The last line of the song is: 'One chicken two chickens three chickens / Oh shoot I think that's a duck.'

While speaking to Taste of Country, she said that she had played the song for her boyfriend before releasing it.

The idiom-filled ballad sees Lainey admitting that she is putting all of her eggs in one basket, however, she doesn't mind.

Lainey told the outlet that the lyric was a reference to her romance with Devlin.

She revealed that her boyfriend 'loved' it and thought there should be more nods to ducks.

'He was like, "Why ain't it ducks?" and I said, "Well I'm dating the Duck so I write about chickens,' the country star recalled.

'He loved it because at the end of the song I say, "One chicken, two chickens, three chickens, oh shoot I think that's a duck," and that's just for him.'

Lainey revealed that her boyfriend was 'flattered' that she had written him a love ballad before divulging their plans for marriage.

However, she clarified that the couple was still enjoying non-marital bliss and that they weren't quite ready to tie the knot.

She explained: 'I think it needs to be during a season of our life where we really have the time to enjoy it. Right now it would be like, "Oh shoot, I'm engaged, all right on to the next thing," and I just want to like be able to really soak it in.'

Further in the interview, Lainey revealed that she and Miranda Lambert had become close friends - adding that she often gave her advice on how to handle life in the limelight.

She dubbed Miranda her 'country music big sister' and said that she always called her when she needed advice.

Lainey and Delvin made their debut as a couple walking the red carpet at the 2023 Academy of Country Music Awards on May 11 at the Ford Center in Frisco, Texas.

'He's been around for a while. I just decided to make him wait for two-and-a-half years,' the Things a Man Oughta Know artist said a month after their public debut.
