Crystal Fox, Sunita Mani, Rebecca Rittenhouse, and Marin Ireland have also joined the cast.

There are two sides to every story: His & Hers. Which means? Someone is always lying.

Tessa Thompson (Creed, Thor) will executive produce and star in the upcoming seductive and twisty psychological thriller His & Hers. Dee Johnson (Fellow Travelers, The Good Wife, ER) serves as showrunner, executive producer, and writer, while William Oldroyd (Eileen) will direct the first episode of the six-episode limited series. Jessica Chastain will also executive produce. His & Hers is adapted from Alice Feeney’s novel of the same name.

“I am beyond elated to be collaborating with a filmmaker I have long admired and an incredible team to make a fresh offering in a genre that I can never get enough of,” Thompson tells Tudum. “From the second I heard what Will was imagining doing with Alice Feeney’s brilliant book, to the moment I visited the town where our story is set, I was hooked.”

Learn more about Thompson’s upcoming series below.

What is His & Hers about?

In the sweltering heat of Atlanta, Anna (Thompson) lives in haunting reclusion, fading away from her friends and career as a news anchor. But when she overhears talk about a murder in Dahlonega — the sleepy north Georgia town where she grew up — Anna is snapped back to life, pouncing on the case and searching for answers. Detective Jack Harper is strangely suspicious of her involvement, chasing her into the crosshairs of his own investigation.

Who’s in the cast of His & Hers?

Alongside Thompson as Anna, Emmy winner Jon Bernthal (The Bear, The Accountant 2, Daredevil: Born Again) joins the cast as Jack, Pablo Schreiber (Halo, Den of Thieves, Orange Is the New Black) as Richard, Crystal Fox (The Big Door Prize, A Fall From Grace) as Alice, Sunita Mani (Death of a Unicorn, The Roses) as Priya, and Rebecca Rittenhouse (Four Weddings and a Funeral, Maggie) as Lexy in series regular roles. Marin Ireland (The Umbrella Academy, Eileen) will play Zoe in a supporting role.

Jack (Bernthal) is a sheriff’s office detective who lost his last job and is now working in his small hometown of Dahlonega, Georgia, where he lives with his sister and niece. He’s married to newscaster Anna (Thompson), but the two are estranged, their relationship complicated by loss and betrayal. Jack is a good man who doesn’t always make good decisions, and he’s deeply troubled by the murder case he’s just picked up.

Richard (Schreiber) is one of the best camerapeople at WSK TV News, and he’s also the husband of hot new anchor Lexy Jones, who slid into her position during the recent absence of regular anchor Anna Andrews. Richard is chosen by Anna to be her cameraperson when, upon her return, she picks up the story of a murder in Dahlonega as a field reporter.

Alice (Fox) is Anna's mother, who still lives in her house in Dahlonega, Georgia. She’s strong, says what she thinks, and lives alone … but maybe shouldn’t. She hasn’t heard from her daughter in a year, but she knows why. Her son-in-law, Detective Jack Harper (Bernthal), has been watching over her because her health has been in decline, which has also resulted in some odd behavior around town on her part.

Priya (Mani) is earnestly efficient, eager to please, and fascinated by murder. She’s Detective Jack Harper’s new partner at the sheriff’s office. Having left the big city to work in a small town, Priya brings a sharp quirkiness to the job that her mentor Jack finds both endearing and annoying.

Lexy (Rittenhouse) has blonde hair, a Hollywood smile, and is smart, professional, and driven by raw ambition. She’s now the anchor at WSK-TV News — a position the hugely popular Anna Andrews had previously held for years. As a new field reporter at WSK, Lexy capitalized on Anna's leave of absence, leapfrogging into the anchor desk position. Though she’s “delighted” to see Anna back at the news station, she has no intention of giving up the coveted role.

Zoe (Ireland) is sharp-tongued and bored. She lives in her parents’ house with Detective Jack Harper and her 6-year-old daughter, Meg. Her love of wine and her too-tight sweatpants suggest she’s a woman who peaked in high school. She’s letting Jack stay with her till he gets back on his feet; meanwhile, news about the murder he’s investigating in their small town is equally exciting and shocking when she learns who the victim is.
