For comparison, I started writing Lust for Tomorrow in March of 2022 and the first draft was done after pretty much exactly one year. I got my editor's feedback about six weeks later, then spent another month or so on revisions.

I started working on book two in June 2023. The work has been interrupted a few times along the way (actually publishing LfT put the writing process on hold for most of December and January, and I lost all of April to a hospitalization). It's also a bit longer so far (that's what dual POV does to you, I guess). Guesstimating time frames makes me itch, in truth. I'll keep updating on social, but I suspect I'll be sending a draft to my editor within the summer.(less)

Writing a book… oops, I mean books

When I started writing Nina and Tom’s story, I had no idea what it was going to be in terms of length or scope. I just wanted to spend time with them, and then I got intrigued by the things happening around and to them. 100% pantser. Eventually, I saw some of where the story was going, and I tried to tell it in one book. I really did. But I ran into a pretty insurmountable problem: Once the romanc

"Please note that this book was labeled as dark romance, its a bvlly romance and the MMC Carter (my husband) is a unapologetic character who made the FMCs life really difficult. So yeah pls check the TWs before diving in.

Anne Morrow Lindbergh
“When you love someone, you do not love them all the time, in exactly the same way, from moment to moment. It is an impossibility. It is even a lie to pretend to. And yet this is exactly what most of us demand. We have so little faith in the ebb and flow of life, of love, of relationships. We leap at the flow of the tide and resist in terror its ebb. We are afraid it will never return. We insist on permanency, on duration, on continuity; when the only continuity possible, in life as in love, is in growth, in fluidity - in freedom, in the sense that the dancers are free, barely touching as they pass, but partners in the same pattern.

The only real security is not in owning or possessing, not in demanding or expecting, not in hoping, even. Security in a relationship lies neither in looking back to what was in nostalgia, nor forward to what it might be in dread or anticipation, but living in the present relationship and accepting it as it is now. Relationships must be like islands, one must accept them for what they are here and now, within their limits - islands, surrounded and interrupted by the sea, and continually visited and abandoned by the tides.”
Anne Morrow Lindbergh, Gift from the Sea

Richard Bach
“A soulmate is someone who has locks that fit our keys, and keys to fit our locks. When we feel safe enough to open the locks, our truest selves step out and we can be completely and honestly who we are; we can be loved for who we are and not for who we’re pretending to be. Each unveils the best part of the other. No matter what else goes wrong around us, with that one person we’re safe in our own paradise. Our soulmate is someone who shares our deepest longings, our sense of direction. When we’re two balloons, and together our direction is up, chances are we’ve found the right person. Our soulmate is the one who makes life come to life. ”
Richard Bach
