The subject of this article is part of an MCU franchise story that has been officially deemed to be non-canonical to the primary continuity of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Its events instead occur in another reality within the Multiverse.

Iron Man: I Am Iron Man! is a book based on Iron Man.

Synopsis[]

Tony Stark invents his greatest creation yet—an iron suit that protects him from danger! At first, he keeps it a secret. But when he sees the power of his new suit, Tony must decide: is the world ready for the truth about Iron Man?

Plot[]

Tony Stark introduces himself to the reader as a popular figure, the son of Howard Stark. He explains that Howard founded a plane manufacturer named Stark Industries and left his company and wealth to Tony when he died. Using his wealth, Tony has the idea to build a suit of armor. As he develops the armor, he realizes that the boots are uncomfortable. He goes through several test flights before succeeding.

Stark announces publicly that he is working on a new invention, but Pepper Potts, who knows what the invention is, is worried about it being dangerous. Stark finishes the armor and takes it on a test flight against Potts' wishes. He enjoys flying and passes by a young boy on a Ferris wheel. Stark comes across a burning building with a young girl inside and realizes that he can get to her before the firemen. He saves the young girl, but realizes his suit's power is running low, so he returns home before getting the opportunity to talk to anyone. Stark realizes that a lot of people saw him, but decides not to reveal his identity.

Continuity[]

In the storybook, Stark Industries is a plane company. In this story, the Kidnapping of Tony Stark does not take place. Instead, Tony Stark decides to build his Iron Man armor to help people. His first act of heroism is recuing people from a burning building. At the end of the story, Stark does not reveal that he is Iron Man. Given the nature of the story and how vastly different it is from the MCU continuity, this story is considered non-canonical to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
