Assembling two story, modular custom air handling systems is challenging work. This project has six units. Each unit was shipped in 12 modular sections with an operating weight of 92,185 lbs per unit. The finished unit includes an upper and lower air tunnel, large piping and controls vestibule, fan walls with 8-15 HP supply fans and 5-10 HP return fans. The air handling capacity per unit is 60,000 CFM supply and 50,000 CFM return. They can supply 332 tons nominal cooling capacity. Each finished air handler is 702” long x 186” high x 412” wide, which includes a 585 square foot vestibule. These are Ventrol units, built by Nortek Air Solutions, Montreal Canada. Nortek is represented by APA LLC, expert project installation and rigging by J. C. Higgins, McCusker/Gill and Marr Crane.
