‘P.S. Burn This Letter Please’

There are a lot of documentaries you need to watch during Pride Month—and P.S. Burn This Letter Please needs to be at the top of your list. This hidden gem—available to stream on Discovery+—is a beautiful ode to queer culture and the drag scene of New York City in the 1950s. You read that right: the 1950s! The doc is narrated via a big stack of letters sent way, way back when. And since the letters were all written by drag queens, they offer a truly rare glimpse at what it was like to be young and gay in a decade when that seemed impossible. P.S. Burn This Letter Please even goes a step further and tracks down the people who wrote the letters and were a part of that scene—and so many of them are still alive! You haven’t lived until you’ve seen queer people in their 80s and 90s spill the tea. Like the letters, this film is a priceless piece of queer history.

‘Kevin Can F*** Himself’

Kevin Can F*** Himself takes the network sitcom model and turns it on its head. Schitt's Creek star Annie Murphy plays Allison McRoberts, a Massachusetts native who, by all means, looks and acts like the typical sitcom wife we've come to know on network television. But the AMC drama offers an inside look at the life of this uncovered trope as it...

‘Kinds of Kindness’

Director Yorgos Lanthimos followed his twisted—but ultimately sweet—Oscar-nominated film Poor Things with a film that is not very sweet at all, and I think that's beautiful. Kinds of Kindness, which is now streaming on Hulu, is an anthology film consisting of three shorts, all of which star Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons, Willem Dafoe, Margaret...

‘The Old Man’ Season 2

FX's The Old Man has always been a different kind of spy thriller, least of all because its ass-kicking action star is the 74-year-old Jeff Bridges. No, The Old Man flips the conventions of the drama by making the stakes personal. Once again, "Dan Chase" (Jeff Bridges), a retired elite CIA operative finds himself fighting not to save the world or...

Juliet, Naked is a sweet comedy that deserves much more hype.
