The most uplifting rom-com you’ll read this year – a fresh take on the friends-to-lovers trope, brimming with heart, joy and puppies!

Sera loves owning a pet rescue shelter – even if it’s often tricky to make ends meet. Thankfully, she can always rely on her best friend and local vet, Toby, whose true feelings Sera is oblivious to, of course.

That’s until gorgeous and successful actor, Ethan, enters the scene. Ethan has just landed the role of his career, but there’s one small hitch, his co-star is a dog … and Ethan’s terrified.

When Sera saves Ethan from a – rather friendly – German Shepherd, he asks for her help to conquer his dog phobia. As they bumble through a series of chaotic dog walks together, sparks fly, and Sera’s surprised to find herself falling for him.

But not half as surprised as she is when Toby starts acting like a jealous boyfriend.

Now she’s juggling six dogs, a family of kittens, a horse, a sheep, and two men intent on outdoing each other as she tries to figure out what her heart truly wants, before her life goes completely to the dogs.

An Australian rom-com with a love triangle and animals. This book could’ve worked for me, but it honestly didn’t. Besides the fact that there is a love triangle between people in their late 20s and early 30s (which is just pathetic and this trope shouldn’t be written for people at this age); so many interactions consisted of drinking beer and getting takeaway between the mc and her friend…there was no substance. I also felt like the dialogue was just immature and didn’t suit the age demographic. There was some dialogue that made me giggle, which made me like the book. Both love interests did display some red flags which put me off. Is it too much to ask for a good rom-com with decent men?

Thank you @simonschusterau for a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.

This was such a super cute rom-com!!

Sera Madden is a local heroine, running an animal shelter. Her best friend is Toby McManus, the local vet. For two years, their close relationship has been strictly platonic.

Until Ethan James, movie star, lands on their doorstep. He's preparing for a new role, and needs Sera's help.

Enter one big, complicated love triangle. Sera has a First World Problem: two hotties are both interested in her. Whilst she's infatuated with Ethan and falling hard, new confusing feelings for her bestie emerge.

Will Sera choose #TeamEthan, who can provide financial stability for her rescue and the opportunity of a lifetime or #TeamToby, who's constantly reliable and can't possibly be left behind?

It was incredibly difficult which team to support! Just when I thought that I'd landed on a ship, something incredibly stupid happened, making me jump to the other. There's so much jealousy and tension in the air!! And I'm not just talking about the two clashing egos!

Amy Hutton's debut made me smile, laugh and scream out in frustration. Sit, Stay, Love was perfect in every way.

Quite predictable and I did not like the main characters that much. If you need an easy read with no need of thinking, this is for you.

I absolutely loved this sweet romance! Sera runs a Animal Rescue taking in every abandoned animal and finds them their forever home. Her best friend, movie watcher and animal lover is Toby the local vet. Their friendship is disrupted by Ethan a handsome actor who asks Sera to help him prepare for an upcoming movie involving a dog. The love triangle begins. Each character is so vividly written. I laughed, teared up and smiled so as I read. Amy Hutton's debut novel is perfect!!

I picked this up at the airport because I finished my book and needed something. I wasn't expecting much. Normally I steer clear of any books with dogs in them, because they usually end up breaking my heart (Here's looking at you Marley & Me and A Dog's Journey).

This book wasn't going to be winning any great literature awards, but I don't think that was its intention, either. Unfortunately it just really didn't do it for me.

The main character, Sera, I found extremely vapid. She was an absolute idiot or an absolute bitch, and honestly, maybe a little bit of both.

I don't mind love triangles - but when it's the basis of your whole book, you've got to know it. The book was obviously predictable, we all knew who she was *supposed* to end up with. But the author spent the first half of the book talking up Ethan and then seemed to realise that she'd done so good a job with him that naturally everyone would be rooting for him, so in the middle she made him do something that was so jarringly out of character that I basically just considered it not-cannon.

Toby, the one Sera was supposed to choose, acted like an absolute prick for most of the book, to be honest. Typical 'nice guy', 'I've been pining for you for two years I deserve your love and I deserve to dictate who you do or do not spend time with'. I will give him a slight pass on account of the fact that Sera absolutely had been taking advantage of him that whole time. She'd been using him for two years for vet care for her personal and shelter animals and not once paid him a cent - not for his time or the materials/products used? AAAAND she makes him pay for drinks and dinner? Giiiiirl. Toby deserves so much better.

I also found it jarring that it was very much set in Australia (Northern Beaches), and used very Aussie terms and references, but then kept 'americanising' things. So she kept calling things 'sweatshirts' (I gotta be honest, i'm not entirely sure what a sweatshirt is?), and track bottoms and she called a ute a 'truck'. I'm sorry, is this book Australian or not?

In saying that, I believed she wrote a second book where Ethan gets his girl. Given he was the most likeable character of the three, maybe I'll give that one a burl. I didn't mind the actual writing, though there were a number of typos/errors through out the book (as early as page 4). The dialogue was pretty good and there were some amusing moments. Unfortunately it just wasn't a very good representation of either the love triangle trope or the 'friends-to-lovers' trope.

3.5 ✨

📖💐 IN
- Australian setting
- an animal shelter (I think rescue can often be portrayed negatively, especially with a single female at the helm - cue crazy cat lady!)
- ALL of the animals
- the realisation that I want to write copy for a funeral home
- light and fluffy
- cute cover

📕❌ OUT
- minimal spice, no real build up
- Toby’s gross attitude towards Ethan for 90% of the book. Yes Ethan did some uncool things (which felt like they came out of the blue) but Toby was so DRAINING and no one called him out. Sera did a couple of times but moved on quickly or laughed about it.
- the constant denial of Sera and her feelings towards Toby, it got very tiresome
- the audiobook narrator.. I got used to it by the end but at the start it feel very ‘librarian reading a book to school kids’ which I don’t vibe for a romance!

Cute, easy read about being the last to know that you’ve fallen in love with your own best friend.

Sera owns an animal shelter and her best friend, Toby, is the vet on speed dial. When Hollywood actor, Ethan James, drops by to say he’s got a strange dog in his yard and he needs help - in more ways than one - it kicks of a rivalry between the two men for Sera’s affection.

The winner of the love triangle was pretty clear from the beginning, but I liked that they were both good guys. There was no default win because one of them turned out to be a jerk.

I liked Sera, for the most part, though her constant denial and naivety got a bit grating at times. I liked Toby, too, though between the two of them the lack of proper communication was very frustrating. Nonetheless, I was satisfied with how the story went.

Sit, Stay, Love by Amy Hutton was a delightful read, it had me giggling away in spots and my heart going out to the characters in other parts. The love triangle was pitched perfectly, there was nothing unbelievable about it, you can picture it perfectly in your mind.
I loved the characters, kind hearted Sera who has no idea of Toby's love for her, the sexy and kind Toby who has been in love with Sera since they met, and Ethan who under his movie star good looks and ego has vulnerabilities just like everyone else. If your looking for a light-hearted page turning read this is perfect, I highly recommend it and look forward to reading more of Amy's books

Sera Madden runs an animal sanctuary, Rose’s Rescue, in the Northern Beaches area of Sydney. Dr. Tony McManus is her local vet and best friend. Their comfortable and friendly relationship is upended when Ethan James, a popular Australian actor, needs help with his new role in a movie featuring dogs. Filled with adorable animals and their heartwarming antics, the setting as well as the sweet cover were the main highlights for me. I am not a fan of the love triangle trope nor smutty dialogue and scenes. A tad tedious with a drawn out plot, but the animals and the minor characters kept me interested. I am happy to give the next book a go which I believe is centred around Ethan.

A sweet love story with puppies

This was a very enjoyable and very well written story about two people with a good friendship and afraid to take that extra step. At times I did feel the female lead was almost annoying in her refusal to look at the reality of the relationship and took far too long to realise the truth.
Overall however the pace and language used kept the novel moving nicely and provided an entertaining read. The patience and love of animals was outstanding.

What a delightful, uplifting rom com!

Sera runs an animal shelter and gets caught up in a love triangle with her hot vet friend and a hot actor.

I loved Sera’s chemistry with her best friend Toby the vet, it was so super cute and he was equally as cute imo. She had the best parents and work colleagues.

I really enjoyed how the book was written and how nicely it flowed. I was giggling, smiling from ear to ear and just loved it all. It was nice to have a variety of dogs throughout the book and the fun names they were given, it was heartwarming and adorable ❤️

This is just what I needed!

Sit, Stay, Love by Australian author Amy Hutton is a lighthearted romance fun fiction novel at its best. It is a simple feel-good story of love that will bring a smile to your face and leave you feeling warm inside.

Owning a pet rescue shelter was not easy but Sera Madden could not imagine doing anything else, she named the shelter Rose’s Rescue after her grandmother who also had a love for animals. At times it was hard to get by, but she had great support in her long-time friend Dr Toby McManus who owns the Petside Vet Clinic. Their friendship was platonic, and Sera never saw it any different even though they had spent many nights cuddled up on the couch watching movies.

When Sera unexpectedly meets drop dead gorgeous actor Ethan James, she feels a schoolgirl giddiness and saving him from a friendly German Shepherd was icing on the cake. Ethan was back in Sydney and had landed an amazing role, the only problem was his co-star is a dog and he had not let on to the director he has a fear of them. Knowing Sera owns a pet rescue he asks for help in conquering his phobia.

With time spent together Sera and Ethan soon develop mutual feelings that neither can deny. However, when Toby shows his true feelings, things become complicated. Now Sera has two men to choose between and does not know which way to turn. Will she choose Ethan or Toby, and will it be the right choice?

Amy Hutton offers a delicious treat for rom-com lovers in Sit, Stay, Love. With vibrant characters and an engaging plot, the author takes readers on a ride with this thoroughly entertaining love story full of humour and heart. The plot is well-paced, with the narrative moving smoothly without a single hitch, it is a clean romantic comedy and a fun story with many laugh-out-loud moments.

The characters pop off the pages with distinct quirks and qualities that make them memorable.
Sera, our protagonist, is gorgeous, kind, and selfless in all her deeds, she is very easy to relate to, showcasing the importance of friendship and working together. You cannot help but want for her happily ever after.

Toby, I adored he is the kind of character you root for and cheer on from the very beginning. He is such a sweetheart and a true friend, I found myself thoroughly invested in him winning Sera over. I enjoyed the way the author builds up the tension, creating jealously and emotional conflict.

I didn’t like Ethan at first, but over time, warmed up to him, spending time together Sera’s and Ethan's personalities complement each other in a way that feels organic and compelling. They have great chemistry and, combined with the witty dialogue and light-hearted banter, it makes for an absorbing read.

I love books with animals, especially when they are rescue, any self-respecting animal lover will fall in love with these four-legged characters, just like people, they deserve to be happy and to be loved.

I had a wonderful time reading this novel. Sit, Stay, Love should be at the top of every romance reader's to-read list. I highly recommend.

Thank you, Beauty and Lace and Simon & Schuster Australia for the opportunity to read and review.

I heard about this book on a recent episode of a podcast I’ve started listening to and it sounded really fun. I loved the idea of it revolving around a rescue shelter – I’ve done some foster work for an animal rescue in the past and I follow a couple of people who are really big into the kitten rescue scene in the US, including caring for very high needs and young kittens. I thought it’d make a great backdrop for a book and although love triangle isn’t my favourite, I can get past it if I can see the outcome.

So Sera inherited her grandmother Rose’s house (conveniently located in a very prestigious area of Sydney in a place that still has quite a lot of bush but is still close to the ocean) and turned it into an animal rescue by way of circumstance really. She’s become best friends with her local vet Toby who does a lot (all of?) the vet work Sera needs for free and I cannot tell you what a bonus that would be to anyone running a rescue. The people I mentioned before? Often have vet bills of like, $8000 for just one kitten. Sera and Toby are best friends, the very best of friends, nothing more than friends because they are friends and anything else would ruin the best friendness that they have.

So when Ethan James, a local boy who got discovered and has been in a few mildly successful movies in the fantasy genre, pops in for help about a dog in his backyard that definitely isn’t his, Sera can’t help herself. Ethan is gorgeous and funny and very sweet – and he seems interested in her too. He asks Sera to help him get over his fear of dogs for a role and soon they are spending a lot of time together and things are heating up. But Toby is acting strangely and Sera is pretending very hard that she can’t see why.

Sera is so wilfully ignorant in this it’s almost painful. I get it, she is like we are best friends, we got a good thing going, we see each other almost every day for a lot of take out food and bad television, why would we want to ruin that…. It’s something as old as time in a friends to lovers story. But Sera, please. Everyone keeps telling you Toby is in love with you and she’s all “oh no…..surely he isn’t….I mean he’s acting crazy over this hot new guy who has clearly made his interest in me known and I’m drooling over him because he’s hot but no, I don’t know why Toby is bothered?” I could understand her not knowing (or not wanting to realise) in the beginning but after many people literally tell her, she still keeps up the charade.

This was cute and fun in many ways and I really liked highlighting story of all the rescues and how they came to be in the shelter. Honestly, there are many people out there who should never have pets, who will discard them at the drop of a hat (the woman in the story that dropped off freshly born kittens without their mother), will treat them terribly. It’s places like the shelter Sera runs that do the hard work caring for them both in their physical and medical needs but also their mental needs as well, providing exercise, care, love and attention, trying to get them as ready as they can be to find their forever home. It would be the sort of job that would be very rewarding at times but also very, very disheartening at other times. Sera is lucky in that she owns a property where the shelter is being run out of which lowers a lot of her overheads (and as I mentioned, seems to get a lot of her vet work done for absolutely nothing) but she still struggles and Ethan, as a relatively big name, offers to help her fundraise using himself.

The thing with love triangles that I don’t like is that they impact the development of the ‘happy ever after’ relationship by devoting half the time or more to the decoy love interest. And to be honest that does happen a bit here. I don’t want to spoil it but I did feel like there wasn’t enough natural development in the end choice. I want more moments between the final couple for it to feel like you can see how they might be.

It is a cute debut, I love the animals and the devotion and I actually liked both the love interests (barring the brain fade that one of them had late in the book, which felt a bit overdone) and I liked Sera. But I have to admit, something about the love triangle itself left me wanting and perhaps that’s why I don’t tend to really love books that contain one. The whole idea of the main character feeling torn over two men feels a bit asinine – just make a choice. But all in all I did find this enjoyable and it passed a morning quite pleasurably and I’d read another Amy Hutton in the future for sure.

Sit, Stay, Love is a fun romance with a love triangle and plenty of dogs behaving badly (or cutely) to interrupt serious conversations. It is a fresh entry into this genre by Amy Hutton with a great Australian feel. (Think beach).

Sera runs Rose’s Rescue, named after her grandmother who left her the property she runs her animal rescue from. It’s not exactly profitable, but Sera enjoys her work and finding new homes for the animals. Plus, she gets great mates’ rates from best friend and local very Toby. They are firm friends, nothing more, even though everyone else thinks it would be great if they got together. Everything is doing fine until Sera needs to rescue movie star Ethan from a German Shepherd. It turns out he’s scared of dogs after a nasty incident – and has just signed on to do a movie where a dog is his main co-star. Ethan wants Sera to help him get over his dog phobia, and is prepared to pay her handsomely which just make makes ends meet at the rescue. Sera and Ethan get along well, but as their lessons continue, Toby gets weirder and weirder. Why he dislikes Ethan so is pretty clear to everyone except Sera and soon she is juggling two men demanding her attention and affection. Who will she pick?

This novel is very pleasant, it’s warm and familiar with some laugh out loud moments. The sniping between Toby and Ethan doesn’t get old, nor did Toby and Sera’s cluelessness towards each other either. If you’re a fan of dogs, you will love all the different breeds mentioned and their personalities (I don’t know dog descriptors between big or small). Although the plot is mainly centred on the love triangle, there are enough subplots about Sera’s business and Ethan’s work to keep the reader interested. The different facets of Ethan and Toby’s characters are well done, revealing both their positives and less desirable traits to the reader. It made for a difficult decision when trying to choose who Sera should end up with!

The novel also has a lovely Australian feel to it, despite it being set on the edge of the city. Both the beach and the bush are well represented in Sera’s day to day life and it just feels familiar and cosy. (And maybe just a bit like Home and Away in the setting, but with less drama and more pets). The story flows well with no slow parts and Hutton has a talent for whip smart dialogue. It’s a delight to read, and it would make for a great TV series (if only for the scenes where Sera and Toby watch Ethan’s movies)!

Thank you to Simon & Schuster for the ARC. My review is honest.

Making a love triangle contemporary romance work where the MCs are in their 30s is a tough ask, and for the most part I think Hutton delivers. Overall I really liked this book, being charmed mostly by the dogs and the ever-loyal and supportive vet and Best Friend Toby.

Set in Sydney's Northern Beaches, we find local animal rescue-owner Sera living her best life and leaning heavily on her vet friend Toby for both free care for her found animals and for her social and friendship needs. They spend virtually every day together either working or hanging out eating takeaway and watching movies. Sure, they're both attractive, single young folk but Sera's only ever thought of him as a good friend.

Cue a chance encounter with movie star Ethan who comes crashing into both their lives with a stray dog needing to be rescued. He ends up hanging around using the excuse he needs Sera (who we should note is in no way a trained professional) to assist him with his dog phobia for an upcoming movie role. And of course he is hitting on her left, right and centre the entire time too.

Things that worked: the story itself was a fairly light-hearted romance about a girl who just doesn't know what she wants and winds up kissing two attractive but very different men. The supporting characters were fun too, with Sera's work colleagues and even her family always rooting for the home team contender. The dogs are almost main characters themselves and I particularly fell in love with Buffy the Staffy.

Things that didn't work: the usual back-and-forth, will-they-won't-they of these kind of relationship dynamics. I got heartily sick in the end of Sera trying to convince herself that Ethan was the best option. I don't think it's a spoiler to say this is a friends-to-lovers romance, so she doesn't ever need to be in danger of choosing the movie star. I also found her unacknowledged family wealth and Pretty Privilege a little annoying. Don't we wish we all inherited large properties with heaps of acreage and had parents who could whack $5k or $10k into our passion projects when they were in financial difficulty? The fact that Sera was not only able to still be wishy-washy about her career at such an old age AND have the face to not only attract a movie star but keep him interested was a little much for me to swallow. Lastly, I think some of the activities she did with Ethan re his dog phobia were more than a little dangerous and irresponsible - that part was pretty OTT.

NB - this is open door with one sex scene right at the end, medium spice.

All this said however, I will probably still read the next in the series!

Seriously, this book is fabulous from start to finish. I was on tenterhooks the whole time when reading.

The novel surrounds itself with this beautiful girl Sera who was bequeathed her grandmother’s beautiful Federation style home at Oxford Falls in Sydney. The surrounds have a small paddock and only minutes from the ocean.

Sera thought about selling the house but along with the house she had inherited her Grandmother Rose’s three ancient cats so plans to sell, would have to be put on hold.

Out and about one day, she comes across some dumped puppies and this is what would start her business of Rose’s Rescue. It is a struggle keeping the animal shelter going though but Sera is determined not to let it close down.

It’s not hard to love the character of Sera and her amazing efforts of saving animals in the most awkward places and tending to their needs. Not only puppies or dogs, but kittens, and horse and sheep.

Helping her with dealing with medical things and checks for the animals is Toby the Vet who she has this wonderful friendship with. They have movie and pizza nights and generally have fun.
Another character comes into Sera’s life in the form of Ethan James, a move star that was in obviously a fictional story called Throne of Kings and also has been in Home & Away. Sera became besotted with him as she helped his fear of dogs by giving him lessons on how to deal with dogs because he had a movie that was going to have a border collie as his co-star.

The storyline will be a tug of war for love and the other characters in the book are equally memorable as well.

I absolutely loved this book as it is beautifully written to capture your attention. I enjoyed reading the places as Sydney is my birth place and I could visualise a lot of the places like Narrabeen Lakes and Manly.

There are lines in this book that had me giggling and fanning my face. Definitely a book worth reading and one that you will absolutely love.

I dare say we will see a bit more of Amy Hutton down the track. She captures the reader’s attention with so much detail and storyline that holds your attention.

“Sit, Stay, Love” is a romance with absolutely no surprises, but enough individuality to entertain and engage readers.

Sera has almost accidentally found herself running an animal shelter and rescue service. Not that she really minds; she loves animals and has abundant and generous help from her friend Toby, a vet. However, it’s a constant scrabble for money. And she’s so busy with the animals that it’s been literally years since she dated.

One day Toby’s helping her with some rescue kittens, when the incredibly hot movie star Ethan James turns up on his doorstep. Ethan is desperate for help with a stray dog, and Sera is perfectly equipped to help. She’s also willing to have a go at helping him to overcome his fear of dogs.

But when things start heating up between Sera and Ethan, Toby starts acting weird. Why is her friend behaving so oddly? Sera’s finally found an attractive man to romance her. And Toby’s just a friend… isn’t he?

The novel makes a fair bit of the fact that everyone but Sera can see Toby’s feelings for her. And yes, it’s obvious. And I really don’t think anyone will be surprised by the ending. However, the novel dangles a credible alternative, adding just enough suspense to draw the reader on.

I personally really enjoyed seeing a character who’s afraid of dogs. I don’t like dogs, and it’s kind of irritating that every fictional person ever seems to love them. Only Bad People don’t like dogs, apparently. It was great to see a character who doesn’t adore them, and some of the awkwardness that comes with that. This, in fact, was one of the things that helped distinguish this from every other novel I’ve read with animals in it.

This is a very easy read. It’s nicely written, and although there aren’t many surprises, the plot still keeps you interested. The characters are strong and their behaviour believable. The overall tone is pleasant and warm.

This isn’t going to give you much food for thought, but it will entertain you and leave you with a smile on your face. That’s never a bad thing, is it?

Thank you to Simon & Schuster Australia for a gifted copy in exchange for an honest review!

Romantic, funny and swoon-worthy.

We follow the story of Sera Madden - a young woman who loves animals and owns an animal shelter. Sera takes in animals of all shapes and sizes who are in need, and with the help of Toby McManus - her best friend and vet - she nurses sick animals back to health.

Sera and Toby have been best friends for years - their shared love of animals and movie nights at each other's houses, is still as strong as it was two years ago when they became friends. Set in NSW, Australia, I enjoyed picturing the ocean and bush, and it set the scene perfectly.

Sera's life takes an unexpected - but not unwanted - turn when famous actor Ethan James walks into her shelter after finding a dog in his backyard. What starts off as Sera helping Ethan becomes something full of new opportunities and possibilities. Meanwhile, Sera is beginning to question if her best friend, Toby, has feelings for her.

While the love triangle was intriguing, I feel like it came on a bit too strong, too fast. The love triangle was apparent within the first few chapters, and it took over the whole storyline. Instead of focusing more on the animals - as I would have preferred - the story focused on Sera's inability to make up her mind, and it let the book down.

The love triangle also frustrated me because the indecision was hurting everyone involved. There was a spotlight on Sera's relationships rather than on the animal shelter and saving animals.

Apart from the love triangle taking centre stage in the novel, I adored the idea of a book focusing on having an animal shelter. I loved how both Sera and Toby loved animals, especially the latter, who was always happy to help the animals in any way he could.

Perfect for fans of a romance with a love triangle!

This book was truly so much fun to read! I found myself laughing out loud a lot; that can only be good. I loved Sera's animal rescue place, and the way she finds herself under houses and covered in muck rescuing stray animals, and then caring for them. I loved Toby the vet, who was clearly in love with Sera from the start but going cautiously so he didn't frighten her away - like a wild animal, I guess. And I loved Ethan, the film star who seemed like a genuinely nice guy and dazzled Sera and everyone around him with his flirty smiles and Mr Nice Guy manners. He did come with a few 'normal-ish' hangups and such, so it was nice he was able to talk, as in really talk, to Sera. In fact he was nice to everyone, mostly, except Toby. When Toby and Ethan were together the testosterone crackled and snapped, each male vying for the female's attention and trying to be the alpha male, just like, well, animals. And Sera couldn't figure out why! Ha. I read this on a really cold autumn day, the sky leaden and drippy outside and a wind whipping sodden leaves around like crazy. The book brightened me up so completely I forgot about the miserable weather, what wonderful fun. (And oh, Toby and the pug...)

In the tug of war for her heart…. Who will take the lead?

Okay firstly, how gorgeous is this cover! Thank you Simon n Schuster for my arc copy in exchange for an honest review.

I really loved the book, anything with dogs has me hooked so the fact this was mainly surrounding dogs you had me hook line and sinker. Also throw in the fact I felt like Ethan might as well have been a Chris Hemsworth dupe, I am totally here for it!!

This was such an easy, fun light hearted read! I loved the banter, the friendship with Toby + Sera, the friendship that grew between Sera + Ethan. 🤌🏼 I’m not usually a fan of love triangles but I did enjoy this witty rom com.

I will say I would’ve thought they were early 20’s not late 20’s early 30’s just from the story / dialogue / how they acted but I honestly just read it as them all being younger 😂 that’s just my brain.

Overall I LOVED this book and I hope you go and read it and enjoy it too.

⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

Sit, Stay, Love was a super fun, light hearted read filled with so many dogs! There were many elements that I really enjoyed, however, as many of these romances, it was a little predictable.

In the tug-of-war for her heart, who will take the lead?

✨ OUT NOW! ✨

Love triangles aren’t my favourite trope but honestly it was pretty light haha and I feel like you knew who she was going to end up with early on in the story.
I still loved all the moments Sera had with both Ethan and Toby. There were many surprisingly funny interactions. We also can’t forget that this s set in Australia, so bonus points there!
I had a really great time reading Sit, Stay Love, a great debut from Amy Hutton!

"You're all my happy days.”

What you’ll find in Sit, Stay, Love:
- Romance Comedy
- Slow burn
- Friends to Lovers
- Love Triangle
- Small town
- So many Doggies!
- Debut Novel

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. Thanks to Simon and Schuster for my gifted copy.

✍️ Sera runs an animal rescue shelter with her handsome best friend Toby as the Vet. When movie star Ethan appears on her doorstep with request of help with his next movie role involving a dog, Sera finds things heating up between the pair as well as jealousy and other feelings brewing with Toby.

Charming, Delightful and Swoony, "Sit, Stay, Love" was an Utterly Stunning Debut! I absolutely RELISHED it.

The storyline was Cute and Clever as I Savoured the entire book from start to finish and was Devoted in the characters of the lovely Sera, Charismatic Ethan and sweet Toby and the plethora of Canine and Feline creatures that were featured throughout.

I enjoyed the Love Triangle Trope which was displayed in a fun and rousing way. I was #teamtoby right from the start. I couldn't put it down.

This story featured all the right themes and elements that a Rom Com should have to offer. lighthearted and thoughtful with the perfect balance of Romance, Spice and Humour as well as cute and cuddly dogs and cats to make it a little more of a fun and entertaining read.

Highly recommend!

This is a fun little Rom com. This is one of those books I might be too old for. And have read so many romances, I know the genre so well I sometimes can
predict the next plot line. This is one of those books.

The premise is good, the characters well rounded and the humor is great. All of the characters evolve throughout the story, and you get to both hate and love each and everyone of them at different points in the book. All good things.
But if you’re an avid romance reader, you can guess pretty early on what going happen. And it’s no longer af case of who gets together, but how and why.
This story is cute and funny but a tiny bit too predictable.
Don’t get me wrong, there’s plot twists and dramas, and highs and lows, and a whole lot of kissing, but I could see it coming. So I skipped a little bit of all the drama and went straight to the happy ending. And the happy ending is so sweet filled with humor and warmth. And one of the best and lovelyest love scenes I ever read.
So it 3,5 🌟🌟🌟✨ for me.

SIT. STAY. LOVE by @amyhuttonauthor

This was a tale of friendship and love. What happens when you take the leap from best friends to lovers?? When a gorgeous, down to earth movie start is thrown into the love triangle in a small town, a friendship is tested.

These hopelessly flawed, kind, caring and realistic characters jump off the page and pull you into their world. The animals are just as important characters as the humans. You fall in love and care about what happens to both humans and animals.

The people and the situations they find them self in made me laugh, cry and shout at them. I wanted them all to have their happy ending and find themselves with the people they belonged to. With a sense of community, love and friendship this romantic comedy have me all the feels.

I look forward to reading more from this generous and kind hearted author.

What an absolutely gorgeous story! It’s hard to believe that Sit, Stay, Love is Amy Hutton’s first book because it’s written so beautifully. Her characters are vibrant and believable as are the animals—mostly dogs—that are central to this story, which is sweet, endearing, funny and charming. I loved Sera’s kind heart and her care for the animals she rescued, though I could have hit her over the head for not seeing the love shining out of Toby’s eyes whenever he looked at her, nor for recognising that her feelings for him were more than just friendship. Ethan was also an interesting character, with that mix of self-centredness that successful actors seem to portray and friendly down to earth charm when he wasn’t centre stage. It didn’t hurt one bit that he—and Toby— were drop dead gorgeous. I flowed through this story with a goofy smile on my face and a chuckle not too far away for much of the time. I am eagerly anticipating Amy Hutton’s next book.
