the macquarie dictionary in australia has the spelling of this architect's name as Erich (or Eric) Mendlesohn - note the inversion of the L and E02:40, 5 March 2007 (UTC) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 202.137.73.41 (talkcontribs) 4 March 2007.

Why is it explicitly mentioned that he was Jewish? It's not relevant, I think. Apparently, he didn't belong to the Ashkenazy community or had a typical Jewish education.
