Sumeria's Sons #6

Releasing Chaos

Rate this book
Everything Tristan, Ushna, and Brian have fought for comes down to the moment they face Inanna and Marduk. Before then, Ushna must embrace his destiny and be transformed by Tiamat. But he returns with a fractured mind and will need the help of the new firebird or he'll be lost to the insanity of a primordial God. If he's lost, so is the balance Brian and Tristan sorely need.

Tristan has vowed to care for his ex-Flame, Theo Sullivan, who is doomed to forget more and more with each use of his new ability. When not dealing with his stubborn ex, Tristan must free the warriors stolen by the government and devise a trap for Inanna.

And that's only the start of the challenges, and everything that can still go wrong.

Lexi has always been an avid reader and at a young age started reading (secretly) her mother’s romances (the ones she was told not to touch). She was the only teenager she knew of who would be grounded from reading. Later, with a pencil and a note book, she wrote her own stories and shared them with friends because she loved to see their reactions. A Texas transplant, Lexi now kicks her boots up in the Midwest with her Yankee husband and her 80 pound puppies named after vacuum cleaners.

Reread April 2022

Reread November 2020

Every time I've reread this series, I've stopped before rereading this one. Why? Because there's a character who makes the ultimate sacrifice for his family, and it breaks my heart what he goes through. My anxiety couldn't take it. But this time, I was determined to read it and powered through. I'm glad I did. I had forgotten a lot of what happened with the final battle. I absolutely love this series. It's romantic, fun and engaging. A little birdy told me she's working on a book for that one character who broke my heart. I'll be on that in a flash.

Originally read October 2017

This is it. This is the moment all have been waiting for….the final war. The Blood Trinity is here. Will Inanna be defeated and Tiamat’s children freed from Marduk? Will Tristan, Brian and Ushna come out unscathed? It’s time for the good guys to win and the reign of terror to end.

There is no way I can do a review that will do justice to this series. I have loved every minute of it. It’s based around Sumerian mythology. There’s lycans, gods and goddesses, magic, mythological creatures and prophecies, battles, evil and romance. Some of the sex scenes are hot but some are loving and beautiful and you can just feel the deep love between them. I laughed. I cried, sometimes sobbing. I also raged with the characters and rejoiced in their happiness. I was totally invested in them. They became real.

From the beginning where Tristan breaks from his Twin Flame to his bond with Ushna..the birth of their children to their reunion with Brian…the rescues, the betrayals, the heartache, the love…all of it leads up to this…THE FINALE.

If you are a lover of MMM fantasy and or mythology, I highly recommend this series.
“I had witnessed unparalleled loyalty, sacrifice, forgiveness, redemption, second chances, loss, bonds of friendship that were just as strong as familial bonds, and so much love. Whatever else came our way, I was positive of one fact; my life was blessed beyond compare.”~ King Tristan Ksathra Janick

This book was everything I wanted. And such a fabulous end to the series.

It had a great epilogue. And in the end I found I even grew to like the characters I thought I never would.

This has been a very fun series to read. Fantasy with every paranormal creature one could imagine.
It is quite a kitchen sink series. Very fast paced.
Everything you can imagine exists here, from male pregnancy, Gods, dragons, wolf-shifters, prophecies, seers, kings, soul-mates, witches/mages...
It's a lot, I won't deny. I'm sure some would find it a bit all over the place but personally I was highly entertained. And thank god there is a very satisfying HEA to finish it off.
Highly recommend for fans of fantasy/paranormal. And anyone wanting a well done MMM relationship would enjoy this as well. Also those who are squeamish about m-preg, this is by far one of the best interpretation of that particular fictional phenomena.

The sixth and final volume of the epic ‘Sumeria’s Sons’ series is truly a grand finale for Tristan, Ushna, and Brian, trying to survive in this paranormal world that successfully blends Sumerian legends and werewolf lore into the fascinating tapestry of a unique world. All three men have suffered, gained new abilities, and fundamentally changed since the first book. Their history has been fully revealed, and their relationship has been redefined. They finally get to confront the gods Inanna and Marduk, and they know the battle will not be easy. The result is an action-packed, super suspenseful, and surprising story full of cunning plans, clever diversions, and desperate deeds. ‘Releasing Chaos’ has more than one twist and turn, shifting alliances around every corner, and is as intense as I expected. Truly impressive!

This was an amazing series!!! You name it this book had in there, one of the few series I never got tired of reading books back to back. The story was very detailed, a lot power struggles and underhandedness between the different Gods! The one thing that was solid was the love ❤️❤️❤️ between Tristan, Ushna and Brian. What was also unusual about this series was the multiple mini stories 👏🏻 with some of the other characters as well, I just loved this book!! 🥰

*I was given this ARC in exchange for an honest review, so here it is.

I can’t believe is the end of this series. Some of us have been with it from the very beginning, through a change in publishing houses and the re-release of the earlier books. But all good things must come to an end, and this particular end in my opinion is the best possible one. This is a much longer book than all the previous ones, which makes sense giving all the events that occur in it, the different storylines and multiples POV that we are shown.

The book starts practically from where Dragon’s eye left off, with Nathan’s imprisonment. I think practically all of us readers got a bit confused at the end of Dragon’s eye and the sudden switch in Nathan’s behavior and alliances. In this book we get much more insight in the situation, what sparked Nathan’s “betrayal” and what his purpose is in doing all the things he is doing, and at the end we get a resolution that secretly (or not so secretly in my case) makes more much sense in terms of Nathan’s loyalty to Tristan.

Then we get to Ushna’s transformation, which is different from Tristan and Brian’s, he is to be modeled after Tiamat’s consort Abzu, which makes perfect sense because everyone need a balance and his is to be theirs, however, he comes back with some issues, and this is where the recently returned Theodore Sullivan enters the picture.

As shown in the previous book, Theo has returned also transformed as a child of the Goddess Tiamat and under the care of Tristan with the hopes of redeeming himself from his past. I personally love the form in which he returned, it’s very apropos for the new him, what he wants to accomplish with this new opportunity at life and the regret that we saw in his last actions when trying to help Tristan. Besides, who doesn’t love a beautiful creature of myth that can heal with a touch, which he does to Ushna as soon as he come backs all funky from his stay with Tiamat. I love that he gets his own HEA, and with someone I really didn’t see coming at all, but that looking back it makes sense, at least to me, because of this person's relationship with Theo’s pups.

We see much more of Brian’s POV in this books, which we didn’t get in the last because he obviously came in at the very end. He is a bit of a contradiction to me, sometimes very silly with all the selfies, and sometimes a bit separated from everything and everyone; but it kind of makes sense giving all that he’s been through during all his reincarnations, and he is to be Tiamat’s Sword, so it stands to reason that he’d be a bit more murderous than Ushna and Tristan.

I can't mention all the characters that get more air time because I'd be here forever, but Stanley Kendall is another one from which we get much more info than in previous books, there's more Gregory and Juan (and some interesting additions), Randy is back and thankfully recovering, we even get Naughty Corleone and Dancing Socks (love to read how that one came to happen).

Also, and this, I think, is my favorite part, we got to see much more of Justus, Neoma and Dawn. I sincerely adore these characters, they are a breath of fresh air and their antics are hilarious. I nearly cried for them and all that they went through in this book, but they are happier for it, and hopefully we’ll get to see so much more of them in the Summeria’s Sons series that the author said she has planned for the future.

I love that we get to see so much in this book, all the preparations for the fight with Inana, the first steps taken in defeating the God Marduk and freeing Tiamat’s offspring, all the different races of mythical creatures and their struggles(the research for this series had to be of astronomical proportions really!), and the return of magic to the world and how the humans are dealing with that. Everyone gets what they deserve in my opinion, be it their happy ending or their just dessert. Moreover, I really liked that we see what comes after. This is a particular pet peeve of mine, in books where the characters finally get together or defeat the bad guy and that’s it, we don’t get to see the consequences, for me the devil is in the details, so kudos to Lexi for really getting into the aftermath of the battle and showing all the repercussions that it left.

There are some inconsistencies overall in the book with the previous ones, and it could have used some more proofreading, but that didn’t detract from my enjoyment of it. This was a highly highly anticipated read for me and it did not disappoint at all, it managed to evoke so many feelings, I was happy, I was sad, I was scared, I was tickled, I was enraged. This, I think is one of the most important things in any book, its capacity of making the reader feel what the characters are feeling, be with them, suffer with them, be happy with them. Lexi managed that and so much more.

I cannot wait to read further books set in this universe, and I’m (not so) patiently waiting for the children’s stories. So definitely a recommended book, and really, a recommended series if you haven’t read it yet.

Releasing Chaos is the last book in the Sumeria's Son's series by Lexi Ander.
Tristan, Ushna and Brian have been crowned Kings and are settling down in their new roles.

The storie is a beautiful mix of urban fantasy, mythologie and magic in a modern world.
How Sumerian religion and Mythology has been interwoven in Releasing Chaos and Sumeria's Son's as a whole is magnificent.
The storie picks up at when Ushna keeps his promise towards Tiamat and follows her into her realm.Tiamat had assured Ushna to make him what he should have been if Inanna hadn't interfered.
Tiamat wasn't the one though giving him the blood for this change, that would be Abzu. As Tiamat needed a balance against her own power, so would Tristan and Brian.
Lexi also tell's the story of Nathan's treason and reason of ending up being together with Daniel.
What he turn's out to be , I have no words to describe the feelings I went through when reading his story. I went from goosebumps to sniffles and at last happiness.
Magic, magic is not being forgotten, Devling, Nacht and Jory. Not forgetting Juan and Gregori are taking their part in the story as well. We finally get to read just how powerfull Gregori is and that his circle will at least need to have , ah no, no spoilers. Sorry,
Seriously though Gregori deserves his own story!
If you think that would sum up the story think again, we have more characters with their own story.
We have Stanley Kendall, who went through his own challenges and is still struggling. He is drawn to a person he thinks is his flame, but this person has been some one else's flame. So how can that be, why are his feelings so strong ?
I could list all other character's and their stories, but in the end you are better off reading the story than my review.
If you are looking for action packed, Releasign Chaos has that in abundance. Looking for intrigue? Stop and read. Romance perhaps, same answer.
I find Lexi Ander managed to write a good story with, and that must have been difficult enough, a good balance in between the separate story plots.
Releasing Chaos is the last book in the Sumeria's Son's series, I do hope however it will not be the end of stories set in this world. I definitely look forward to Randy and Justus some time in the future.

A 5* rating from me.

I was given this ARC in exchange for an honest review, so I will endeavour to do that.

It has been a long journey to get to the end of this series, although the time has flown by with the fast pace of the books. Releasing Chaos is different only in length. Compared to book one, this is gigantic. I didn't feel the length though and really appreciated the fact it wasn't split into more books. At first, I wasn't sure about all the points of view, but they never wavered from the designated speaker and were essential to getting the whole story. In the end I appreciated learning more about all the characters.

Everyone gets their just desserts and happy endings and new beginnings abound. The journey to get there wasn't easy and I loved that there were twists and strife rather than everything being easy. The battles were fierce and so detailed I felt like I was watching it in a movie.

I felt the love and bond between all the characters and hurt when they hurt. There are some relationships that may seem odd to the average human but made sense to the lycans.

The series as a whole could have used a better proofreader, though. It sometimes took me out of the story when I had to decipher a sentence, but my love of the characters, mythology, and settings kept me reading on.

I eagerly look forward to reading the tales of the children and also hope there are more books in the magi series. I'm not ready to relinquish this world!

This has been an epic journey and I was thankful that the author gave us good summary info at the beginning so we didn't feel lost, as sometimes the numerous names would get confusing.

I really felt pulled into Tristan's story and the complex world created was amazing.

Hopefully we might get a next-gen book to follow-up on the children like Justus and Atar.

I just finished reading Releasing Chaos I wanted to read it slow and get the full impact of the story. I hope everyone thinks what I think it was the best book I have ever read. I felt like I was on a roller coaster at full speed. I cried, I cheered, I booed at the bad guys and cheered the good guys. I felt a whole range of emotions in this story. I was so sad when it ended then I was exhausted, and them I was renewed that they won in the end. Every person in this story had something to say and I loved it from their viewpoint it gave me incite into how they felt, how they thought, how they loved and what they wanted out of life. I know Lexi put her whole heart into this book I can tell and I can't wait for some the other stories she will write in this some world and the people that helped Tristan, Ushna and Brian save there way of life. If you want an book that takes you to another world and another way of life this is a book for you. But I would suggest you start with the first book in the series and go from there. Its a series and should be read in order. Their are some short stories too that are in between the other longer books and are just as good. These books are fantastic and I personally will be reading them again.

After five novels and several short story interludes, Tristan’s journey is finally coming to an end. Battles will be fought, lives will be lost, and not even the gods can predict what the final outcome will be. The previous stories have led up to this final and ultimate battle, and now it is time to sit back and see just what becomes of Lycans and their Kings.

Firstly, if you are not caught up with this series this is by far and away not the place to start. This book is the culmination of everything leading up to this battle, and without all the backstory and world building you are going to be hopelessly lost.

Secondly, another reviewer was originally slated to do this review but ended up having to trade it to me because they felt they couldn’t finish it in a timely manner. I’m only saying this because, while I had fully intended to read this book, I was hoping to go back and do a full reread of the series beforehand. Because I was asked to do the review (and I didn’t think it was fair to the author for them to have to wait a month for this to publish) I was unable to do that. As a result…I was a bit foggy on a lot of the subplots in this story. It probably had a not so small effect on my ability to navigate the large amount of world-building subplots that fill this book has. My final rating probably reflects that difficulty. So, if you haven’t read this series recently, my suggestion is you go back and at least do the last couple of books before heading into this one.

As to the actual book itself…

I have been really looking forward to the conclusion of this series for a while now. This was one of those stories that I picked up because it sounded unique, and I have enjoyed getting to know these characters over the course of the series. Both the characters and the plot has evolved so much from that first book, Twin Flames, and it has been one hell of ride.

My favorite romance part of this book wasn’t the MCs (Tristan, Ushna, and Brian), but was actually the subplot revolving around Stan and Theo. Most of the relationship stuff has been figured out with our main three guys, but I just really loved the connection and romance between Theo and Stan. They were not my favorite characters in previous books, but here they really come alive. Would have loved to have some kind of short story based off of what happens with them.

I will say, though, that as much as I enjoyed seeing how all these stories came to a close…I was not a huge fan of the multiple person pov narrations. Mostly because they were almost all in 1st person and there just wasn’t enough variation in tone and feeling to really differentiate them. I’m also not sure that they were all absolutely necessary for this story. For a story, maybe. Just not this one.

And that is by far my biggest issue with this book. There are too many subplots and sideplots, and characters that are only in there for a scene or two. Too many gods to keep track of (even with the glossary up front). To many factions. By about 1/3 of the way thru the book it was all becoming white noise in the back of my head. I can’t help but come away feeling that this story was at least two books shoved into one. Or maybe one book and several shorter stories. There were a couple of these subplots that I think wouldn’t have negatively affected this story if they were left out. And as much as I like the wrap up of several of the character arcs…I don’t think they were necessary here. I didn’t need everything wrapped up in bows. A little ambiguity would have been fine, or even good. The last 50 or so pages (in the pdf I was given, anyways) were just filler. I get this is the last book in the series, but it got a bit tedious at times having to read thru all these various subplots all which only have a line or two payoff at the climax of the book. Especially when reading those scenes required you to try and remember all the various relationships and factions and sides all these people were on and how that connected to the larger picture. It took me nearly 10 days to read this book. That is a long time for me. But I could only read it in five-six chapter bites because there was just so much stuff I had to try and remember that I was wishing that this book came with a flowchart and maybe a PowerPoint presentation.

All of that pretty much meant that I didn’t enjoy this book nearly as much as I wanted to. And I did want to.

There were points that I loved though. Stan and Theo, like I stated before, were super great. The final battle was pretty freaking epic. While all the stuff happening around them was at time frustratingly complex, I really liked finally seeing Tristan, Ushna, and Brain finally get their HEA. And I may not have been all to thrilled with Nathan–Tristan’s brother–at the start of this book, but I will admit that the ending more than made up for it.

Overall it was a good story, and if you are a fan of the series you are most definitely going to want to read this. I will say however that it is not without its flaws, and that proper preparation before reading is a must.

Re-Read: April 2020

Loved this book just as much on the re-reading.

Rating: 4.5 stars

I cannot remember when I have enjoyed a series as much as I enjoyed this one. I have read all six books back to back and have enjoyed everyone. This one is no exception. I loved that this book is written from multiple points of view. We don't just get to see Tristan, Ushna and Brian's point of view. We get to see Nathans, Gregori & Stan's as well.

Although, there was a bit at the end that I personally would have left out, I was very satisfied with how it all wrapped up. There were parts to the story that brought tears to my eyes. I cannot recommend this book enough. I would definitely read this series in order. This is not a stand-alone book by any means.

Review can be read at It's About The Book

For Tristan, Ushna, and Brian everything seems to happen at once. They’ve been building up to a showdown with the Gods, and they’re on the eve of battle. Of course that eve is pretty darn busy. Also, Tristan, Ushna, and Brian aren’t battling the Gods alone. They’ve got the help of some of the other Gods and a bunch of their friends. There’s also questions about who is and who isn’t an enemy. Everyone seems to have their own agenda. Even among Tristan, Brian and Ushna. These guys have been fated to be together for millennia yet they still can’t escape macho posturing amongst themselves. Then there are other people whose stories are bittersweet and we finally get to understand slights from long ago. Theo really isn’t the monolithic evil he appeared to be for so long. As busy as everyone is, the battle with the Gods is going to happen and everything boils down to a need for trust.

Okay, this book was a little chaotic. And yeah, that’s a cool play on words and all, but it did feel that way. So much happened in this book. Like really so much. I feel I need an excess of modifiers and exclamation points to stress how much happened in this book. And this is the heart of the problem I always seem to have with the endings of series: the wonderful slow build up of the whole series has to be dealt with. All the loose ends need to be tied off and all the mysteries need to be solved. All at once. I always feel a little robbed.

Quite a bit of this book was about Theo and Nathan. This makes sense as they’ve done so much to hurt Tristan during this lifetime in particular. Reading Nathan’s POV was a little jarring for me. We had so much hurt from Tristan because of Nathan then we’re suddenly with Nathan and Daniel Sullivan?!?! This was a fascinating reminder of the fact that not everything is about Tristan, or even about Tristan, Ushna, and Brian. Secondary characters all imagine themselves the heroes of their own stories, and here we got to see some of that. I’m still not much of a Nathan fan, though. His bad side was just too convincing.

Now, after all this time it’s over. Tristan, Ushna, and Brian are finally together, Marduk and Inanna got pwned, and it’s time to heal. There is finally normalcy. Well, as normal as it can get for a group of people who underwent the changes that took place over the course of this series. There were a lot of changes! And I’m sad it’s all over. This book was good even if I thought it felt a bit too overstuffed. This series was fun, and I’m glad I read it.

Amazing!

Releasing Chaos by Lexi Ander is the last volume of her wonderful Sumeria’s Sons series, which unravels the destiny of lycans Tristan, Ushna and Brian.
The whole series is a tale that many characters - good, bad and something in between - get to tell and it becomes a wonderful story of undying love, relentless hate, utter betrayal, but also so much friendship, camaraderie, honor, loyalty, sacrifice and tenderness.
Deeply steeped in the glorious mythology of one of the most important civilizations in the history of mankind, Sumeria’s Sons is not your average m/m/m love story with many sequels. It’s different in all the best ways, full of adventure, supernatural beings who end up causing or falling in nightmarish situations, steamy passion, legendary courage and totally awesome.
Releasing Chaos is the longest book of the series and it narrates - in the exquisite writing style of its author - the second chances, endings and brand new beginnings of the numerous people and Gods we already know from the previous books.
I’d hate to let any spoilers slip out, but this I will tell you - Tristan has been right all along in his boundless compassion. He is by far my super favorite person ever, although, at this point, many of the characters (the good guys, the too sweet for words children, and even the beasts, with Corleone as the supreme badass ever) have all become real and dear friends to me and I have felt lots of deep emotions reading about their lives so far, and just when I thought that the whole thing was going to end in a certain way, I got the biggest and best surprise ever.
My advice, if you are new to the series, is to start from Twin Flames and work your way up to Releasing Chaos. Don’t miss the short novels in between of the main volumes. They’re like little gems.
Lexi Ander is one of the greatest m/m love writer and I highly recommend reading anything she writes. She is that good.

I was given a copy of this book (who am I kidding, I practically begged the author!) in exchange for an honest review.

The time has come to prove the prophecy correct....but there's so many twists and surprises for the cast of characters I've been to love (or in cases like Daniel, hate) add if they were real people. Nathan and the betrayal you see in the very beginning almost killed me. Theo is turning to a very likeable guy between true remorse over his past, despite the fact that Inanna made him a victim as well, and as his true Flame Bond with Stan kicks in.

Ushna becoming the Heart of Tiamet I expected but the fact that it meant he was connected more to her consort/ father of all the Gods was a plot twist I didn't see coming, nor the fact he could then communicate with the serpentesque guardians of the Sanctuary telepathically.

Ace, Juan, Jonas, Gregori..... I hope we see books of their future and the results of their traveling. Hopefully the circle will expand and Gregori's magic will be balanced.

The battle was as epic as I could've hoped and even there twists and surprises abounded. Especially after Daniel abducted Justus and Brian (the pup not the dragon) and Stan must rescue them with the help of Theo and the Ophidian assassin -who's identity really floored me.

Tristan's decree after the battle was true, fair and just. I'm not sure I wouldn't have wanted some retribution but he refrained.
Then to reveal themselves to the human world and take on the POTUS? Lots of cojones on their part.

The book ended and most of the threads are all tied up......except the ones for Gregori with his circle and what comes next for the Princes Ramsey and Brian, the future hero Atar, and of course our heroes. But those are futures for another time, perhaps another series.

“You need to see I’m not the same as you two. You [Brian] and Tristan will walk out the door and bear the brunt of the world, take on burdens, level strife. But here, with me, I will unpack those burdens and release you from the stress so you can go back out and do it all over again. I am strong enough to be the balance for both of you. You never have to worry about falling because I will catch you.” –Ushna

I am so happy that this book lived up to the hype that I had built up for it! Lexi Ander does a phenomenal job bringing this series to a close while also opening it up for potential spin-offs in the future. (Hint: please please please write more! I need Stan, Gregori, and Justus/Randy to get their own books! Not to mention the triplets once they’re older!)

There is so much going on in this final book! When we last left these characters they were on the brink of war with the goddess, Inanna. This book picks up right where book 5 left off. Tristan is deciding Nathan’s fate after his betrayal, Ushna is preparing to undergo his own transformation by Tiamat, and Brian is learning how to be a father and mate while taking a ridiculous amount of selfies. (Seriously…it’s a lot of selfies and it’s freaking adorable as hell!!) Despite all the plotlines and events going on in this book, it never pushes its character development to the side and is still very much character-driven. These characters are still fleshed out and complex as they continue to grow, learn new things about themselves, and deal with the challenges presented to them. In fact, this book has even more POVs than the last one and features chapters with narration from all the main characters and even some side characters. Instead of being choppy and incoherent, these multiple POVs allow the reader to intimately get to know all the characters and come to understand their strengths, fears, and insecurities. Even some of their mind-blowing secrets!

Something I really loved was the ending and the fact that after the “big battle” the book doesn’t just end with an epilogue. There are still things that need to be done and said before the end and Lexi Ander handled this wonderfully.

With the introduction of beautiful new relationships, the strengthening of existing bonds, and some startling revelations, this book certainly packs a punch. Prepare to be entertained, shocked, and perhaps shed a few tears in this brilliant finale to the Sumeria’s Sons series!

This is a huge, highly imaginative series. I've been reading this series since I very first started with M/M back in 2012, and it's sad to see it come to an end.

That being said, I also think it was just too big. Too many characters, too many metamorphoses, too many gods, too many changing allegiances . . . too many plot threads. And in this last book, too many characters given 1st person POV sections.

The end of the war between the chosen triad (Tristan, Ushna, and Brian) and their war against the evil gods and their supernatural slaves. This is a long and intense book. So many revealing things for secondary characters. Like the truth of Theo's true Twin Flame. Some new romances that may possibly lead into a spinoff stand alone stories in the future. I am excited for the Magi book that is too come and am curious how it will turn out. This had a satisfying end that tied up most of the story.

I received a free copy of Releasing Chaos from the author Lexi Ander for an honest review.

I got to say, that I have been looking forward to this book for a long time. If I could give this 100 stars I very much would, I loved it that much, and cried when it ended because I was sad that it was over.

The little snippets that Lexi would give us only made me want more and this book did not disappoint.

For spelling and grammar, I didn't notice anything that was an issue but I was too busy not putting it down at all, so I didn't really notice much of anything but the story.

It was awesome and amazing and so much action that I can't even put it all into words how great it was. I have read all the other Sumeria's Sons books and this was a great end to this part of the series. More will be coming to us as part of a spin off(s) from the original and I have to say that I can't wait for them. Some of the twists that had showed up in this story just completely wowed me. I won't spoil anything or go into details but the nameless, Theo, Stan, and Nathaniel, just wow! Amazing! It has romance, action, danger, thrills for the reader and for the characters. I will give you the warning that this story is much larger than the others so when you do purchase it, read it on a day that you have don't have much else going on, it was that hard for me to put it down, I didn't want to do anything else but read this story lol.

A final note: Lexi's writing has always made me fall into the story. I always feel that I am transported to that world and this story was no different.

I'm both happy with the conclusion of this story and also wishing certain things were still going on. This book does tie up a lot of the loose ends from the series. I'm happy that our trio is all together and can now attempt to happily live their lives together. Still I want more Gregory and I do believe Lexi Ander has some plans to write more of his story. So fingers crossed. ;)

DO NOT START THIS SERIES IF YOU EXPECT CLOSURE The final book in this series, for over 7+ years, ends on a hard cliffhanger with the death of a beloved character followed by a fade to black. Deducted one star due to this. I felt like giving every book in the series 1 star, but I didn't. Nor did I lower any of the following books from my original rating.

I do not typically do reviews for books I give 4 stars, because +/- 1 star still puts it in "probably worth reading". I am going to list some thoughts on the series for future reference.

1st and foremost, I feel books 1 and 2 should have been combined into 1 book. Nearly all of my issues with book one would have been fixed if they were combined. It made so much more sense after finishing book 2. Plus, I think combined they would not have been longer than books 5 or 6. So... If you were not thrilled with book one, I highly suggest reading book 2 before deciding on giving up on the series. If 2 had not already been out, I might not have continued. I'm really glad to have read this entire series.

2nd, Unless you have a great memory, I highly suggest you read these back to back. The entire series is out. I felt it got mostly stronger as it went along.
(* Even reading back to back, due to the sheer number of characters plus characters with similarly spelled names, I was glad I was reading on my Kindle. It was easy to run a search for a name to be reminded of who they were etc...

3rd,I thought the progressions for the characters and the overall plot moved well. It never felt repetitive except where it should, like when reminding the reader what has happened previously.

4th, I really liked the concept of shifter cowboys.

5th,the world building was extremely strong.

6th, those that do not typically like m/m/m or mpreg, please consider giving this series a chance. It is not the main focus until really late in the series, and it is done really well. FYI, for me personally, I can take or leave either one. Not something I look for neither am I really opposed to it.

7th, I did think the proofing / editing seemed to be not as strong. I noticed my flow being disrupted more often, but never enough to hamper the enjoyment.

8th, I felt the final book wrapped up all major things and most minor things very well. It definitely ended on a HEA for our m/c's and most supporting characters too.

9th, the only thing that gave me pause in the whole series was the brother's storyline, especially in the last book. It wasn't poorly written or necessarily out of character, but I did think his twist could have been better supported or explained. To me, It did feel more conjured for the plot than organic, if that makes sense.

This was a really good series. That definitely should be read in order, and as mentioned earlier probably back to back. The plot never gets stale or meanders inappropriately. All central things are moved along well and tied up by the end. Well worth the read if you like shifters, mythology, royalty, epic adventures etc...

Holy gods of books! This book was big. But then I like big books and I cannot lie!
Getting serious now. Releasing Chaos is the last book in the Sumeria’s Sons series. It’s a series I followed since the beginning and before it was re-released by Less than Three Press. I’m sure glad the series got finished.

In this last book everything comes together and it gets a bit messy and complicated, but it all works out in the end.

Releasing Chaos picks up almost directly from where it left off in the previous book. With Nathan’s imprisonment and let me tell you, that is only the beginning. Unlike the other books, a lot of characters get screen time or rather page time in this book. That was one of the downsides for me. While I understand the reason for it, it made the book jumpy and all over the place. At the same time, I also thought it was needed to bring this story to and end. So I’m fence sitting on this one.

The plot works towards the big climax that was coming from the beginning of the series, and I thought that was well done. What liked very much is that the story didn’t just stop there with the happy ending. The heroes won the day, but we get a look in in their happily ever after. Not many books do this as it’s not something that is easily written. Either you overwork it or it just gets cheesy. In the case of Releasing Chaos, I thought it was done right.

The book is not without its faults. There are some minor inconsistencies and I think it could have done with a last read-through, but to be honest, in the scheme of this book, it didn’t bother me as much as it does with other books.

The writing was good and strong and flowing. Not overly flowery or over explanatory. So should you read Releasing Chaos? Well, that depends on if you liked the previous books, because you can’t read this one without it. If you did then hell yeah, go pick it up!

Tristan, Ushna, and Brian are back, along with the whole gang. They are winding up for the final showdown with gods and goddesses. Ushna is the last one to get the gift of the goddess, and it is different for him, just because he was alive when it happened. They have a lot on their plates, what with forming new alliances, new friendships, waging war, and freeing lycans who have been stolen from them.
I had this whole review written, but somehow x'd out of it and it didn't save. Needless to say, it was witty, erudite, insightful. I'm sorry that none of you will get to experience it, since such a masterpiece can only be crafted once. Anyway, I will try to capture the gist of my original review: I read the previous books in the series at least 4 years ago, and really enjoyed them, to the point where I actually read several of them back to back, which is something that I don't generally do. However, to start this one, I flailed. A lot. I flailed trying to remember what happened in the previous books, I flailed trying to remember who everyone was, I just flailed. I'm sure that my flailing was helped by the fact that there were several different POV from several different characters, but eventually I did settle in and got into the story. Which was long. Very long. Super, dooper long. I'm pretty sure that some of the story could have been cut without feeling like something was missing. I liked the solidity of Brian, Ushna, and Tristan. They were just there for each other, and for their people. I enjoyed the friendships, both new and old, and how everyone related to one another. All in all, a satisfying (if lengthy) conclusion to a really good series.

This whole series deserves every star there is🤩🤩🤩

I don't understand how this is not getting much attention and love🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Just read it - I did so in week. Considering it's 6 books (the last 2 having close to 400 and over 400 pages) I barely slept but I couldn't put it away.

The first 3 books feel more like a big one - I can't imagine I would have to wait for them to be released😬

As it's typical for Lexi there is no way she would write a simple story with an uncomplicated world building but here it was so on point and instead of another boring verewolf story we got a completely altered humankind history. So detailed without being suffocated with infodumping.

There is simply everything in this book - love, hate, happiness, suffering, betrayal and loyalty beyond grave, lovers to enemies and enemies to lovers, friends to family and allies found in strangest places. There is so much I can even forgive there is less and less smut as the story progresses (I'm not even sure there is any smut in the last book and I'm surprisingly ok with that - I can't believe myself for saying that😅).

The only thing that's lacking is more of the epilogue. I wish we'd get more of some side characters' story (like Gregory, Jory, Corey - I really wanted to see him confronting his flame, same for Nathan - is there some HEA for him?,etc.). Please Lexi give us some spin-offs 🙏 🙏😻

Once again Lexi brought us a world full of deep emotions, fantastical beings, plots, subplots, twists, redemption, love lost, found, an HEA but enough of a spin to set up the next series.
The single thing I love most about, not just this series but all of this authors books, is the in depth story she gives us, this isn't just some Sunday, raining day read. You can get so lost in her world, you forget what time in it is, everything around you.

With book six, finding out what happens with Tristan, Ushna and Brian. For me, I've always had my eye on Brian. So it was great to get that resolved. Can they make it work? What really happened to Nathan? Is Theo really changed? reborn? So many questions answered. and so beautifully done.

I'm glad to read the end of this series. It was a enjoyable and fun ride. I wasn't real thrilled with the last two books as they moved to include everyone's perspective instead of just Tristan, Ushna, and Brian's. While I enjoyed the series I did feel like the resolution to Marduk and Inanna felt a little rushed and too easy. I also felt this book tried to too much packing in too many of the side character's personal stories. Some of them would have be better as side stories perhaps, but that felt cramped into this last book. I enjoyed this series a great deal even the end even if it was rather unexpected.

Fantastic conclusion to a fantastic series

I can't tell you how much I have loved every single book in this series. I have reread it in its entirety at least 3 times. What a fantastic world you created. I still want more. What happened to Nathan in those 3 years? What will happen with Atar? What is the connection between Atar and Corey? I just have to thank you for this series. It took me days after reading this final one to even read anything outside of this world. It absolutely consumed me.
