‘Wendell & Wild’
Of all the animated films to watch with your family post-Thanksgiving, Wendell & Wild is definitely the most interesting. This Jordan Peele and Henry Selick film follows Kat, a young girl reeling from the trauma of an accident that killed her parents, who is given the opportunity to bring them back from the dead by two demons, Wendell and Wild. Featuring the comedic pairing of Jordan Peele and Keegan-Michael Key (who doesn’t love that?), Wendell & Wild is one of the most socially conscious animated films to date, teaching children and parents alike what it means to love yourself and embrace your trauma. Warning: a tissue box might be necessary to have at hand during your watch.
