There are myths and stories of creatures and fantasy worlds that have been told to different generations of people. This is a great folktale story book for children to learn about the different cultural myths and legends that people believed in or heard of before modern life evolved. ( )

A comprehensive collection of 115 Latin American and Indian folktales, this book spans the early colonial period through the early twentieth century. I enjoyed reading the folktales based on Christian characters and biblical themes. This book contains stories of biblical characters from Adam to Noah and Christ. I especially liked the Mexican story entitled “How the First People Were Made”.
