Speedy deletion of RoadRunner iScooters

[edit]

A tag has been placed on RoadRunner iScooters, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. A tag has been placed on RR50SBM Gas Economy Scooter, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be unambiguous advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of RR50SBM Gas Economy Scooter and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Shirik (Questions or Comments?) 22:47, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please familiarize yourself with the notability criteria.

[edit]

See WP:PRODUCT. Wikipedia is not a catalog or directory and it should not have an article for every single scooter ever made. If you don't have third party sources, please refrain from creating the article until you do. Take your time and create articles when they're ready, not just because something exists. Thanks! --Dbratland (talk) 23:52, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated RR50SBM Gas Economy Scooter, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/RR50SBM Gas Economy Scooter. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Shirik (Questions or Comments?) 23:59, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Shirik. Sorry very new at this and don't know how to post messaged really well. I hope I'm putting this in a place where you will see it. I listed the manufacturer's model number and many sources where the specifications can be verified. I saw on the talk page of the scooter that it meets the criteria for a motorcycle project that is going on. I hope I can get this right and contribute. If I do, I will create a similar page for each of the RoadRunner scooter models. These specifications will be the same for many of the Chinese scooter models from various manufacturers.

  • You should post your reasons to keep the article over at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/RR50SBM Gas Economy Scooter. But the fact that the manufactuer has a web site is not a reason to keep the article, nor is the existence of a motorcycling project tag -- that's just administrative. You should look at WP:PRODUCT and Wikipedia:Notability. The reason the article is being considered for deletion is that the subject has no coverage in third party sources. If you can show reliable independent sources, that will win the argument. As far as I know, none of this company's products have ever been written about in newspapers, magazines or books. So if you create more similar articles, they will probably get nominated for deletion too. Again, read Wikipedia:Notability. Wikipedia articles are a reflection of what other sources say, and if the media is ignoring this subject, then Wikipedia will also ignore it. Hope that helps. --Dbratland (talk) 22:04, 11 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Sbm mpg scooter blue.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 00:22, 8 January 2010 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ww2censor (talk) 00:22, 8 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Sbm mpg scooter blue.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 12:12, 9 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
