Tollywood’s hottie Anushka was much famous in Tamil film industry with her debut film ‘Rendu’. But later, the actress got literally busy with Telugu projects and couldn’t make her way back here. After a long interval, she has now decided to act in more Tamil films. Apparently, she has occupied a new bungalow in Chennai due to her continuous shooting schedules in the city.
Following the success of ‘Vettaikaran’ and ‘Singam’, the actress is now starring opposite Simbhu in the remake of Telugu movie ‘Vaanam’. She will be repeating the same role of original version while Simbhu will be seen in the role performed by Allu Arjun aka Bunny.
Sneha Ullal, who hasn’t so far acted in Tamil films makes her debut with this movie and she is the close friend of Simbhu. Now with two hot girls pairing with young superstar, Anushka has vowed to put...

Hottie Anushka didn’t have a better start in Kollywood as soon after the first film ‘Rendu’, she disappeared suddenly. Now the actress has made a stunning comeback in Tamil film industry with two consecutive hits – ‘Vettaikaran’ and Surya starrer ‘Singam’. Brimmed with the successful venture, the actress sets to perform a challenging role of a sex worker in Silambarasan’s upcoming film ‘Vaanam’.
Just as we have briefed enough about this film, it’s a remake of recent Telugu hit ‘Vedam’ that featured Allu Arjun along with Manoj Manchu and Anushka in lead roles. Since Manoj has been severely injured over his shoulders, Bharath will replace him and Anushka will repeat the same role.
Anushka was reported to be performing just an item number in this film, which is completely a rumor as she plays the female lead role and will appear all throughout the film.

Analyzing the reports of box office results in the past 8 months, things have turned to be completely surprising for the buffs as the superstars have blatantly disappointed while few have really lived up to the expectations. Guess what? The films of Ajith Kumar and Vijay we anticipated to do well, flunked terribly at box office.
But it’s Vijay, who leads the failures’ list as his ‘Vettaikaran’ and 50th film ‘Sura’ was a bad flop. However, Ajith Kumar follows the list as his ‘Asal’ being produced at such a big cost was again a flop. Nothing seems to be impressive with these actors unlike Surya, whose films have been runaway successes. Followed by the grand success of ‘Aadhavan’, the film ‘Singam’ is rocking at its best in box office. In spite of Manirathnam’s ‘Raavanan’ released before couple of weeks, the film has been doing well and relatively, his upcoming...

These two are the newcomers, who recently made their debut directorial with big stars and a fine team. Babu Sivan struck gold in Kollywood with Vijay taking on the lead role and Sun Pictures producing it. On pars, Thiru’s recent debut with ‘Theeratha Vilayattu Pillai’ has of course gained some prominence to the filmmaker.
Since, it’s Sun Picture introducing them in film industry, the film has somehow made it bigger in charts on commercial quotients.
Now, these two filmmakers are approached by main league of actors. It seems that Babu Sivan had received more offers much prior to the release of ‘Vettaikaran’. Thiru is now finding a different way of signing projects: First sign actors, then producers and start penning a script later.

Actor Vijay seems to be drenched in hastiness of fetching more money as his market is slightly loosing out amongst trade areas. A good actor is the one, who doesn’t any projects before completing his present ones. But Vijay’s father S.A. Chandrasekar is so deliberate that his son may loose his market with so many flops in the row.
It was the main reason why he signed ‘Sura’ much prior to the completion of ‘Vettaikaran’. Though Sun Pictures have been persistently publicizing the film that it is a grand hit, in reality, the film is a real disaster. Now, with his ‘Sura’ still pending with so many schedules, the actor has cleverly signed two projects with Super Good Films and Aascar Ravichandran each.
Anyhow, few are interested in getting into politics are investing in other business with the aid of certain audiences who are ready to accept even...

Vijay’s ‘Sura’ is produced by Sangali Murugan and is directed by S.P. Rajkumar. Major portion of this film is already shot across the shores of Vizag, Kerala and Pondicherry.
When asked the officials of Sun Pictures on this regard, they were closemouthed about it.

A complete year of surprises as most of the actresses struck with glory in their second innings. Nayanthara and Trisha had a very disappointing year as their films flunked terribly at box office and fetched worst reviews for them.
Anushka: She made her debut with ‘Rendu’ that didn’t gain her more appreciations. But her comeback just swayed us out with ‘Arundhathi’ while she had to get herself in vain with Vijay’s ‘Vettaikaran’. She has got one more big ticket ‘Singam’ with Surya and she is already in favorite lists of directors and producers.
Tamannah: The slim beauty had the success knocking her doors continuously throughout the year. Padikadhavan, Kanden Kadhalai, Ayan and she won some good reviews for the underrated film ‘Anandha Thandavam’.
Saranya Mohan: This 20-year old girl has come up with pleasing works in ‘Vennila Kabadi Kulu’ and ‘Eeram’. Her Telugu film ‘Village Lo Vinayakudu’ was a great hit.

Most of the biggies failed us badly as none of them turned to make at least 10 days in box office.
The year 2009 has been a bitterly bounded year for Kollywood as well the ardent buffs, who eagerly expected more from these films. But unfortunately most of them let our hopes down.
Kollywood Today brings the exclusive look of films that drenched the producers in financial crisis.
Villu: The terrifying film of this film. Churned out at a cost of Rs.40Crores, Ayngaran Productions have literally planned not to make another film with Vijay. The film didn’t fetch half the production cost at box office.
Vettaikaran: Oops! Vijay seems to be the pathetic artist of 2009 as both his films have been adjudged as the horrible flops in 2009. One of the leading theatre’s own in Chennai had to lament right on the third day that the actor himself...

Tamil film industry may boast about certain amenities that gets it going on top of world. We’ve extraordinary actors, astounding technicians and their mind-boggling works. We’ve the World renowned actors like Kamal Haasan, Rajnikanth and A.R. Rahman, who make more news on headlines much greater in magnitude than Shah Rukh and other Khans of Bollywood.
But then, there are few things that stop us from getting the film industry ahead. Few actors like Vijay who makes the situations worsened up.
In a recent interview, with a print media owned by ‘Vettaikaran’ producers, he has mentioned that the film is a blockbuster….
Oops! did he ever visit the theatres on the 5th day, the audiences have felt as though a disastrous moment has happened.
‘Vettaikaran is a blockbuster’ can be the speculative lies that can’t forgotten in centuries to come.

Vijay’s ‘Vettaikaran’ had a grand opening towards the entire centre as the theatres were house packed for the first three days. But now, the scenarios have become so contrastive that most of the single screens (where major portion of Vijay fans occupy) is witnessed with half-empty shows.
One of the theatre’s managers in Chennai says that they are completely disappointed with the 5th day results as the collections abruptly dropped.
Sun Pictures had aggressively marketed the film prior to its results which could push the audiences to watch this film on first three days with advance booking plans. But now, since the film has nothing to impress, the women audiences have backed off from opting for this show.
Looks like it’s time for Vijay to act in films like Youth, Badri, Priyamanavale and Friends, since those were the films that won him laurels.
