Did Locke’s testimony help us decide whether Church could have been the Dollmaker? Was he a good witness for Honey Chandler?

I thought that he seemed more of neutral wittiness. Chandler tried to present him as an expert...which he was up to a point. If I had been on that jury I would have heard and respected him as a reliable expert that had researched enough serial killers to be able to say "this is how a serial killer is formed." He didn't have any evidence or knowledge that Church fit any of the criteria as he had never personally spoken to Church. I don't think his testimony helped or hurt either side.

I agree with >2 Carol420:. His testimony didn't help or hurt because he had no actual interaction with Church.

I agree with Carol, Locke's evidence neither proved nor disproved Church as the Dollmaker. But I don't think that's the point - his original role on the case was as a profiler, suggesting what the police may expect to find, it was not his place to decide if Church was guilty.
His time on the stand did not go the way Chandler was probably expecting, (👍, 😄); I feel Belk got more out of him to support Bosch's case, ie. that you never know who has deviant tendencies, thus Church could not be ruled out.

I think Locke's testimony helped Harry's case and still leaves it open that Church was guilty of something too.

I think he actually helped the defense. Belk asked some very good questions and brought out some very good points about the killer. I think it was good for the jury to hear that people with these deviant behaviors know that they are wrong and try very hard to hide them. This seemed very helpful for Harry's side.

Yes, Locke’s testimony helped Harry

I think he gave evidence that helped both sides. However a good point about it could be anyone.

I think he provided support for both sides but I didn’t like the man, personally, though the jury seemed to. I don’t think his testimony swayed the jury one way or the other - Chandler scored points in the primary questioning and Belk on redirect.
