How can this player be notable? Not a GM, not a national/continental/world champion (usual notability criteria), he is not even a master! He is only a "hustler who plays primarily in Dupont Circle, Washington, D.C."!Sophia91 (talk) 15:21, 8 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I changed my vote to "keep" after more sources were added, and the result of the deletion discussion was speedy keep. He's notable in Wikipedia's sense of the word because he "has received significant coverage in reliable secondary sources that are independent of the subject". See my "skittles room" edit. Here is the likely explanation of the name:

Skittles was a popular lawn bowling game in England, you rolled a ball at small wooden pins.  Casual chess got the nickname "skittles" because the pieces fly around like those wooden skittle pins. Zezen (talk) 05:50, 2 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
