“Does this mean I’m a princess?”
“That’s usually what happens when a woman marries a prince.”
“You are my other half, Cora.”
“It’ll be all right, my love,” he assured me quietly.
“Right,” I whispered, not believing him.
His hand brought mine to his chest as his other hand came out, hooked me around the neck and pulled me to him. “If it isn’t, I’ll make it so,” he declared. “That’s a vow.”
“Only you could put color into a colorless world.”

“In this world,” I kept whispering, “you were the only thing I had but you were the only thing I needed.”
“you were the only thing I had but you were the only thing I needed.”
“I will protect you, keep you safe from harm, keep you alive as I vowed to do as your husband and because your sister holds a place in my heart. But for no other reason. You cannot carry logs and cook meat and make me think you sweet. I know you. I know this is not you…Don’t make the mistake of thinking me a fool.”
I was thinking I was falling for a black prince who conquered lands, took care of his people, gave in when I wanted to save a tiny bird and took time to show me his world.
“You’re in love with me and I’ll not give this… other bloody me an opportunity to muddle your head.”
“All right, baby, let’s go do this. I’ll amuse the girls so you boys can plan to kick some bad guy ass.”
We were already having Thumper for lunch and he was apologizing that we weren’t eating Bambi.
"And where are you from, Cora?" he asked with ill-concealed impatience.
"Uh...earth?" I ventured.
His lipes thinned before he told me, "I'm from earth too."
Well, at least we resided on the same planet...ish."
"He was watching me with a look so tender it was a shock when I felt it slice clean through me. The pain was so perfect, it felt exquisite, better by far than any orgasm he'd given me (and he'd given me lots and all of them were good) so I bit my lip and looked away.
"Only you could put color in a colorless world."
"He's a warrior," I whispered. "He has scars here," I moved my finger to touch his chest where Tor's scar was, "and here," I kept whispering, touching another place on his chest, "and...here." I finished with another touch and tipped my head back to look from his chest to his eyes. "He has your eyes, he has your voice and he has half my soul"
"Quiet," he repeated on a growl," I'm about to fuck my wife and the only words I want her saying when I do it are 'yes,' 'Tor,' 'my prince,' 'baby,' and 'oh my God.' Am I understood?"
