Amy Nicholson FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) I have to warn that you may need to be a little twisted to love this film... Definitely the most tense I've felt in a long time. I can't recommend it high enough. Sep 17, 2024 Full Review Dennis Harvey Variety The coolly controlled film unsettles with a kind of diseased psychological atmosphere -- hewing not from the mindset of the accused so much as the parasitical sickness that makes spectators obsess over his kind. Sep 7, 2024 Full Review Katie Rife RogerEbert.com Plante’s unblinking screw-tightening builds to one of the most jaw-dropping scenes of this or any year. Rated: 3/4 Sep 6, 2024 Full Review Joey Keogh Vague Visages It’s disappointing that writer-director Plante doesn’t quite manage to stick the landing because he ratchets the tension up very effectively. Red Rooms also loses steam when the action moves outside the courtroom. Sep 19, 2024 Full Review Nadine Whitney The Curb A disturbing and unique crime thriller, Red Rooms is provocative and polished. Impeccably stylish and atmospheric; Red Rooms imprints itself on the viewer like a maddening nightmare. Rated: 4.5/5 Sep 19, 2024 Full Review Payton McCarty-Simas Film Inquiry Pascal Plante’s Red Rooms is an exercise in epistemological uncertainty, as impersonal as the glazed surfaces of an ultra-modern courthouse, cold as stale air conditioning implacably blasted long after the chill of fall has set in. Mr. Hollywood An effective thriller. Not much happens but it happens in an interesting way. Good cinematography, acting and pace. Will be disturbing but its worth the watch Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/14/24 Full Review Tom B. A compelling. well-told story about true crime obsession, even one apparently well-intentioned. Well cast, well acted, well written. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/12/24 Full Review Thomas S Too long and too boring. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/11/24 Full Review Gary G For a movie of the "dark side of humanity" genre this was a good one. I'd like to think the best of the main characters intentions at the end. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 09/07/24 Full Review Audience Member Great film. Had my gears turning the whole time. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 09/16/24 Full Review Lon W ALL I CAN SAY IS I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT HAPPENED BUT I ENJOYED THIS THING!! ACTRESS TOTALLY MESMERIZING. AND STORY HAD ME RIVITED. HAD A HARD TIME WITH SOME THINGS AS I HAVE A DAUGHTER AND CANNOT IMAGINE THE THINGS THE KILLER DID. BUT GOOD STUFF. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 09/14/24 Full Review Read all reviews
