- Redirect to USS Doyle C. Barnes. Fails WP:SOLDIER (Ensign awarded a Navy Cross. Having a ship named after him during WWII is not a "significant award or honor") and WP:GNG. No SIGCOV in multiple RS so not notable. Mztourist (talk) 03:38, 24 January 2021 (UTC)
- Merge to USS Doyle C. Barnes. I concur he doesn't meet NBIO/NSOLDIER but there is some mergeable content here (sadly there are no inline refs in the article, but we an probably AGF the content...). The ship can have a section about its non-notable namesake.--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 09:36, 24 January 2021 (UTC)
- Delete when the navy is churning out ships left and right and feels a need to name them after someoone immediately on launch, having one named after you is not a significant award or honor.John Pack Lambert (talk) 16:43, 25 January 2021 (UTC)
- Redirect and Merge to USS Doyle C. Barnes, it's more appropriate to have relevant information about a ship's namesake in the ship's article than a completely separate article. Best, GPL93 (talk) 14:17, 28 January 2021 (UTC)
- Merge selectively into USS Doyle C. Barnes. Does not meet either WP:GNG or WP:NSOLDIER. Onel5969 TT me 17:46, 30 January 2021 (UTC)

- Redirect to USS Doyle C. Barnes. Does not meet WP:SOLDIER and WP:GNG. Lack of significant coverage in multiple reliable sources that are independent of the subject. Ashleyyoursmile! 08:08, 2 February 2021 (UTC)
