When it came time to build a third standalone “Thor” feature, Marvel brass had a few different elements that they felt were necessary for inclusion, all the better to bolster the superhero’s solo power after the relative disappointment of “Thor: The Dark World.” Mostly, there needed to be more humor, the kind that could capitalize on star Chris Hemsworth’s growing acclaim as a comedian, but not feel out of place in the McU as a whole. And perhaps the big guy needed a buddy, too, a fellow superhero also capable of teasing out both humor and pathos.
As Marvel president Kevin Feige explains, the franchise found an unlikely connection between those aims and a favorite piece of comic book lore. First up, though, “Thor: Ragnarok” needed to be its own thing, and get away from a predecessor that didn’t quite tap into what makes the Asgardian god...

Well it’s that time of year again, end of year/best of list time! If you’ve been reading this site – or Blogomatic3000 – for a while now you’ll know my tastes are generally a little different from the more mainstream sites and so my Top 10′s are too! The usual disclaimers apply to this Top 10 – this is a list of my favourite films of the year, the films that got me excited and the ones that remained with me after the credits rolled…

If you're not watching "Hannibal" on NBC, then you are missing one of the best damned horror-themed shows on TV. Apparently NBC hasn't realized this as they've yet to renew the show for a second season. Don't fear though... outside parties are interested should they pass.
Deadline reports that Amazon, which currently carries repeats of the show, has expressed interest in taking it on should NBC pass. There are no talks going on, and "Hannibal" has not been shopped as the producers are waiting on a renewal at NBC. Two words, NBC - wise up! Shit or get off the pot!
That being said, we also have on tap for you right now a new clip from the next episode!

First off: shitty title, awesome looking movie. From the guy who gave us “Shiri” and “Tae Guk Gi: The Brotherhood of War”, comes “My Way”, director Kang Je-Kyu’s first movie in over 7 years. Comic book movie fans are in for a treat next summer with the arrival of "Cowboys & Aliens" from "Iron Man" director Jon Favreau. Given the familiar filmmaker's involvement, not to mention an impressive cast that includes Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford, Sam Rockwell and Olivia Wilde — and, obviously, the film title itself — is there really anything else you need to know about the movie ahead of time?
The answer, if you're confused, is no — but that doesn't make the first official poster for "Cowboys & Aliens" any less awesome.
Yahoo Movies has posted the very first poster from "Cowboys & Aliens," depicting an old Western hero (Craig) with his back turned to us, a rifle in one hand and a mysterious glowing wrist-mounted weapon on his other arm. In short, it's a perfect picture of Wild West badassery.

Director Peter Sollett (Nick and Nora’s Infinite Playlist) is currently in talks to direct the big screen adaptation of Marvel’s Runaways. Runaways was created by Brian K. Vaughan (Lost) and Adrian Alphona, and debuted in April of 2003. Brian K. Vaughn is writing the script and Kevin Feige is producing.
Despite debuting in 2003, the actual series itself was launched in 2002 as part of Marvel Comics‘ “Tsunami” imprint. The series had been canceled in September 2004 at issue eighteen, but due to high numbers of trade collection sales, Marvel revived the series in February of 2005 and it has continued ever since.
