While thinking about this topic, a realization hit. The first thing to do is to ask: Why do I have writer's block?

Sometimes a block happens because the project feels too large. Shrinking the project by writing for a short period of time or setting a low word count can help.

Often, writer's block happens because of fear. If the fear can be identified, it is a bonus. Announcing the fear, verbally, helps it lose its hold and helps me come up with a plan.

January Musings

Hello, and I hope this email finds you well. It has been a while since my last electronic missive. I have been pondering the frequency of these emails. Some authors send out communication once a month, some send them only when they have news, and some send something every other day. If this were my only gig, I could sustain every day and probably irritate many of my readers who have worthwhile thi Read more of this blog post »
