Be Kind. Give Time. Build Trust. Last week Bobby Williams, Shameka Glover, and I ventured to New Orleans. We saw some of the Mardi Gras festivities (pictured is a tree we saw during our run) and had an awesome conversation over lunch with Shannon Coleman-Cryer (all things wage and hour). During a dinner event, we talked with clients and industry cohorts about what it takes to be successful in the legal field. Here are the top three themes: Be Kind: Genuine kindness is priceless. It’s so simple but seems so hard for many. Care about others, be kind, and do what is right regardless of the dollars. Give Time: Our most valuable asset is time. Spend time with people you genuinely enjoy, and the relationships that form will likely be more authentic and long-lasting. Those are the important relationships that pay dividends over time, directly or indirectly. Build Trust: Results are important, but trust is paramount. It is a gradual construct, built steadily over time through consistent interactions. Mistakes will happen, but it’s how you own those when (not if) they happen. If trust is broken, it is often irreparably damaged along with the relationship. #bekind #buildtrust #givetime iDiscovery Solutions

📸 Look at this post on Facebook https://lnkd.in/gtrfZUqF 🌟 Making an Impact as a Community Leader: Feeding the Spirit of Thanksgiving 🍂 Yesterday, I had the privilege of being a part of something truly inspiring, as community leaders came together to ensure that everyone in our neighborhood had a memorable Thanksgiving meal. This heartwarming experience reminded me of the essence of leadership – our passion for people is born from those who have paved the way before us. Thanksgiving is a time for gratitude and coming together, and witnessing this incredible display of unity and compassion was a powerful reminder that we are capable of making a tangible difference. When individuals and organizations join hands, magic happens! Seeing the smiles on the faces of families as they received their meals highlighted the profound impact we, as community leaders, can have. It is not just about providing food for the table, but nourishing the hearts and spirits of those in need. It is about fostering a sense of belonging, reminding people that they are seen, heard, and cared for. Our community is a rich tapestry of diverse talents and abilities, and it is our responsibility to utilize these strengths to uplift one another. Together, we can create a positive ripple effect that extends far beyond the holiday season. Community leaders, like you and me, have the power to shape and transform lives. This Thanksgiving, let's harness the spirit of unity and compassion that we witnessed yesterday. Let's continue supporting and encouraging each other, amplifying our collective impact. By empowering individuals, providing resources, and creating opportunities for growth, we can ensure that everyone in our community thrives. I am grateful for the chance to have been a part of this incredible initiative. It reaffirmed my commitment to serving others and reminded me that leadership is not just about holding a position – it is an ongoing journey of making a difference, no matter how big or small. Together, let's never underestimate the power of our actions and the impact we can have as community leaders. Let us continuously seek opportunities to lend a helping hand, spread kindness, and make this world a better place. #CommunityLeaders #Thanksgiving #MakingADifference #TogetherWeCan

Guests, management, and staff. The trifecta responsible for creating the service and sense of community we want to provide. Guests experience it. Staff provide it. Management creates it. Usually the focus for management is on staff > guest interactions. But too often the root cause of your retention problem comes from management > staff interactions. Not just what you say. But how you move, how you carry yourself, how you interact with guests. Are you embodying the values you expect your staff to portray? Staff HAVE to feel valued AND understand their place in the systems we create. They have to see that we as management are willing to bus a table, if it brings us closer to the goal. We need to tell them our hopes, our expectations, our standards, and share our passion for this industry with our junior staff in every interaction we have with them, whether it’s an actual conversation or whether they’re overhearing you describe a dish to a guest. Get out of the office. Make that pre-shift motivational, not administrative. Talk to your bussers. Encourage. Motivate. Mentor. Maybe grab a tray once in a while. Lead by example. We can’t expect staff to do it if we wouldn’t do it ourselves. This is how you build community.

Former President John F. Kennedy once said, "As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them." In this week's Market Matters, we share a bit about Compass Ion's commitment to generosity. We also talk about the idea of creating a culture of generosity and ensuring that we are teaching the next generation how to be generous. And, yes, we would agree with President Kennedy that our actions speak louder than our words. Creating a culture of generosity requires action. We also take a look at the growing group of homeowners who are living mortgage-free, as well as some of the consumer indicators on economic health. Additionally, did you ever wonder just how much that Thanksgiving dinner cost? —monetarily, that is. While it's not as costly as last year, we think going back for seconds is worth the financial investment. Click below to read more! https://lnkd.in/gWYQqTFM
