- "There's spice, of course, but stick with andris, carsunum, or sansanna and never mess around with ryll or the prime Kessel strains."
- ―Platt Okeefe
Andris was a variant of spice that was mined on Seylott,[2] Empress Teta and its moon Atale. It was used as food additive and preservative, but could also be used as a remedy for hibernation sickness.[1] The smuggler Platt Okeefe recommended it as a profitable cargo for smugglers in the pirate Maz Kanata's Smuggler's Guide and warned against trafficking variants such as ryll or the strains of spice mined on Kessel.[2]
Behind the scenes[]
Andris was first mentioned in the 2018 canon reference book Star Wars: Smuggler's Guide, written by Daniel Wallace.[2] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, andris was introduced in the 1998 novel Young Jedi Knights: Return to Ord Mantell, written by Kevin J. Anderson and Rebecca Moesta.[3]
