Suspected sockpuppets

[edit]

I challenged Arin (SIG) to declare their PAID status as required by the WMF's terms of use. Shortly afterwards Muhammad Ali Awsath was created, gamed autoconfirmed, and moved the page as Arin had requested. Sock or meat UPE. Cabayi (talk) 16:31, 10 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I'm on board with that interpretation of Arin, but why stop with the Arin account and use a new account to carry out Arin's wishes? Cabayi (talk) 11:57, 15 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Cabayi: Conceivably a case of "coworker #2 picks up after coworker #1 gives up" (perhaps because coworker #1 asked them to, perhaps independently), or somesuch. There's a decent argument that that's a good basis for a sanction of course, but I'm personally not really jumping on it since what's happening here seems pretty "tame" by COI standards – I'd probably feel more strongly if they'd dropped the press kit into the article in the process of trying to get it renamed. --Blablubbs (talk) 14:56, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • I'm blocking the confirmed pair of accounts for the clear failure to observe our rules. I think I'm willing to let Arin off the hook entirely per Blablubbs' comments. Izno (talk) 01:33, 23 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
