The New Republic Survey Corps was a part of the New Republic. At some point following the Battle of Jakku[1] in 5 ABY,[2] members of the survey corps captured an image of the crashed Imperial-class Star Destroyer[1] Inflictor[2] in the Starship Graveyard on the desert planet Jakku.[1] In 35 ABY,[3] the historian Beaumont Kin credited the corps when using the image in[1] his[4] book, The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
In the current Star Wars canon, the New Republic Survey Corps was mentioned in the 2024 reference book Star Wars: The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire, which was written by Dr. Chris Kempshall.[1] The corps originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was mentioned in Cracken's Threat Dossier, a 1997 supplement for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game published by West End Games.[5]

- ↑ Star Wars: The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire states that thirty years have passed since the end of the Galactic Civil War and months have passed since the Battle of Exegol. As Star Wars: Timelines dates the end of the war to 5 ABY and the Battle of Exegol to 35 ABY, the in-universe The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire must have been published in 35 ABY.
