Tony Stark gives a presentation at MIT

In 2016, Tony Stark gave a guest lecture at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he demonstrated the students his latest device, B.A.R.F. The demonstration of the technology included Stark's last meeting with his mother and father. Stark then followed with a speech where he introduced the September Foundation grant and announced that every student had been made an equal recipient of it, giving them all the proper funding to move forward with their own inventions and projects.

Tony Stark is confronted by Miriam Sharpe

Noticing that Pepper Potts was scheduled to give a speech to the students, Stark said his final words before stepping off stage where the MIT Liaison then attempted to get some money from Stark Industries for the faculty funding.[2] Meanwhile, Beck, who also attended the demonstration, was utterly disappointed upon seeing his design being used in such an inappropriate way.[3] Stark left the stage and went to get a drink from the water fountain down the hallway. There he was confronted by Miriam Sharpe, who told him she had lost her son due to the Battle of Sokovia. This encounter shook Stark, as he realized how their actions were affecting others and began to reconsider his views.[2]

Visited By Wakandans[]

In 2025, Shuri and Okoye went to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and observed Riri Williams, a student there, speaking with other students. They then made a plan of how they would talk to her, with Shuri saying she would go first as she could blend in with the college students. Shuri found Williams' dorm room and called out to her, Williams was shocked at her appearance there and asked if she was in trouble. Shuri tried to explain that Williams was in danger and Williams said he had to use the bathroom, only for Okoye to appear. Williams got defensive and threatened to throw a speaker at then, when she did, Okoye used her Vibranium Spear to slice it in half. Eventually, despite her having classes that day, they got Williams to give in to accompany them.[4]
