Kai came across as grumpy and reserved on the outside, but he’s actually the sweetest man ever🥺 it’s like he has this hidden soft side that gradually reveals itself. He’s also completely different behind close doors, if you know what I mean 👀 he’s a soft dom and the words that come out of his mouth 🥵🥵
and the jealousy scenes you guys ugh 😭

Esmeralda was the opposite of him. She’s an absolute ray of sunshine. She brought warmth and joy to the lives of those around her. She’s also a firecracker, always trying to push his buttons and bring out different sides of him. She enjoys teasing and seeing his reactions 👀
The more time they spend together, the deeper their feelings grow. The shared experiences and moments only strengthened the bond between them. They’re journey of love and connection was too cute. Kai and Esmeralda were a breath of fresh air. They were very unique and had me hooked into the book and kept me wanting more.

OMG OMG OMG!!! AHHH you guyssss!! I am literally soooo obsessed with this book!! When I had read the storyline, I was intrigued, I had never read a royal romance where both MC’s are of higher position, so I was curious to see how Nylah would portray the regal descriptions, the terminology, and just overall everything that comes with royalty and she did it so exceptionally well!!
The story starts off with Crown Princess Esmeralda going to the 875th annual Peace Anniversary celebration to which she sees Prince Kai, she’s grown up seeing him in other events but never had a proper conversation bc of her crush on him. To which they both have a rough “first encounter”, Kai is grumpy and cold to others but he soon warms up to Esmeralda, and when I tell you in the words of Taylor Swift, in a world of boys he’s a gentleman!! THE SOFTED DOM EVERRR!! I love him so much!!!
From the events to the architecture, and don’t get me started on the descriptive details ahh!! It was like a movie playing in my head!! I was sucked in from the beginning and the relationship development between Esmeralda and Kai was adorable to read 🥹❤️ the spice scenes were oh so spicyyyy and Kai is just the perfect book boyfriend!!

I really loved the setting of the book - the palace & royalty vibes are something I really love in books and I thought the author did a wonderful job here!
I liked that the author also always kept the plot interesting, how there was always something happening that brought the excitement up. And speaking of adding to the excitement, the forbidden romance was definitely a part of it!
I really liked the relationship between Kai & Esmeralda, and how they went from strangers to friends to lovers. While their relationship was very fast-paced I still believed their ‘love story’. And ahh I just love it when she falls first but he falls harder & bonus point when he unlocks a territorial/jealous side as well!
I also really liked the emotional journey of especially Esmeralda. Her character development was truly admirable, and I was glad when she finally stood up to her brother.
Also, I just have to mention; Pierre stole the show! I loved him so much!!
For me, I didn’t rate it higher because there was a few things I struggled with. Among them was understanding the world & the other kingdoms, I was a bit confused - at least in the beginning of the book. For me, personally, the relationship was a bit too fast-paced. I also just couldn’t with the nickname ‘babble’, and I can’t say I quite understood the ‘orange’ nickname either👀
Overall, this was a good read and I definitely recommend if you like any of the tropes below🫶🏼

Tall, royal, and grumpy, more like goals, goals, and goals! I think it'll take me a week of fantasizing and daydreaming about Kai to recover from this story lol. It was such a beautifully crafted story that gave way to such complex plotlines and made every character shine, which honestly, is a massive kudos to the author for achieving because that does not come easy.
From Kai's gorgeous green flag energy to Esmeralda's heartwarming yet amazingly strong personality, there isn't a thing about this book I want to change. And can I just say, this book had some of the best spice scenes I have read hands down!!
I seriously cannot wait to read more of this amazing world and its people in the books that will follow! And honestly, thank you Nylah for this mindblowing opportunity to get an ARC from you. I think Kai has stolen my soul hahahaha.

Crown Princess Esmeralda Ayla of Jahandar has had a long-standing crush on Prince Kai of Touma for 6 whole years. This year on the international event where she will be close to his prince, she was determined to at least be friends with him. What she didn’t expect was unlike in her dreams, her prince is a real grump…
OMG, OMG, this book just made me remember how much I love everything royal. I just found everything they do interesting and I love every single second of this book despite it being almost 500 pages! I can’t believe that this was a debut book from this author, and how severely underrated this was. I think this was written really well, and she even created a whole alternate world for this series, how awesome is that? Got to be honest, it was hard at first to take all of the information at the beginning, but eventually, you’ll get there. You can also just skip the explanation on the front page, and go back after you finish the book, the information will make more sense and be easier to absorb.
Kai you grumpy bastard, or at least that was my initial thought, but he turned out to be the softest cinnamon roll ever! This man is so depraved and filthy in the bedroom, in contrast to his polite and stoic self as a prince. Did I mention that he was a jealous bitch too? His jealousy and neediness were so stinkin’ cute! And Esmeralda is just so adorably bratty, no wonder Kai fell so fast for her. Their relationship develops organically during their 2 weeks stay, so it doesn’t feel like an instalove.
I love their family dynamic so much! Kai’s family is the big and supportive one, they love Kai and adore Esmeralda, so there’s no obstacle from them. Esmeralda’s family is the broken one, she lost her parents, and her brother who is also her King, has abandoned her for reason to be revealed. But in the end, no matter the obstacles, the fact they are royal alone has made their relationship no easy to maintain, It’s interesting to see how they try to make it work.
I was surprised by the smut in this book, it was a slow burn, but once it gets going, my lawddddd🥵 I found myself skipping smut nowadays because I feel like they are pretty much the same. But this? Holy mother of sweet baby Jesus, it was freaking steamy, and all the kinks are played lightly so it doesn’t contradict the character’s personality too much. This book has the perfect balance of sweet and steamy, in my opinion.
I’m officially obsessed with this book and the world that the author has created, and cannot wait for the next book for an epic Royal enemies-to-lovers romance! I highly recommend this if you’re a fan of royal romance, you won’t regret it!

OMG, OMG, this book just made me remember how much I love everything royal. I just found everything they do interesting and I love every single second of this book despite it being almost 500 pages! I can’t believe that this was a debut book from this author, and how severely underrated this was. I think this was written really well, and she even created a whole alternate world for this series, how awesome is that? Got to be honest, it was hard at first to take all of the information at the beginning, but eventually, you’ll get there. You can also just skip the explanation on the front page, and go back after you finish the book, the information will make more sense and be easier to absorb.
Kai you grumpy bastard, or at least that was my initial thought, but he turned out to be the softest cinnamon roll ever! This man is so depraved and filthy in the bedroom, in contrast to his polite and stoic self as a prince. Did I mention that he was a jealous bitch too? His jealousy and neediness were so stinkin’ cute! And Esmeralda is just so adorably bratty, no wonder Kai fell so fast for her. Their relationship develops organically during their 2 weeks stay, so it doesn’t feel like an instalove.
I love their family dynamic so much! Kai’s family is the big and supportive one, they love Kai and adore Esmeralda, so there’s no obstacle from them. Esmeralda’s family is the broken one, she lost her parents, and her brother who is also her King, has abandoned her for reason to be revealed. But in the end, no matter the obstacles, the fact they are royal alone has made their relationship no easy to maintain, It’s interesting to see how they try to make it work.
I was surprised by the smut in this book, it was a slow burn, but once it gets going, my lawddddd🥵 I found myself skipping smut nowadays because I feel like they are pretty much the same. But this? Holy mother of sweet baby Jesus, it was freaking steamy, and all the kinks are played lightly so it doesn’t contradict the character’s personality too much. This book has the perfect balance of sweet and steamy, in my opinion.
I’m officially obsessed with this book and the world that the author has created, and cannot wait for the next book for an epic Royal enemies-to-lovers romance! I highly recommend this if you’re a fan of royal romance, you won’t regret it!

What a debut novel! This was such an amazing book & I was so pleasantly surprised by it. Great storyline with a few little twists & secrets exposed along the way that will have you hooked & wanting more, as well as very loveable side characters🫶🏻
Kai is a shy, quiet, reserved, & grumpy prince in public, but when the doors are closed this prim & proper gentleman is anything but! The duality of this man actually shocked me🤭His jealousy had me giggling because this man was losing his marbles over Esmeralda lol. Esmeralda was a great fm, & the polar opposite of Kai's grumpy, quiet self. I loved the way she tried to push Kai's buttons & get him to lose his inhibitions, & that she always stuck up for Kai.
I loved the romance between these two. They were so good together & were both fiercely protective of, & respectful towards one another. Their tension at the beginning when Kai was angry with Esmeralda had me gripping the walls. I just wished it could've been dragged out a little more because this part of the story was SO enthralling! This book is for those that love Disney princesses but who also love spice🤭 because let me tell you, I knew this book was spicy, but I didn't think it would be THAT spicy🫣 do not let the cover deceive you...

FAVORITE BOOK OF ALL TIME (in my opinion)
There is truly nothing but I can say about this book. It was the perfect book for me and met every single expectation. I was screaming and laughing the whole time. I literally read this until 5 am when I finally finished it.

- FMC falls first but he falls harder
- The sweetest most shy hero every that is like a big bear
- I LOVED how bold Esmeralda is and how shy and second guessing he is (its the perfect balance and something I don't usually see)
- Kai has my absolute heart. He absolutely hates the rain but for her he kept going in to the rain. HE KEPT THE RECIPT FROM THERE ICE CREAM DATE AS A MOMENTUM AND GAVE HER HALF OF THE RECIPT SO HE WOULD HAVE A PEICE OF HER AND SHE WOULD TOO.
- I for some reason didn't expect this book to be spicy, but OHHHH it was the perfect amount and type of spice.
- The unfinished messages between Esmeralda and her best friend in every chapter was the cutest detail ever.
- I usually hate family drama in the book, but it was executed perfect here.
- The way he felt for her was such a breath of fresh air and the way she felt for him was amazing. I usually read books where the mmc talks about they way he loves her but here she was so devoted and in love with him, constantly reminding him that as well.
- I don't think there has ever been a book I read where the mmc gets emotionally abused and I think the author did a wonderful job portraying this and showing that men can go through abuse as well.
Just the most amazing book ever, I am so mad that this is the author first book becuase I am dying to read more from her.

This was a contemporary royal romance in an Earth alternate universe. Sounds like it might not work but it was actually so amazing! I cannot wait to revisit this world with this series, it will be painful waiting for the next books.
I LOVE this book! Very low on angst but there is “conflict” that played nicely for the story. Esmeralda has pined for Kai for so long and she is hoping this 2 week celebration is her chance to finally get him to NOTICE her. They are a perfect example of grumpy x sunshine/opposites attract. Kai is the perfect charming prince however there is a side he feels ashamed of and buries. But Esmeralda helps him see that he doesn’t need to hide or repress that side…with her! He the perfect amount of protective, possessive and jealous with a super cute and endearing bashful side. He is one of my fave MMCs, with glasses and the most absolutely nervous tick! Prince Charming in the streets but Dirty Talking Dom King in the sheets! This is the spiciest book I’ve read in a while! It has so many hot and easily imagined scenes that are some of my faves that felt fresh and not forced. The writing, story and characters, and world building is excellent. It’s hard to believe this is a debut book, just FABULOUS. I will be recommending this book to everyone.

I’m a big fan of historical/royal setting and this book is such a fun read for me! Don’t let the cover fool you, it’s full of spice but still the cover and title was what got me intrigued at first.

Yes it was a rough start but I love how their relationship progressed. They were able to overcome their hardships with each other. I would only saw I want to see their story in the future🥹 I want to know more about them after the books ends.
I will be excitedly waiting for the second book to come out! Author gave a preview of each book in the series and their tropes. When you read this book you will know who the next couple will be! I cannot wait for them!!

When starting this novel , I honestly thought it was going to be very much historical nonfiction , with a bunch of difficult words to read & understand & lots of world creating blah, blah , blah … BUT the moment I read Chapter 1 !!!!! I just knew I was going to have a fun time & I one hundred percent did !!
Prince Kai? Can you pop out of these pages & be real please ? I know every fictional men we read about is automatically our boyfriends , but this one? Nahhh He’s my husband !! Prince Kai was just a swoonable character. The little things he would do for Princess Esmeralda & so much more. *spoiler* My favorite part of this whole novel was when they both went on a ride & Esmeralda was able to ride Bucky bcos he trusted her … MIND YOU Bucky trusted NO BODY unless it’s Kai , but he trusted Esmeralda. So when Kai realized that & then later went on to continue the ride , that was the moment Kai knew he had feelings for her & it was such the cutest realization 🥺 Ugh I wish I could go on & on about them two but I loved them so much. I loved how their relationship blossom & became these unity , & it’s amazing how strong that unity was especially being together for such a short amount of time… it speak volume !

this book is prob a 4.75. idk why i’m not feeling 5 stars but i did rlly enjoy this book. i love a shy man who dominates in the bedroom…..like the smut i was dead. his nervous tick was so cuteeee. i love how they both have insomnia but can sleep when they’re with each other. he is also so jealous like PLS. i loved the found family - all of kai’s friends and family were amazing and i want them in my life rn. i also love sher and mariyah. meg was a bitch and she had it coming. i am so glad that kareem and esmeralda (a GORGEOUS name) bonded again. i hated how he treated her at first. but anyways, they were such a power couple and i’m obsessed. i feel like the next book needs to be sher and mariyah. also why didn’t we get the proposal, i needddd

She's grown up seeing him at other events but never had a proper conversation because of her crush on him. They have a rough "first encounter" initially, with Kai being grumpy and cold, but he soon warms up to Esmeralda. And when I tell you, in the words of Taylor Swift, in a world of boys, he's a gentleman!! THE SOFTEST DOM EVERRR!! I love him so much!!!

The story starts off with Crown Princess Esmeralda going to the 875th annual Peace Anniversary celebration, where she sees Prince Kai. She's grown up seeing him at other events but never had a proper conversation because of her crush on him. They have a rough "first encounter" initially, with Kai being grumpy and cold, but he soon warms up to Esmeralda. And when I tell you, in the words of Taylor Swift, in a world of boys, he's a gentleman!! THE SOFTEST DOM EVERRR!! I love him so much!!!
I found everything they do interesting and loved every single second of this book despite it being almost 500 pages! I can't believe this was a debut book from this author, and now it’s severely underrated. It was written really well, and Nylah even created a whole alternate world for this series—how awesome is that?
Honestly, it was hard at first to take in all of the information at the beginning, but eventually, you'll get there. You can also just skip the explanation on the front page and go back after you finish the book; the information will make more sense and be easier to absorb.
Kai, you grumpy bastard—or at least that was my initial thought—but he turned out to be the softest cinnamon roll ever! This man is so depraved and filthy in the bedroom, in contrast to his polite and stoic self as a prince. Did I mention that he was a jealous bitch too?
His jealousy and neediness were so stinkin' cute! And Esmeralda is just so adorably bratty, no wonder Kai fell so fast for her. Their relationship develops organically during their two-week stay, so it doesn't feel like instalove.
I love their family dynamic so much! Kai's family is big and supportive, they love Kai and adore Esmeralda, so there's no obstacle from them.
Esmeralda's family is the broken one—she lost her parents, and her brother, who is also her King, has abandoned her for reasons to be revealed. But in the end, no matter the obstacles, the fact they are royal alone has made their relationship not easy to maintain. It's interesting to see how they try to make it work.
I was surprised by the smut in this book. It was a slow burn, but once it gets going, my lawddddd! Holy mother of sweet baby Jesus, it was freaking steamy, and all the kinks are played lightly so it doesn't contradict the character's personality too much. This book has the perfect balance of sweet and steamy, in my opinion.

Review: AAAAAAAH I am so glad I saw this book on @ page!!! I saw the cover and knew I had to read this book ☺️ It was amazing I literally loved every single character ❤️ Kai omg this grumpy man did a 360 turn when he was around Esmeralda ☺️ he went from grumpy to 😮💨 he was such a cinnamon roll for her and was head over heels in love ❤️ Esmeralda she was in love with Kai for a very long time and I was so happy for her when Kai started to fall for her and her bratty ways which he loved and adored 🤭🫶🏼 their bond was just so beautiful but DAMN Kai in the bedroom was 🥵🥵🥵 the words that came out of this man’s mouth were FILTHY!!! He needed control and always leaded! 🥵 their love for each other grew and they couldn’t stay away from each other! I devoured this book even though it was 450+ pages it was such an easy read 🥰 it had the perfect amount of slow burn and steaminess and I was all for it 🤭🥵 I cannot wait to read Sher and Mariyah’s book ☺️

4.5 BRIGHT AF 🌟 (a huge thanks to the author for providing me with an ARC in exchange of an honest review)
wow okay, I always struggle with the beginning of my reviews but let me say that I HAD SO MUCH FUN READING THIS BOOK.
TRG had me making two exceptions. one, I try to stay away from the books that have less than 10 trigger warnings but TRG just had me wrapped around its finger. two, I normally don't go for royal romance as comprehending the events, laws and the rules of them always confuse but but TRG is yet another exception. you may ask why. the author did an absolutely amazing job with the world building and there wasn't a single scene that slipped my brain due to incomprehension! which means KUDOS!!!!!
There's that and well there's the depth of the characters. it was obvious how the author knew her characters and how much she respected them enough to give them a type of personality that was not only relatable but also fun to read. They both had secrets and it felt as if *I* carried their secrets with me too which is rare to grasp in books and this one delivered it easily for me.
Every scene made sense. Every incident was understandable. the background of each character made them all realistic and just...wow! I can't even find the right words.
There were some things that didn't sit right with me but these are a "me" problem. so if you're reading this, don't let it get to your head. the first one is the nickname. I know it was intentional for the nickname to be cute but well... I just had a hard time imagining the mmc using the nickname especially during their heated moments. that, and... the first impression that we got from the mmc was that he didn't like her but as we read more and discover the first time that he saw her way before facing her in person opposed with the first impression!
There's that and there's the spice.
for me, spice in books is necessary but only to declare that I read adult romance. but do I READ them? no I usually don't. Was TRG another exception? ABSOLUTELY YES. I devoured the spicy scenes like my meal and enjoyed the toe-curling experiences.
And don't let me begin with the side characters and my favorite, aka Pierre. UGH, my boy is the sweetest and naughtiest and I hope we get his book in the future.
oh and the dynamic between Mariyah and Shehryar? FANTASTIC.
Alright I'm babbling a lot. anyway, I'm just saying that if you don't read this book, you're gonna stay in a reading slump FOREVER. so listen to me, do yourself a favor and READ IT.

I absolutely adored this read. I’m blown away that this is a debut. The writing and storyline is absolute perfection. This is definitely a read for those who love Disney but mixed with spice and a sprinkling of “good girl” and “soft dom” vibes.
I don’t know if it is the Pixar trend that is going around, but I loved whatever I pictured in my head as I read the book. The opening pulls you in with the “Once Upon A Time” vibes (think world building but in a series context) but has a seamless transition to the modern day.
And who doesn’t love a royal romance, plus it’s a Crown Prince and Crown Princess too?! We have our sunshine Princess and our grumpy Prince Charming who is actually the cutest soft dom. We love a man who is soft with you in the day, but a freak in the sheets - I said what I said. Not to forget, the great communication between the two 😘. We stan a supporting, loving relationship
But what makes this an absolute winner for me, as an opening of a series, is the amazing side characters. They are weaved into the story so well and have such amazing personalities (family, best friend, bodyguard etc.). I have my favourites and I am eagerly waiting for their stories.
I highly recommend you pick this book up! This is a Disney, hallmark romance kind of love which my smut lovers will love.

I am giving this 3.5/5 but the rating doesn't allow me so I rounded it off to a 4 and here's why
This girl has talent. I was so pleasantly surprised after I picked up this book. It's not easy to write a book and this one does not feel like a debut novel (correct me if I am wrong) because Nylah Monroe has got some serious writing skills. What was surprising that I had to find out about it through a rather raunchy post on Instagram with an art dedicated to one of the spicier scenes (https://www.instagram.com/p/C0o3MPBIh...) but i am so happy that i did.
Was this book perfect? Far from it but I also believe that many of its flaws were my fault because i have a certain limit of romance tropes and lines and this book managed to hit all of them. All the corny texts, plot lines, characters. It got it all whilst being wrapped up in a pretty red bow ( a huge red hand print on it *wink wink*)
The name Esmeralda was a criminal choice (as well as disguising Disney as Visney which made me roll my eyes) but you have to just get over it and the frist few chapters but the story suddenly picks up and i had to rub my eyes, asking myself when did i suddenly want to devour this book in one afternoon?
The world-building is quiet complicated and i was super thankful for all the info at the beginning of the book and on the author's insta because you can feel a bit lost. Think our normal world but everything had it's name changed and suddenly there are so many more royal families. It was super fun to read it right after finishing the Crown on Netflix because in my head everyone spoke with the Queen's British accent.
Okay, now the spice... this book should be locked up. Into prison and see the light of day for how it made me blush! "Soft dome" was so cheeky because i thought i had seen a lot of spice as an avid romance reader (not into dark romance either, only certain levels work for me) but this book caught me off guard in the best way. If the trigger warning sounded like something you'd be into, dive into this book girlie!
There is still a lot of improvement on the whole corney and cheesy lines (some had made me truly want to laugh in their faces because i can't see anyone talking like some of the people did in this) but i am also super duper excited to see where the next book will take us and whom we will follow (probably Sher and Mikhaela).

When I first started reading this book, I expected it to be full of cliches and maybe some mediocre writing, since its authors debut, so it can be expected. I am so, so happy to say I was wrong.
Yes, sometimes the main character, Esmeralda, acted like she was 16, not 23, there was some drama concerning her older brother, to make us feel more symphatetic towards her and was resolved i don't even know how, and maybe the beginning of Esmeralda's and Kai's relationship was kinda blurry. But honestly? Thats all i can say as far as criticism goes.
When their friendship got on track, I could not put the book down. She fell first, He fell harder at its finest. The spice scenes? I have read many, many smutty books in my time, but this was just chef´s kiss. What i love the most tho? No third act breakup. Yes, there was trouble. Yes, they almost, almost broke up, but Nylah, if you are reading this, I am so greatful you did not make them breakup. That is what made the book so much better for me, so much more real (as much as story in a made-up kingdom can be). I cannot wait for other books from the series, and hopefully, they will steal my heart the same way Esmeralda and Kai did.

Wow! This book was soooo good! It gave me such good vibes and just a huge green flag😍 I’m really happy that I got an arc of this book and I can’t wait to read more, (hopefully in the same world, maybe a series, possibly, hopefully, PLEASSSEEE🙏)
The characters were so adorable and comforting! Literally made for each other, Esmeralda and Kai were just aggghhhhh so freaking cute and perfect, WALKING FREAKING GREEN FLAGS, I don’t know what else to call it!
Calling it a green flag does NOT mean there was any red flag spice, if you know what I mean😉

I don't even know how I'm going to put into words everything that this book has made me feel and go through in the 7 hours that it took me to finish it back to back.
Before starting on Kai and Esmeralda's love story, I would just take a moment to underline that this is a Debut Novel and that this is this author's first publish book.
With that being said, the world building, the plot, the timeline, the characters and their interactions with one another. Everything was in place and incredibly coherent that I just found myself hooked to the last sentence.
Now onto our lovers, first thing is the way their characters were written. Even their "fake facade" as royalties was interesting, the layering in their personalities and the way they unraveled to each other was so heartwarming to read and I feel for them with each page.
If I had the option of rating this book an infinite amount if stars, I would in a heartbeat because this book deserves endless amout of stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I'm sure in the future I WILL be reading every.single.book that this Nylah writes because she just set up a sky rocket standard for me with this book ❤️❤️😍😍

Wow I loved this! Princess Esmeralda of Jahandar has had the biggest crush on Prince Kai of Touma for many years. Now she’s luckily got some good time to admire him close up while in Touma for the annual celebrations of the Peace. I really enjoyed this storyline, I liked that it didn’t have a forbidden vibe but it was more so they were getting to know each other in quiet while everyone was asleep or away from them. The troubles they faced, they did it together as a team and they weren’t silly break up troubles. I loved that his family were rooting for him once they found out and there was no shame in showing small pda.
The character development was very good, especially Esmeralda’s relationship with her brother. I really felt her pain and loved seeing the slow steps they made to repairing their relationship. This story also had a great amount of spice and romance which I thoroughly enjoyed. For a debut novel I really couldn’t fault it and I looked forward to reading more by Nylah!
