🚨 Workweek is hiring an Events Sponsorship Manager! 🚨 Why this is exciting: Events are a huge growth area for Workweek. In 2025, we’re planning at least five major events plus dozens of community meetups. Long-term events will be a cornerstone of our professional networks. What you'll do: You’ll take charge of sponsorships for all Workweek events. This quota-carrying role will work closely with our brand partnerships team to pitch tailored event packages. You’ll also prospect and pitch directly to event and field marketers. As we scale, you’ll be vital in building the event sponsorship team. Is this you? - 3+ years of experience in B2B event sponsorship sales - Proven track record of exceeding your quota - Details don't get lost on you, and you can collaborate with our production team to deliver a great sponsorship - Proven ability to create unique sponsorship packages that our vendors love - Ready to cold email and pitch potential clients without hesitation If this sounds like you, DM me or apply via the link in the comments!

👇💰 Do you work in fintech and have a very particular set of skills? Check out what Alex Johnson's cooking up....

    Founder, Fintech Takes

I'm trying something new with Fintech Takes, which you might find interesting. One of two things tends to happen when experienced operators and executives in financial services get toward the end of their careers: 1.) They become a Partner at McKinsey, BCG, Deloitte, or one of the other big consulting firms. 2.) They retire after failing to find one last full-time or part-time job (age discrimination in hiring is real, and it is brutal, especially in fintech). This is a problem because their experience and wisdom are either lost (reluctantly) to retirement, or they end up locked behind outrageously expensive consulting engagements (where most of the work is done by associates anyway). I feel like we can do better, which is why I am in the very early stages of pulling together a highly curated expert network for banking and fintech. The goal is to find people who have unique knowledge and skills (think about these folks as the fintech equivalent to Liam Neeson's character in Taken) and pair them up with banks and fintech companies that are looking for cost-effective access to vetted experts who are actually willing to tell them things they might not want to hear. If that's you, let me know in a comment or reply to tomorrow's newsletter.

    Talent Acquisition Leader | 💻 🔐 | DiSC (Si) ✨ | Sourcing 🥷 | Diversity Equity & Inclusion Champion | #WAGMI |🕹️ 🎮 #goodvibesonly 💯

This post was inspired by listening to the one and only Hebba Youssef via her I Hate it Here podcast. 💡 Ego - is the topic. Why is ego a problem in the workplace? Even more so in any dynamic team setting. Well for starters it stifles innovation and hinders collaboration. Be the example you want others to follow! 👇🏾 For starters for someone seen as a leader we must create safe spaces for honest dialogue, where feedback is seen as a tool for growth, not criticism. #WorkplaceCulture #Leadership #Collaboration #Innovation #GrowthMindset
