Question

Hi,

What happens if an AN/I discussion was archived before any resolution was reached? I had posted it to closure requests Special:Diff/1245456374, but it seems the discussion was archived by the bot because the discussion had died out (which was why I made the closure request). Will the closure request still get handled if the topic has been archived?

Thanks, Brocade River Poems (She/They) 00:48, 18 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I have no idea but probably not.--Bbb23 (talk) 00:58, 18 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, okay! Sorry for bothering you. Brocade River Poems (She/They) 01:04, 18 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Bbb23, if you find the time could I ask you to take a look at the edits of JenniferUS? Their edits give me a POV/whitewashing feeling, but I'm not sure if I'm reading too much into it, so I'd like a second opinion. Thanks Nobody (talk) 14:42, 18 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

They are obviously the same person as ICASWashingtonDC, who was, unfortunately, soft-blocked by another administrator. I've left a COI notice on Jennifer's Talk page, which means, as far as I'm concerned, they have to comply with the procedures delineated in the notice and they cannot edit the article directly. I've also put the article on my watchlist in case they continue disruptively editing the article.--Bbb23 (talk) 14:53, 18 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Another question from a different user

Since I have gotten a heavy amount of criticism from three different administrators (including you) about my recent actions; I would like to ask the question of; what should I be doing?

What kind of stuff do you think I should be doing with 3 months (technically about 10 months if you count my IP edits which go back to Nov 2023) experience?

Because it is kind of disheartening getting a bunch of criticism from you, Ponyo, and Liz; on top of a recent discovery that I had apparently been accused of sockpuppetry and I didn鈥檛 even know it for three months; plus canvassing accusations on Commons;

so can you please summarize what I am doing wrong; how I can fix it; and what I should be doing? Thank you. Hurricane Clyde 馃寑my talk page! 15:41, 18 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

When you answer me; either answer back on my talk page or ping me here. Thank you. Hurricane Clyde 馃寑my talk page! 15:45, 18 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Hurricane Clyde: Spend less time in project space, particularly SPI. Focus on content and improving articles or creating articles. Small thing: don't ask users to ping you on their Talk page when replying. It's your job to watch this page once you've posted. And with the relatively new "Subscribe" feature, it's pretty easy to do. BTW, I'm not interested in becoming your mentor (I'm not the best person to mentor editors in general), so I don't want to get into an extended discussion on what you should and should not be doing. I mentioned some obvious things, but I haven't done a review of your edits.--Bbb23 (talk) 16:02, 18 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I鈥檓 not asking for a mentor. I was just asking for advice. Hurricane Clyde 馃寑my talk page! 16:05, 18 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
In other words; do what I was doing back in June and July. Thank you. Hurricane Clyde 馃寑my talk page! 16:06, 18 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
As for the Lokicat LTA; can someone please look at it to see if it should be nominated for deletion? Because I have second thoughts about having created that page in the first place. Hurricane Clyde 馃寑my talk page! 17:28, 18 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Why revert my talk page messages?

All my messages on talk pages (e.g. Talk:Infinite Craft) were reverted for being disruptive. My intent was not to be disruptive or spam, just to ask things. Why were these messages reverted? Kaynbred 01:18, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Stivwag

Hello. Well, I find a few:

Kind of rare, because the Checkuser was just for 2. I find it through IP Check.-澶╀娇 BlackBeast Do you need someting? 23:04, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Only one of them has any edits on en.wiki, and that one's edit was back in August when they created an innocuous userpage.--Bbb23 (talk) 23:15, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, because he's from es:WP. I'm finding today at least 10 more.-澶╀娇 BlackBeast Do you need someting? .-澶╀娇 BlackBeast Do you need someting? 23:18, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
BTW, just find out a lot of puppets more and the owner: https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Usuario:Manuel_Assiego .-澶╀娇 BlackBeast Do you need someting? 23:17, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The ones in that list mostly haven't edited en.wiki since 2022, one 2023. Not worth pursuing.--Bbb23 (talk) 23:22, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
OK Then. Let me know if he comes here. But, he has at least 20 pup.-澶╀娇 BlackBeast Do you need someting? 23:31, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A fox for you!

Thanks a bunch for blocking FarhanNaufal19! Subtle vandalism is awful to see and sometimes worse to deal with because you can't tell if it's good faith or vandalism. Thanks for getting on top of my report quickly! :D

Unblock requests

Hi. I'm spending a bit of my wiki-time these days trying to help clear the large backlog of unblock requests. In doing so, I typically ask the admins who made the block and/or who declined a previous unblock request to comment, so I can be sure I have the whole story. Within the past few days I think I have pinged you for this purpose three or four times, and may do so again in the future. I just wanted to assure you that this is simply because you make a significant number of blocks that show up on the RFU list, and not because I am particularly focused on your blocks as opposed to anyone else's. Regards, Newyorkbrad (talk) 15:12, 20 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the note, but the latest one you pinged me to was hardly part of a backlog.--Bbb23 (talk) 15:30, 20 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Fair point, but part of dealing with backlogs is to avoid them in the first place by keeping up with current requests as well. Newyorkbrad (talk) 15:44, 20 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
