‘The Time Traveler’s Wife’
Nothing says fall quite like a big budget romance. Based on Audrey Niffenegger’s 2003 novel, The Time Traveler’s Wife follows Henry (Eric Bana), a Chicago librarian with a paranormal disorder that causes him to randomly time travel. Henry spends much of his time visiting a young girl named Clare (eventually played by Rachel McAdams), and when she finally grows up, the two fall in love. Before long, Henry’s uncontrollable time traveling complicates their relationship, and the tension only increases when they have a child with peculiar abilities of her own. The Time Traveler’s Wife may not be Oscar-winning fare, but Bana and McAdams’ crackling chemistry more than makes up for the film’s shortcomings. Add this one to your fall streaming queue ASAP.
