Elizabeth just received an email about her college roommate assignment, and decides to email her roommate, Lauren, for arrangements like who is going to bring what. Then they soon talk about other things like family, boys and the likes, and this stars a series of emails between the two for the weeks before they finally meet each other in person. This continues on, until one day, these emails are what the girls look forward to after a crappy day.
Roomies is the type of book that one can easily relate to because of the many real life situations presented in the book. I can especially relate to this book because I'm in my last year in high school, and will be attending my first year in college next year. Though I wont be leaving home, this book is still good because of all the things people my age a re experiencing. The anxiety of college, boys, crappy family situations - all these are presented in a very realistic manner in the novel.
Elizabeth, or EB for short, lives in New Jersey and is an only daughter of a gay dad and a mom who is always dating. Sometimes she gets so lonely she wishes for more siblings. Lauren, or Lo, on the other hand, lives in San Francisco, has amazing parents, but too many siblings for her to have a quiet time at home. She fantasizes what it must be like to be just an only child. These two characters couldn't be more different, and they haven't even met yet, but because of each of their circumstances, they grew closer, and soon found comfort in each other.
I really enjoyed reading Roomies I would recommend to anyone, but especially to teens going to college soon!...more

Before reading this book, I didn't think that I would like it as much as I did. To me, this was just an ordinary romance novel that I would go through, but boy was I wrong! This novel made me feel the feels, and that's what great romance novels are made of.
This novel revolves around Kate and Aiden's story - how they both used each other for escapes at first, and how their relationship slowly blossomed more than that to friendship, then eventually to love. The romance in this novel is really great and I love how Jolene Perry wrote it and the whole novel. The pacing was okay, and so is the flow of the story. This book, along with Stir Me Up, just made me addicted and drawn to marine romance novels out there, so if you know any good ones, feel free to recommend them to me! *winks*
There was one thing though. Or actually there are two. The first is that, I don't get the title of this book. It says "The Summer I Found You", but they didn't meet each other in the summer, I think? (Correct me if I'm wrong on this one, please.) The second one is that, I don't get why Kate's diabetes was that big of a deal. I know two people who have diabetes, and it's not really that dramatic.
These are the points that prevent me from giving this book a full five stars, but aside from that , I really liked the story, so I'm giving it four stars! I hope you guys will give this book a chance despite all the negative reviews, because I truly enjoyed reading this one! :)...more

Back in 1998, Jackie Jackie graduated from high school. Now, in 2008, Jackie is expecting to get a promotion, but unluckily, she wasn't granted it.
Back in 1998, Matt also graduated from the same high school. Now, in 2008, Matt has already been divorced for three years.
In 2008, Matt and Jackie meet at their high school reunion once more. They talk, they laugh, then BAM! They get transported back to the past, in 1997 back when they were still seniors. At first they were both terrified, but after a while they both agreed they quite liked it, and agreed not to change a single detail, for the unknown is more terrifying than knowing bad things will come, even though it's a good one. But what happens when Matt fall in love with Jackie? Would Jackie be willing to take a risk, or would she let it all go to waste because of fear?
I really liked the idea of Class of '98, because I think that it's a unique plot for the time travel types. Most time travel doesn't have a contemporary feel to them, and I guess that's the reason why I liked this one so much. The pacing was a bit slow at some points, I thought Matt was a little bit too sentimental, and there were a few moments that just made me dumbfounded, and that's why I was only able to give it 4 stars. But all in all, I really liked it.
Class of '98 is a fun and light read that is recommended for when one is bored or just want to relax. I had fun following Matt and Jackie's story as their friendship, and eventually love, blossomed and I look forward to reading more books by the same author!...more

I read this book mainly because everyone was talking about it, and I wanted to know who Tris was, or who Four was, and stuff like that, but now that I've read it, I can say that I really love this book! After reading this and The Hunger Games, I came to love the Dystopian genre.
I really loved this book! From the faction names, to the initiation, to Tris' and Tobias' romance. I love the action, the mystery, and of course, the romance! I'm really interested in Tris' and Tobias' relationship, and I cant wait to read the next book!
In short, I love everything about this book! Way to go, Veronica Roth!...more

Dirty Red is the second installation to the series Love Me With Lies, which started with The Opportunist, Olivia's story. Before reading this book, I was actually surprised to see that it was about Leah because authors rarely write a second book about the antagonist in the first book. I was really interested though, and based on how much I enjoyed reading the first book, I knew I would like, if not love this one, so I immediately delved into it.
I really enjoyed reading this book. I believe it to be excellent based on several points. First, I was gritting my teeth almost throughout the entire novel to keep myself from screaming out loud and hurling my phone across the room like a crazy woman. That's how awesome Tarryn Fisher is at projecting the evil bitch Leah. Second, the book, like the first, has alternating past and present chapters, allowing readers to delve in to Leah's past. Because of that, I came to understand why Leah is the way she is. There is a reason established for her bitchiness - not that it's enough excuse for it, but at least we can somehow understand it. Third, Leah stayed evil throughout the whole story. There's no unrealistic sudden change of behavior. Well, she might have changed, but just a teeny, tiny bit, which kept the book very realistic. Fourth, the book is entertaining as crap because of Sam. I was smiling at almost every Sam - Leah conversation! This funny side to it made the story not just about revenge or anger, but also about humor. Last, I really admire Leah. Don't get me wrong, I hate her for her bitchiness. But even though she's evil, annoying and cold-hearted at times, she, on a positive note, is determined, smart, a fighter, stands her ground and doesn't back down - characteristics that should be present in every women.
I really enjoyed this, and I'm now even more excited for the third book, Thief, which is Caleb's story! EEEP!! Anyway, if you haven't already, I recommend you to read the first book, The Opportunist, and join the whole world in praising this series! ...more

Allyson and Willem's story started in the first book, Just One Day. A series of fortunate circumstances - serendipity, you might say - bSERIES REVIEW
Allyson and Willem's story started in the first book, Just One Day. A series of fortunate circumstances - serendipity, you might say - brought them together to spend an amazing day in Paris, and within twenty four hours, find love in one another.
To be honest, I was really hesitant to pick this up at first. I didn't really like the sound of Shakespeare in the synopsis. I only picked it up because of the endless gushing of bloggers and readers alike. I still can't say whether it was worth it or not.
On the first book, we got to see Allyson's side of the story. We got to see how she and Willem met, talked, and eventually went on a trip to Paris together. Before meeting Willem, Allyson was the shy goody-two-shoes, but then after just one day, everything changed and she became this whiny teenager that I really hated! It was like she wanted to inflict more pain to herself by thinking about crazy things. Because of this, I wasn't able to enjoy the first book so much. But then about the middle or so of the book, Allyson goes to college and meets Dee, which is the redeeming point. Of course, at first she was still a bitch, but then with the help of Dee, she finally puts herself together and stopped being the whiny teenager that I've come to hate so much. So thank you, Dee, for being that thing that salvaged the book for me, and for being one of the reasons why I continued on to the next book. I seriously couldn't connect with Allyson for the most part. By the time she stopped being a whiny teenager, I was already 65% through, and too late to convince me to like the book.
As I said, Dee was only one of the reasons. The second is that, I thought: Well, I got this far already! I couldn't just go on with another book without knowing Willem's side of the story! I felt a need to understand what really happened, so I dared to read the second book, and hoped that it would at least be a bit better than the first book.
Reading Willem's point of view is definitely a great change because I didn't have to deal with a whiny teenage girl anymore. It was refreshing, and it actually made me thankful for continuing on to the second book, despite not getting what the fuss was about the first book. Willem's POV definitely made things better, and I began to like the story. In Just One Year, we get to see what really happened that night in Paris. Why had he left Lulu, and had he tried to look for her? All things were answered in the second book and more. Willem's book is definitely the better of the two, and I even picked up a few wise words from him here and there. I really like the second book, which make me almost thankful for picking up the first one. Almost.
Overall, I don't get what all the fuss was about the first book, but I finally understood after reading the story in Willem's point of view. I guess it was just the whiny part that I didn't like about the first book, but you've got to admit, it's pretty much a big part of the book. I give the first book 3 stars, and the second book 4.5 stars....more

Before I start my review, I would just like to thank Dianne of Oops I Read Again Tours for giving me the opportunity to read such an amazing book, and for supplying me one of my new favorite books! :)
Before reading the book, I actually didn't think that it would be that great, but I had a feeling that it would be original and one-of-a-kind. I was wrong about the first thing, but I was definitely right about the second thing! It really is one-of-a-kind and original.
Sara is a seeker, while Sam is a finder. Sara and Sam met in New York one day, went on an adventure, talked and fell in love with one another in just a time span of twenty four hours. Opposites in principles and philosophies, Sara and Sam are ideal and perfect for one another.
I loved both characters equally, as they both show different sides of life that make complete sense to me. In my sixteen years of living, I haven't experienced falling in love yet, but if I do, I believe I'd fall for someone like Sam - someone I can talk to about things that actually matter, but not have everything go all serious.
Lisa Mangum has left me in awe and admiration after finishing the book. Can you believe that I just read it in one sitting? This book just summed up all the important point in life within a twenty-four-hour period. I learned a great deal, and I began to have a more positive outlook in life. I still can't believe that this book has less than 4 stars on Goodreads, but I hope that changes soon. This book deserves more, and I'll be sure to be an instrument in promoting it.
Comparable to Pushing the Limits, I fully recommend everyone to read this to be enlightened about life and its ways.

When I read the synopsis of American Girl on Saturn, I got sucked in immediately. I mean, a band in your house?! That's got to be a dream come true! But for the main character, Chloe, it's a total disaster! Not only are they banned from using cellphones and social media sites, all their summer plans are ruined too! With those said, I got really interested with the plot and decided to join the blog tour!
When I started reading the novel, I didn't think I would like it very much, because I felt like the tone was kind of childish for me. But then I thought, it's only the beginning, it might get better. And it did! It got so much better that it got to the point when I couldn't put my phone down because I was so excited with what was happening.
The romance of Chloe and Milo was really cute and interesting, and it made me feel the butterflies Chloe were feeling too! I love how the author wrote the novel. The tone from the middle to the end made the mood really romantic when Chloe and Milo were together. The conversations of the two were really great too, especially the metaphors. Milo made me fall in love by just reading his dialogues, and I loved the quirkiness of Noah and the other band members!
I'm so glad I signed up for this tour and gave it a chance even when I didn't like the first book, because I found a book that I thoroughly enjoyed. It was cute, amusing, interesting, and the plot definitely got better and better as the book progressed.
Those looking for a cute, light read that would make you fall in love should really check this book out. You won't regret picking it up!...more

First of all, I would just like to say that I rarely read any mystery novels, and by rarely, I mean less than five. Six Months Later is different. Even though I already knew that it was a mystery novel, it got me hooked from the synopsis, and that's why I signed up for the book tour.
Chloe was just an average student, but one day, she wakes up and suddenly her whole life has changed. She's a candidate for valedictorian, and has the guy she's been crushing on since Freshmen year. There's just one problem - she doesn't remember how that happened, because she can't remember the past six months.
Six Months Later got me hooked the moment I set my eyes on it, and it didn't disappoint. From the mystery to the romance, the writing and the twists and turns, I loved every bit of it. The whole time, I couldn't put it down, because I just had to know what happened, and I read it in a day!
I'm really impressed, especially for a mystery novel, and I must say, I think I should read more mystery novels from now on!...more

Before I start, I would like to thank Dianne of Oops! I Read a Book Again for including me in the blog tour and for giving me the opportunity to read this amazing book.
I have to admit that before I read this book, I didn't really think much of it because I didn't know the author. The only reason I signed up for the blog tour is because I read a similar book entitled The Heartbreakers Association from Wattpad and loved that book, so I was curious how this one would turn out to be. Would it be similar to The Heartbreakers Association, or would it be worse? What didn't enter my mind was how different this is from that book, and how awesome it turned out to be.
I wouldn't do a recap anymore, for I fear that this would be too long. I'd just go straight to what I thought. At the first few parts, I found that the concept for the club is very similar to that of The Heartbreakers Association, but then as I read on, the story became its own in my opinion, and I started to admire the main character, Maddie.
Unlike the book from Wattpad, Maddie was able to let go of the past and move on, while her best friend Jessica got stuck in that stage. She actually felt guilty for pulling a Play. Also, it helps that Maddie likes kids like I do. Her being friends with Hunter, a young cancer patient, made me love her and the book all the more. She went along with him, and she really showed the characteristics that I like.
Enter Sebastian. At first he really seemed like the typical player, and he even fits their description of a player perfectly. I actually didn't believe the synopsis when it said that he's a good guy. I thought, there must be some hidden agenda here. But no, he's actually honest, a gentleman, and has everything you would want from a guy. And then he met Hunter, and I loved him from then on. He was patient with him, and I just love it when a guy is good with kids!
All in all, the book was really great. There were enough interesting and appropriate twists and turns, the pacing was amazing, and I just loved the plot! Plus, major plus points for being my first 5-star review in a looong loooong time. If you're looking for a New Adult novel that is different from the rest, I strongly suggest you check this one out. You'll be surprised by how much you'll like the book. ...more

To be honest, I didn't want to read this book because I'm not into paranormal books. I'm more of the contemporary romance type of gal. But then bloggers in twitter kept gushing about Daemon, so I felt compelled to read it. Little did I know that after reading the book, I would be one of those girls too.
Katy is the new girl in the small town of West Virginia. Used to being a bystander all her life, she' determined not to be one this year. Then she meets Dee who lives next door, and they were quick to hit it off. They become instant best friends. Enter Daemon Black, Dee's twin and very hot guy-next-door. He's everything the opposite of Dee, kinda like the usual male protagonists in stories - infuriating, arrogant, condescending, overbearing, but most important of all, drool-worthy.
Sounds like a typical novel to you? Nuh-uh, don't be fooled. You're in for a ride, cause this is one of the most original stories I've ever come across with, what with Dee and Daemon being aliens and all. Yes, Daemon is the typical male protagonist, but that doesn't mean he's like the rest. He's caring, loyal, responsible, but only when he wants to. Now I completely understand what fellow bloggers were gushing about. Plus, Katy is a book blogger like us! Major plus points!
The first part was intesting, but it was kind of slow for me, but at the second half of the novel, things got really good, and I was really amazed. I don;t know how to put the words together to describe how much I enjoyed this book, just that it got me out of my almost-three-week long reading slump.
Amusing, entertaining and toe-curling, this is a must read for readers looking for something out of the norm....more
