Image:Searscentre rendering.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Searscentre rendering.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a free image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ccwaters 20:55, 23 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Lacrosse

[edit]

Hey, we can't use free use images like logos in base page templates. That is why I used the lacrosse head, and it looks good there in my opinion... As you will probably notice, I reverted the changes. As an example: for hockey I used mini rinks... See Template:OPJAHL. DMighton 02:15, 2 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry I did not know those logos could not be used. The lacrosse head looks great! --Yarnalgo 00:27, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

New York Titans

[edit]

FYI, the Titans are an expansion franchise, and are not the same franchise as the Saints. However, I haven't been able to find anything on the web that states that unequivocally. This article [1] talks about the new franchise, including who the owners are. I would expect that if they had purchased the existing Saints franchise, that would have been stated. I'm fairly sure that the absence of such a statement cannot be taken as a reference on Wikipedia. --MrBoo (talk, contribs) 02:52, 6 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Arrrrgh!

[edit]

So I attempt to source the claim that Lavoisier was the Father of Modern Chemistry, and you do it anyway!!! ArrrrgH :D! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.39.174.238 (talkcontribs) 20:56, November 5, 2006 (UTC)

Regarding Image:UVA 06 Lax Champs.jpg's speedy deletion

[edit]

What you said about it allowing commercial use is true. However, CSD I3, as it said in the banner, also allows deletion if the license disallows derivative works, as is true in this case [2]. -- Consumed Crustacean (talk) 07:45, 26 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ok then, my mistake. --Yarnalgo 18:14, 26 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Image on Blood Beast

[edit]

The cover you posted for Blood Beast has been removed, as on the part of Darren Shans website where it was placed he said quite clearly that it was not to be reproduced anywhere else.--ANDY+MCI=Andy Mci 21:25, 22 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:DC Bayhawks.JPG)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:DC Bayhawks.JPG. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. NLL Arenas template

[edit]

Out of curiosity, why would you remove the NLL Arenas template from one of the NLL teams but not the other 12? Why remove it at all? --MrBoo (talk, contribs) 18:47, 13 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, sorry I did not realize that it was on all 13. The template does not belong on the team article because it is about the team not the arena. Check out any MLB, NFL, or NBA team and they will not have the arena/stadium template. --Yarnalgo 20:25, 15 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
