I started out as a child.

After I was grown, I realized being a kid was a lot more fun. Not a little kid, mind you, because then you can't drive yourself to buy cheeseburgers whenever you want. A little older but still a kid. That's when I decided to stay 17.

If you want to travel the world to admire creation and absorb the awesome cultures, I'm your guy. If you want to discuss history, drop me a line. If books are closer to you than some of your family, we might be related.

If I continue trying to work it becomes slow and unproductive, so usually I do chores around the house and yard, or run errands while listening to Status Quo at full volume.

There ARE times when I've written a book as far as I can for the time being and have to let my sub-conscious work things out. I guess if I was only working on one book at a time that would become writer's block.(less)

I've always had a thing for the underdog, for people facing impossible odds but somehow fighting through to victory. Those two scenes were like that, mini-movies of two disconnected scenes. In September of 2014, I felt compelled to write them down, kind of like these guys were screaming at me to let them out of my head!

That's when I found out the scenes were part of a larger narrative. The characters began telling me their story, and in 45 years of writing that has NEVER happened before. (less)

“In those far off days, legendary folk trod the glory road of sharp steel and high adventure.”
William Alan Webb, Sharp Steel: Sharp Steel and High Adventure Volumes 1-3

“If you had to explain why the four major services could never work together,” Fleming said, “it’s because they all speak a different language. For example, if you needed to secure a building, the Navy would turn off the lights and lock the doors. The Air Force would sign a long-term lease or buy it outright. The Army would occupy the building and forbid entry to anyone else. And the Marines would assault the building and defend it to the death with suppressing fire and artillery support.”
William Alan Webb, Standing in the Storm

“Three things the wise man does not do. He does not plow the sky. He does not paint pictures on the water. And he does not argue with a woman.”
William Alan Webb, Standing At The Edge: The Last Brigade, Book 3

“All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.”
