragos tsk’d softly, still smiling. “No, Mistress.” He held his elbow out for me to take. “Tonight, that honor falls to another.” “It does?” I raised a brow, but the butler simply led me on, stopping in front of a familiar being that I hadn’t seen in many years. “Your Highness!” I quickly dropped as deep a curtsy as my cold, tired bones would allow. “I wasn’t aware that you were still on continent!” “Silly child, you know you’re to call me Bunic.” One bushy silver-tipped red eyebrow arched. “I stayed on after the bonding to enjoy the holiday with my great-grandsons.” The King of Dragons said, smiling at me genially. “It is good to see you, Kian. Come and greet me properly.” I rose to my feet and leaned over the two small dragonlets sleeping in his lap to kiss his weathered cheek. “I see you have company.” “I certainly do.” His large hand ghosted over the purple scales of the two sleeping infants, one a slightly lighter shade than the other. “It has been many years since I’ve held such small ones.” “They certainly seem content.” I lowered myself into the chair opposite him. “Dragos said that you would tell me of the castle news?” “Ah, did he, now?” Bunic’s lined face relaxed into a delighted grin. “It has been an entertaining few days, of that you can be sure.” Bunic leaned back and closed his eyes, his hand stilling on the dragonlet’s backs.
This was a super cute and fun little festive short, bringing together all the lovely characters from across the series to date.
I was amused by the whole turkey debacle, and the lights-out scene between Sebastian and his unnamed kisser (like we don't already know!) left me excited for stories to come.
Short, sweet and very funny. I love how everyone gather together for the solstice holiday and though I feel sorry for uncle sneezy, he was just hilarious in this one. I’m not surprised that Kian has good sense of humor and able to pull this one.
It's been awhile since I started the series (Spencer and Harry's book aside), so I'm a bit fuzzy on all the characters...and they show up here in abundance. It was all a little confusing for me (which, frankly, we were clearly warned about in the blurb so...my bad).
The premise is everyone descending on Harry and Spencer's castle for Winter Solstice and it's chock-full of crazy times with Uncle Sneezy being the butt of many Shenanigans and much humor.
I love reading this series. This was a short quick read Spencer and Harry from Music to His Ears (The Omega Rescue) are not able to be with friends during Solstice because of the baby dragons that they found so the friends come to them. The story is told through flashbacks and it was funny first. Trevor, Clint and their pups arrive along with all the other couples and their pups and even Cian and Trey and their little dragons all the babies are getting on Harry's uncles Snezhana nerves. We also meet Vlad he is a turkey shifter who thinks he is a dragon. Vlad was the mail order bride that uncle Snezhana ordered although he thought that he was getting a female dragon. This was a funny short quick read that I read out of order it was well written like the rest of the books in this series with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading more books in this series.
A terrific peek at all the couples and their children from Omega Auction as well as the Omega Rescue series as they gather for Solstice celebration. Poor Uncle Snezhana. I was laughing at his plight. It was one thing after another for the guy, I had to feel sorry for him. The introduction of Vlad was pure delight. This book was written for fans and shouldn't be read as a stand alone. It takes place after all the books except Flawlessly Imperfect which picks up right where this one ends. Adult read
This is a very fun little fluff piece of hijinks and romance on the holidays. It revisits all of our characters, continuing to solidify their unorthodox little family. Love the hints of future couplings for the next books!
This deserves a large warning sign. Taking an elderly dragon and mixing in a small disaster group of a mix of wolf pups and teething dragonlets with a turkey looking for its mate while escaping a fate as the main item for dinner. Season with snow and a well coated second floor bedroom hallway, and you are garranteed tears in your eyes and bellies gasping for air. This should have a movie ( made child rated) for next year's season. Ot would give the Grinch a run for his money.
There isn't much that I can say about this book without spoiling it. I will say that the manner in which the author chose to tell the story, as if a dragon was informing a reporter? about what had happened, with flashbacks littered throughout the chapters, was very clever and I quite enjoyed the change.
Also, holy hell, I love Vlad. Turkey shifters are now a thing I'm into.
This was an epic journey with 17 books in the Omega Auction Chronicles (plus 4 shorts) and they are intertwined with the Omega Rescue and Blood Valley Investigations). They are definitely best read in order and worth it - very sexy, entertaining and fun.
I still have the Omega Destiny, International series to get through and looking forward to it.
This decent holiday short provides some humor for pre-existing characters as well as introduces new faces and potential pairings for further stories in the series.
This story was a fun ensemble story with everyone getting together to celebrate the holiday in fun and entertaining ways. It was so much fun to see their wild time. I can't wait to see what comes next.
This was a cute exercise in storytelling. Pups and dragonlets up to mischief... a turkey shifter? Really? The only downside was the need for more editing.
Loved it. Funny is not enough. Laugh out loud. The mermaid costume, brilliant. Love these books want more please. Just brilliant. Great author. "********** rating.
Every book I read in the Omega Auction series and the Omega Rescue series makes me fall deeper and deeper in love with these characters. Each of them is terrific on their own but when you toss them all together like this, it's incredible. I had so much fun reading this. The kids' antics were hysterical, poor Uncle Sneezy couldn't catch a break and I see some great new story possibilities coming our way, but spending Solstice with the family I've grown to love beats anything I could have asked for. I hope Ms. Rhodes continues writing this series for a long time. It's one of my favorites.
