You are right, not really my thing - although I can remember in music class when I was a kid our one teacher seemed to be in love with them, so we sang a lot of their stuff. Still, I didn't start interviewing musicians until 1998 - and the interviews only got started a few years ago. I would have definitely considered interviewing Richard, though, if the opportunity had presented itself. I never thought about reaching out on that one. And, The Carpenters definitely didn't fit into "The Strange Sound of Cthulhu." (less)

Otherwise, the "Star Trek" universe would be great. As much as I'm a fan of H.P. Lovecraft, that world would the last place anyone would want to wind up in reality. (less)

Realizing the Dream of Music Street Journal

With a big milestone coming up in less than a week, I have been reflecting on the history of Music Street Journal. The very first issue of Music Street Journal was "published" on February 1st 1998. So, when the new issue goes live on the 28th of this month (at some point we started publishing the new issues on the 28th of the month preceding the issue month), it will be our 20th Anniversary issue. A Girl's Gotta Eat by Elizabeth Lynn Blackson
"This book checked a lot of boxes for me. Pain, both physical and mental. Grotesque otherworldly horrors reminiscent of Lovecraft. The horror factor was good but not great; it wasn't "OMG, so scary I've got to put the book down," but rather, "I have t" Read more of this review »
