This is not an easy thing to do, but where I have seen it work is when the owner focuses on systemizing the businesses. Have systems and standard operating procedures for every role in each company such that anyone can step into a role and no task within the company is unaddressed.
That way, what clients need from you won't fall by the wayside and all other tasks have been optimized to where you have enough time for your other endeavors.
